There's nothing to miss...not a single song was released during that timeframe.
Hell...even the few leaks during that period sucked.
It was a new low.... sickening how 5 years got wasted on that lineup. Axl is lucky that no irreparable harm was done to the band and its legacy.
I predicted the moment Ashba walked through the door that nothing would get released on his watch...and I wasn't surprised by being proved right.
It was obvious what the strategy was post-CD release....Axl/TB wanted to be able to market GNR to a casual audience so they could keep the train running (and money flowing) until time for the reunion.
I don't care what the various insiders said over the years....we were never getting an album on that lineups watch.
A lineup admittedly incapable of performing Riad...a song on the album they were supposedly promoting? Ashba posing in between butchered solos? Members talking of working on several records even though they were working on none?
How can anyone miss that?!?
My fandom was over in 2009. I only stuck around for the community...until my addiction got so bad I checked out for a few years.
You make all valid points. I just for me it was just the 2009-2010 period where Axl both looked and sounded like himself, CD was out after waiting forever and it seemed at least possible that we might get a follow up. Axl was still doing a lot of press compared to post 2016 and was still angry, still genuine. I guess that’s what I miss about that period - Axl wasn’t this funny fun guy that goes on stage on time and is totally politically correct (and back then he wasn’t even openly political either) - he was still Axl: angry, dysfunctional, highly opinionated. I guess that’s what I miss. Not necessarily the band or the post 2011 depressingness of it all

Ron ended his tenure as a bitch…jaded for good reason but too whiny. Slashba was way way way too cheesy for me. He was a worse fit than Ron.
So, no, I don’t miss that band.
They dropped the ball in 2001-2002. It was the time to release a record and unleash a new version of Gnr. They didn’t do it and the rest is what it is.
Yeah, I did kinda sour on Ron trashing the band and being bitter toward the end. I understand where he was coming from, being in that band and being a creative person must be endlessly frustrating but you don’t bite the hand that feeds by crying to the press.

It’s a discord thing and was actually never confirmed. Bill Brasky saying something repearedly doesn’t make it true. Even on your own forum, Broski openly said he didn’t think so.
There has never been any confirmation because you cannot confirm things that never happened.
As to “kill any community…” I have been in the GNR community for 20 years and the only community I have been accused of destroying was GNFNR.
But even then, I have screenshots where JB (the founder, owner of GNFNR) said he felt that Brasky, Black Frog and co were conspiring as a unit to take over his forum.
He banned Brasky, and you (Dadud) unbanned him because you had admin control, and he then nuked the forum as he felt you undermined his authority.
As far as John Bonham was concerned, his reasons for nuking the forum were Brasky, Black Frog and one other conspirator. These thoughts came from him alone without help from me. He said he was “under attack” by said parties
There is no coup without a scapegoat, and you’ve made one of me. Which is great for your regime over there, you’ve painted me as a terrible person, but to come to this site just to harass me is bs.
The fact is I have been a registered member of this community for a year and a half without incident. GNFNR was a toxic place and I should never have joined it
Note also that JB has said that this campaign of demonization of me was a “coordinated stunt” to “manipulate” me and “mess with me”
JB:“no one believes ‘JB nuked the forum because Miser’”
“I think the ending of the joke is to provoke you into doing something stupid”
Bitch this has nothing to do with gnfnr. I literally watched you groom worm (underaged female from the war room) in public. Plus if you want me to, I can pretty easily go find my backup of the gnfnr database and find your private suspiciously pedophilic DMs with JB if you want
The admin of THIS site asked you to stop. Maybe stop?
I don’t have to explain myself to you. I know that I am innocent of what you accuse me of, and anyone who knows me in this community (like ET, JB, others) also know I am. Not everyone is a weak minded fool that believes what Brasky tells them to believe. I feel sorry for you that you’re willfully believing lies and trying to destroy someone because you don’t like them. You have nothing better to do with your life than threaten me and follow me from your forum to this one. I pity you.
That you are so desperate as to resort to implicit blackmail speaks to your (lack of) character as well. No one on that forum or any forum should trust you, because if you decide you don't like them, you have a decade’s worth of data, PMs, threads to hang over their heads. You just revealed the type of person YOU are.
So that being said, if you wanna continue this conversation, take it to PMs with me as James asked. Thanks.

Btw I remember your name from the old MyGNR days. Blast from the past!
Because he was a terrible fit for the band, and the stuff he added to CD was not very good and made the songs worse.
He is great for his stuff outside GNR but he was garbage in GNR.
I tend to agree. I guess I just liked his presence, cause he was very fan friendly, which was sort of a relief from the remoteness and distance the other members had toward the fans

I have seen you around for all those years and you have always been cool. Never saw you cause any issues and you were always a good contributor to any forum I ever saw you in.
I appreciate that a lot, thanks. The same goes for you, I swear I remember you as far back as 2002 (correct me if I’m wrong?), definitely in 2006 though. It’s nice to see an old familiar face, so to speak.

It:
Had an interesting mix of characters in it
Featured cameos from Izzy and Duff at times
Was the most stable lineup since AFD’s, ironically, in terms of longevity / people staying
Featured (during the 2009-2010 tours) the best Axl vocals post 1993
I actually rather miss it; anyone else?

I miss the 2001 lineup heavily. Not in the sense that I wish they were here now, but there was real quality in that band and they were not trying to be a nostalgia act. When you listen to the VMA they sound amazing for a live performance. If Axl hadn't failed that night it might have ended different. Dream scenario they would stick together until 2006, release a few albums and then we get a reunion.
Pitman I was always fond of going back to when he was kind of a meme in the band. He didn't seem like much at first but was underrated like Paul Huge. In theory there should be no issue for him to continue in the reunion, but he had to get drunk and do something stupid and I feel for him.
I agree with the first paragraph but I don’t agree as far as Pitman. I don’t think he added much whereas I feel Huge did. But I definitely agree on nostalgia for the 01-02 lineups. I wish it had worked out

What are your favorite video games, old and new?
I’ll be honest, I’ve been out of the game scene since Xbox 360…
I mainly play older games: the original Diablo, Doom, Legacy of Kain, Quake, things like that
You?
