Exactly, it's just not something for every guy. It did help me build up my confidence though, and that was a feat in and by itself. Monkeychow: try it, really. It doesn't need to end with sex, just seeing the initial results (getting raport, her reaction to the kine stuff, etc...) is more than enough to build up your confidence, which might land you that long-term relationship you want or need.

For me, it was not about getting as much sex as possible, it was about boosting my confidence. And I have to say, it helped enormously: it gave me and edge in both my personal and professional life. It was not about the game, it was about pushing personal boundaries.

DTJ: you might be 'immune' to this, but trust me, most women are not. They don't all give in on the first date, but this definitely works over a couple of dates. Of course, you must select your targets according to your goals: it doesn't take a genius to know you wont be persuading a nun to give up her vow of celibacy wink. Strong principles and moral will always slow down the process, but it effectively builds a bond of trust which you can't distinguish from the real thing.

Supposedly the last two looked like they were trying to set fire to it in the end, that's how fast they were going wink.

I've read some of the speed-seduction books and methods based on NLP that are floating around the internet (Ross something was the fella's name, gives seminars 'n all).

It does work, and I tried it a couple of times back in the day when I was still single. Remarkable stuff. To be honest though, I couldn't shake my severe case of one-itis long enough to develop some real skills. I used some of the confidence boosting material in there, used some of the kino related bits (where you get all touchy-feely in a non-obtrusive, non-threatening way). Some of that stuff even works in the workplace, and god knows I've used it there to effectively double my wage over the course of just three years; going from a meager programming monkey to being Chief R&D Manager.

One thing kept on bothering me all this time though... the methods are not women unfriendly at all, but the language used to describe women is (talking about "game", promoting courtship to a sport of some sort). I never got why that was necessary.

Never trust a Sony backed format, as they have a VERY high failure rate.

Agreed, and considering Sony's rootkit fiasco the vendor lock-in factor isn't much different either, just can't hide me loathing near everything the Gates Empire does or backs. The more things they fail at, the better this world will be off smile.

Hmmm, let's see...

  - I agree with those quoting Pan's Labyrinth.
  - Der Untergang, Das Experiment, Lola Rennt -> excellent German movies!
  - Howl's Moving Castle, just beautiful.
  - De Lift: excellent mid-80's Dutch horror movie! (yes, about an elevator...)
  - Man Bites Dog (not for the faint of heart), very good Belgian flick - so not actually foreign to me, but I reckon James will dig this one (since he likes Baise Moi so much).

And on the topic of Belgian films, have any of you guys ever seen the series called "Matroesjkas" in Dutch, "Matrioshki" or "Russian Dolls" as it's also known? If not, do yourself a favor and look it up. It's about eastern European sex slaves and how they are lured to western Europe with promises of earning big money as Dancers but get forced into prostitution instead. Non Flemish speakers will probably miss some of the 'humor' that accompanies the raw (and very realistic) vibe of this heavy theme due to translation, but I've heard the subtitles are very well done. And a lot of it is in (some sort of) English (with a very strong accent).

Check out the (subtitled) trailer:

I've always wondered why people were still talking about a format war. Here in Europa (well, Belgium at least) Blu-ray has been outselling HD-DVD by a factor of 5 to 1. It's getting difficult to find HD-DVD discs in all but the larger stores and even then it's only like 1 shelf or so...

Good thing too, never trust an MS backed format.

I was there when he did, had no idea what i meant back then, but it was a cool thing to do nonetheless...

you just have to take it for what it is - a site to support Guns N' Roses.  Its not a Velvet Revolver fan site.   Jus like I wouldn't go to VelvetRevolverForum.Com everyday to tell them how bad I think Scott is with VR and how much those guys need Axl.    I really appreciate Jarmo's position on that whole thing over there.. because you have a huge site like MyGnR which is pretty much a Axl hatefest/Slash temple.

I can sort of agree with what you're saying. Nothing wrong with being on Axl's side.
But then there's the whole other part where he removes the Merck letter and all references to it for instance. It's fine to lock things, remove posts filled with hatred towards Axl and his band, etc...
It's not cool to only report on those news tidbits he himself likes, it's definitely not cool censoring those who do.

It would be cool if he was open enough to admit as much. You know, like a big fat warning on the homepage of the site:

"Warning, this site is biased and partial towards Axl and the current incarnation of Guns N' Roses. Therefore we 'filter' all news and remove all items that do not stroke with our beliefs. If you want to make up your own mind, we suggest you at least frequent other sources of GNR related information as well"
