If Canoga Park was one of the last songs Axl and Slash worked on, is it possible Slash took that song for the last Snakepit record under a real name and Axl considered it for the new band a la Metallica and Megadeth with Four Horsemen/Mechanix?
Possible I guess yeah. Ain't life grand was originally meant to be a gnr song called Burnout & Speed Parade was originally Nightcrawler (although they don't sound too much alike). So wouldn't surprise me.
There is an unreleased version of Burnout with Slash & I think Duff on bass with Iggy on vocals. They recorded that for a Les Paul tribute record that was shelved way back. Apparently Adler could never play it so that kind of nixed it being a Gnr song.
(edit) now I think about it Axl was clearly trying to evolve out of blues based rock music so I doubt he would have wanted to keep whatever Slash may have helped wright anyway, wouldn't surprise me if it became a Snakepit tune or even Fall To Piece's though

Hey guys i got a thread over at badapplesforum trying to make a definitive list of unreleased cd era songs.
Not trying to do a shit thread bump nor offend my friends James or Bls, just want to get as much information and knowledge of the topic in one place.
So feel free to post your thoughts or correct me where I'm wrong over there.
Threw this together a few months back on Dragon, just a theory on why it may be called that and why it's likely real.

Unrelated but I mention Canoga park in this video & I actually meant Central Park. I later looked into LastFM and found anyone can name a song whatever they want so i wouldn't put any stock in the Dragons Kiss title, but Dragon however is probably real.

You are correct sir.
It now can collect dust like the others.
I like Troccoli btw very nice guy.
People only know about this disc because someone spotted it on eBay (I think it was you guys on BadApples?). But for every disc that gets seen, there are probably three or four others that go completely unnoticed.
In 2025, leaks, alternate versions, and remixes are easier than ever to fake because of AI. The only reliable way to verify something is real is if it comes directly from physical media—like internal studio reference discs or label-made copies which is why (for those who still care) it's worth looking out for this stuff now more than before.
This disc matches the look of Capitol studio discs from that era (I’ve seen a few before), so I don’t doubt that it’s legitimate.
The bad news: you’re not going to hear this shared publicly by Troc or the person who sold it to him.
The good news: it’s probably not much different from the hundreds of versions of the song we already have. The only potential plus if we did get it would be a rip of lossless audio which might be an improvement of any comparable version floating around out there.

Great… another fucking tour. Does anyone really care at this point?
Just put a new album out already you lazy cunts.
The casuals will I guess, as far as live shows go they chased me off years ago. I only mentioned it, as if its true it strongly suggests no Atlas or Nothing release until then.
lol album? You ain't getting an album, that ship has sailed I think.

Slash was on Eddie Trunks show yesterday and allegedly confirmed they will be touring North America in 2026. If you get Nothing and Atlas then I would expect it won't be until then as that would mirror the other song releases over the last few years.
I only say allegedly as I have not heard the interview myself (noticed 'news' on reddit)

He was commissioned to remaster UYI in an Atmos mix. It's like a spacious 3d audio thing that some people swear by, It's been quite popular with prog records that have been remastered this way. for some it results is better separation of instruments and layers, it's hard to describe, I prefer stereo myself. Anyway this was meant to be included in the UYI boxset and wasn't except for November Rain.

On an unrelated note, I don't really want to make a thread for this, and it's not like I was looking for it but.........
Remember how shacklers Revenge was inspired in part by the Virginia Tech shooting incident?
Axl said in the forum chats something about the shooters affinity for MR Brownstone and the media trying to draw a connection to it. Well the shooter (who killed 32 people) wrote a play called Mr Brownstone. I now have a copy of that script or screen play or however you want to phrase it, feels a bit weird putting a link to it on a gnr forum so i'm not going to, but if anyone want's to read it PM me
its weird as fuck.

I think I worked on about 40 songs, including outtakes, B-sides, and God knows what else
This is why GNR are absolutely nuts, this guy worked on 40 songs, none of which we’ll ever get to hear.
Seems to be the one constant with this bloody band - existing songs that we will never hear.
30 from the records leaving 10 from outtakes and B-sides. I know there were live tunes as B-Sides but also the 'Wake up its time to play' version of Shadow was on the Live & Let Die single & I'd imagine probably a remastered version of 'Axls Advance Copy' of I Ain't Goin Down. But given there were a few things on the AFD boxset we didn't really know about you gotta wonder what else he remastered, possibly something we have never even heard of.
