Best article I’ve read on the Israeli strategy.  Ground game will last a few weeks, then hopefully an Arab led peace keeping mission is put in place to prevent Hamas from reforming.

I've said this for years....

This is one of the problems with the hyper partisan polarization in our culture wars.

Get a whiff of the far right supporting Israel, they gotta go balls deep in their support of Hamas. They don't care how awful this looks now and how much worse it's going to look further down the road.

For fucks sake...the Squad had to vote no in support of Israel.

Painting Trump as Hitler is psychotic. You can criticize Trump all day and night but he was a huge supporter of Israel.

We're witnessing the brain death of the far left.

James - is it not possible to denounce Hamas attacks and Hamas without also questioning Israel’s occupancy of the territory and the fact they can do literally whatever they want to restrict necessary resources to live to innocent Palestinians? The hyper-polarization you are talking about is exactly what you are doing. You are over-generalizing the left, LGBTQ community, and rejecting nuance. That is polarizing.

Agree with it’s okay to criticize Israel, but this isn’t what’s happening. It’s just totally odd that progressives are in lock step on everything, whether it’s trans tights, Israel, anti capitalism, environmental policies (that don’t actually help the environment), censorship, racial and social issues, law enforcement, not prosecuting criminals etc etc etc

How is it there’s not any nuance here? Almost an entire generation thinks the exact same way on all things, while Republicans can’t even agree on their own speaker. That is terrifying. It also is telling the amount of money progressives have invested in school boards, teacher unions and universities. Now socialism is seen in a better light with zoomers than the United States itself. I’m a liberal more than a conservative, and progressivism is NOT liberalism

The problem with this is that people I never would've expected are turning on public schools in my circle of friends and acquaintances.

People are seeing more and more what public schools have become. It can't sustain. Tax bases will shrink and all those over paid administrators who shove these curriculum changes down people's throats will start to decrease.

My 13 year old step daughter gets As with ease now and she isn't trying very hard to get them. She has very little homework, no deadlines (get it done whenever) and her biggest worry these days is which crop top she's going to wear to school.

Every interaction I've had with school staff lately has been kind of stand offish. Teachers know better than everyone, Admin really know better and girls going to 8th grade classes half naked is totally cool now.

Speaking of my 13 year old step daughter, she recently got her friend for the first time. She has no idea how to handle it and does not take it very seriously (as I'm sure many girls do). It's not necessarily the school's job to handle these situations or prepare kids for this time in their lives, but if they're going to spend time on gender shit and pronouns, shouldn't she know what a period is and maybe some basics about how to handle it?

Another professional experience to share, I work with kids with special needs for a living and have to deal with public school districts from time to time. I met with the director of special education in a local school district in an attempt to set up a collaboration. To paraphrase bluntly, she stated that the school district would never hire me and that they have no interest in what my facility does for children. She took it a step farther and state that the public school serves these children very well and services like mine weren't needed.

I am intaking public school students on a weekly basis these days. They come to me by choice. The difference is that people are forced into public schools. These parents express extreme dissatisfaction with public schools and their programs for special needs. I don't blame her. The public school system has turned into a monster. It's not about the children, it's about how to expand and advance the school system with little regard for how they serve the community.

As someone who once was a huge proponent of public schools in general, I must confess that it is losing my support. I'm fed up.

Why get bent out of shape over this?  This world view isn’t new, it’s been the predominant view of leftist policies since at least the 70s, and has been mainstream progressive orthodox since the late 90s. This isn’t the first time Israeli children have been raped and murdered by the militant wing of the official Palestinian authority.

I don’t know if you forgot, but jihadis have never hesitated to use child murder and torture as a suppression tactic. They genuinely believe the invisible man in he sky justifies these atrocious acts because Jews are literally Satan and America’s their lapdog.

Those supporting them certainly haven’t forgotten.  The last time the Palestinians held an election, they voted 95% for candidates that support the genocide of Israel.

Yeah they've been doing this shit forever. I remember watching CNN as a teenager and seeing daily suicide bombings. Crazy shit...on buses, in malls, clubs....

This was their worst yet. Pure depravity. The 5th circle of hell.

Combine it with the level of support they're getting here and it's off the charts insanity.

It will probably wind up being a huge election issue here. I can see the ads now...footage of huge crowds of college students cheering on terrorists, the Squad's refusal to support Israel....with the let's make America great again slogan.

A western government in the Middle East is the only way that segment of the world will eventually embrace egalitarian values. There’s the side that believes women are 2nd class citizens if not worse, who believes blasphemy should be a death sentence, and the side that thinks a western democracy with free elections and human rights is worth preserving.

That’s why I care. We just saw how easy a military force of any significance can tear through Eastern Europe. We saw millions of Arabs illegally enter Europe who have zero interest in assimilating and solely want western comfort - namely the reasonable expectation you won’t be dragged out of your home in the middle of a night by an angry mob. A war with the East is inevitable. US and NATO intel unanimously agree at least. I value a united West as the deterrent to Chinese expansion, so preventing a 21st century caliphate that serves as the buffer to China is one of my top global concerns.

Of course you have the Jesus heads who are hoping for a rebuilt temple to bring their own Armageddon, but those blow hard are just as opposed as their progressive counterparts to do anything beyond yelling into the void of social media.

So yea, any effort to negate the authority that promotes the same ideology as Al Qaeda and ISIS is A-Ok in my book. I don’t give much credence to the propaganda of Jihadis, so any numbers from Hamas you know are incredibly exaggerated. And quite frankly, any Palestinian not a direct threat that is part of collateral damage save the children, aren’t really innocents. Hamas and their supporters falsely believe they can use their children as human shields. That’s not true anymore, so who really has culpability from knowingly putting “innocents” in danger to hide from Israel.

Just compare the tactics used by Russia in Ukraine and those used by Israel in Gaza. Tell me who’s fighting the humane war.

It is what he does and always has.  Basically just attacks everyone else and name calls.  He should not be allowed to run again anyway.

They have just ruined public schools. Old school teachers are leaving in droves, mainly because students are out of control and low pay. We’re really seeing the chickens coming home to roost with how political the education system has become. Liberal parents I know are putting their kids into Christian private schools. Never thought I’d see that. Kids need to be kids, not neurotic activists.

Two nieces of mine have been sexually harassed by trans kids (girls pretending to be boys), the same MO, different states. The youngest wants out of school completely and my bro is considering home school

I have a friend who has a special needs kids and that goes to a special needs school.  From what she has told me, they are pretty incompetent and driven by money and not the well being of the kid.  They get money from the state (she lives in NJ) and that seems to be the driving force.  Plus they stick her kid in (he has a speech impediment) with all the other special needs kids, some of them are worse off than he is.

So yeah, I'm not surprised at the dissatisfaction by parents at the public school system or the fact that your services weren't needed.  Their priorites are screwed up.

They are just not getting taught life skills to me where they can survive on their own.  It's not a bad idea by your bro.  Ask your nieces what they know about a general topic and I'd bet it's a lot less than you knew at that age.  Public schools have become soft, it's hard to explain.
