Our culture is sick.
Reddit as a legitimate political platform was dead the minute they changed the front page algorithm during 2016 election. From there they’ve continually made changes to throttle one side of politics and boost the other.
Is Reddit woke now because of the algorithm changes and heavy modding *or* because those changes actually influenced the average user farther left over the last 6 years?
Who knows. I agree it’s crazy there is a large block of people willing to go to bat for criminals.

For years....tons of people (including a bunch of liberals) have been ranting and raving about how out of control the price of real estate is....
Why can't our politicians do something?!? The Chinese buy up our neighborhood pricing normal Americans out of the market!! Help us!!!

I was checking Twitter to read about the NYC subway attack. Yikes....it's a bigger dumpster fire than reddit.
Disinformation spreads so quickly and once repeated enough....it becomes simple fact.
The people who worship this guy claim he was choked for 15 minutes...and continually spew this.
A 2 second google search would tell them that the journalist who actually witnessed the attack and filmed it says the chokehold lasted 2 minutes and 55 seconds.
They can't allow that fact to spread because pretending the attack lasted 15 minutes makes it sound more like cold blooded murder.
They're also portraying the victim as another Little Red Riding Hood tiptoeing through the tulips on the way to grandma's house.
Did he physically attack someone? No...but he was probably about to...going by his lengthy criminal record. He was spewing nonsense to himself....loudly....and then said he didn't care if he went to jail for life.
What type of crimes can lead to potential life sentences?!?
