The posts Dave has made over the years used to rile me up a bit, but now I find it all quite silly.
Yes, this is an open forum for open discussion, much more open than any other GN'R forum, but you post your opinions as if they are fact, and apparently anyone who disagrees with you is wrong.
I agree with Natlav, it all just comes across as "look at me, look at me!"
I love how people always claim this, yet I never use the words its a fact......
Isn't the whole point of a discussion forum to make your case so others think point of view is right and others are wrong? The problem with people is I do that too well and the ones who disagree cant make a better case for their point of view they just attack me personally and claim I am posting my opinion as fact.
Its a discussion forum unless someone says its a fact that...... then its an opinion.
I have said this for years, that you dont have to put IMO in front of everything you say since its a given what you are saying is opinion unless you are stating its a fact.
So maybe those people that are claiming I am staying my opinions as facts should do a little better job of making their case.
As for this thread is just a look at me look at me.
Like I said before, and people wonder why I need to repeat myself.
This thread is for people that want to go off topic and bitch about me if I dont like Rons playing in a thread. If you want to cry about it then instead of screwing up the thread with personal shots they can do it here, if they want to discuss and stay on topic why they disagree then they can do it in the thread.
It gets very old when people just cry about someones opinion and just say oh your a troll or hater etc etc then dont even make a post of why you disagree with what I said.
So why let them ruin good discussions just to cry about someones opinion and not add to the discussion, then can do that all they want in this one thread

You have to remember though Robin was in the band first, then BH redid all of Robins parts, then Robin came back and redid some of BHs parts or they just put his old parts back. But BH took the 1999 versions and made them way better.
Just look at what he did for TWAT.
I agree BH should have gotten all of the main solos. I do love Robins TIL solo but I wonder what BHs was like

I used to talk to Patty Hood who did harp on it, and she said that buckethead did the solo when she added harp to the song years ago.
But the album came out and we saw that Robins solo was on there instead.
There is a story that when Robin came back to the band he redid some of BHs solos and that pissed off BH. I am assuming This I Love was one of those solos.
BH and Robin never got along, there is even a video from one of the 2002 shows where they bumped into each other and BH got pissed off. And robin gave him that WTF look.
I guess that is what happens when there are two lead guitar players with the talent of BH and Robin.

Even do an interview with Kurt Loder or what he should so is be the first band to do Conan's new show. That would be a ton of exposure. WE all know Fallon would give him a spot when ever he wanted to.

This I love is a very good song, it just needs another solo in the middle.
BH did the original solo but it was later changed to Robin (this may have been what started the tiff between Bh and Robin) but it would been interesting to hear the BH version of the song.

Axl was still speaking in 1993 maybe not as much as he did before that, but Slash and Duff were still talking.
Axl just needs to start promoting this thing. He has a good backing band, and the tour is going well, he should be proud of that and speak out.

Axl was close with Chinese but it was killed by "time" and business. The best albums were recorded and released within a year....02 would be the mix or time I would want to hear. However, kinda like saying, I wish the Braves still had Maddux, Glavine, and Smoltz.
I agree 100% the 2002 album probably flows much better and sounds much more raw since Axl didn't keep over dubbing parts over the past 6 years. Gnr's ex manager said the CD (the song) cut from 2002 rocks way more than the album version.
I would love to hear that version, the sad thing is, its out there but people are still hoarding. I would also love to hear silkworms from those sessions, that song would be killer in the studio

They really dont need that many. The CD songs could easily be done by just two. The AFD were always done by two. The wall of sound is nice but really is not needed.
I was surprised how little guitar there actually is on CD compared to how many guitar players are on each song.
They really only needed BH and Fortus(or Paul) like they had while Robin was gone.
Adding Robin back really was not needed. It always seems like one of the guitarist are always playing either nothing and just standing there or are doubling up another players parts.
When BH left they could have easily just kept Robin and Fotus and went with that. Fortus proved he can shred. Sure for some of the advanced shredding they could have had problems but they could have changed it up a bit.
