The Bill Price one definitely looks the same. However, it’s an Ampex case with a TDK DAT inside which obviously isn’t right. Sadly it looks like someone kept the real DAT and substituted another one in there.

As I said I'm not even sure where they are, I haven't dug a heap of my old stuff out in years.

The whole hideously expensive AFD boxset has made me start wishing I had a complete chronicled copy of every song out there - just like your list.

FWIW I did share the Q Sound and other Ruff stuff years ago tho wink

I think that sounds like a pretty well educated summary based on what's available out there.

FWIW that Coma mix still didn't have over half of the vocals done by the date on that DAT 2nd November 1990.  There were vocals completely missing and other parts with Axl saying:

"see and this will all be special effects shit"

Or another line

"when all I needed was clarity and somebody else to write some fucking words to this god dam song"

(at least I think that's what he said, I haven't listened to this in years and don't even know where the DAT rips are now, somewhere in the house lol).

So for example with this song most of the music was done by this date but the vocals were still quite a way from being finished.  Still fits with your timeline though, the bulk of the recording probably in mid to late 1990 and then final bits done by early 1991, then just mixing and little tweaks happening after that.

I would call Coma a Demo tho whilst stuff like Estranged were like the DAT's suggest "Rough Mixes" of close to the finished song.

I suppose it doesn't hurt to list what's been "released/leaked/found" even if they are just subtle different takes or mixes.

Now to confuse you here are some more not on your list...

One of the problems I guess you have is determining what’s considered a “demo” and what’s just another “take” of a final song for the album.

How different does a version need to be to be considered a demo. Or do you just list every demo and take out there?

Great list, a lot of work has gone into that.

Re. this:

Mike Clink produced Record Plant Recording Studios - December 16, 1990 - January 16, 1991, other sources say January 18, 1991

I think you can definitely say January 18 1991....

Hey Neemo,

Just saw this, I can get you Hanghaskan if you want.  My son plays  Pokemon on my phone so happy to help if you still need one.

With trading in the game now I can trade you one possibly now if you want, or just catch you one?

I agree Axl and Slash together were the big two.

That said, I imagine that as this tour eventually runs its course and loses steam the next logical way to get renewed interest (in the event new music doesn't happen, which appears to be the case), would be to have an AFD 5 tour.

Hit all those markets all over again and double dip on the $$'s.  Maybe in that event there is more of a case to throw Izzy a bone with some meat still left on it??

I want that big box set but fuck me, it works out at $1,450 AUD.  I would likely also get stung with another 10% GST when it arrives too unless there is an option to buy it locally which i don't believe there is.

That pricing is just a huge stretch to justify.
