This is the GnR section for the current GnR lineup and thats what I'm here for. Sorry if i don't bow down and worship your lil hero. I'm simply not interested in it.
No offense, but if we were only to discuss the late breaking news surrounding the new band, and their musical accomplishments, it would only take 1 thread.

if we were in the VR section, you might have a point. Slash hasn't been in GnR for 11 years. I don't take his word for anything as far as GnR goes.
His book talks about his time in the band. Not what's going on in the band today.
Do you only believe what Axl has to say about pre 96' ?

My girlfriend picked up the book for me over the weekend.
Haven't made it to chapter 8 yet, but so far so good.

Regarding Baz as a has been, I don't agree and think that he will prove alot of people wrong with this album. Those phones were jammed on the Trunk show, I couldn't even get taken for a question so it goes to show that people on a friday night at 12am were all calling in to talk to him mostly, few for Jericho but mostly him.
I disagree. I believe this album will sink faster than the titanic.
Also, there was probably only one person in the studio answering the phone. So if there were 10 people calling in, it would probably seem like alot and be hard to get through.

I'm thinking Spring... like March/April maybe.
I know this much, even though people think the time has come and gone for this album to succeed, I don't. I do however think it's do or die in 08.
I honestly think alot of you guys are just digging for anything at all now. 
Aside from Mysteron and Baz saying so, there is absolutely nothing to suggest that this album is even remotely close to coming out, if at all. Mysteron is a guy who is always very vague and never gives any real information, and Baz is an attention seeker trying to promote his own album. Sorry, but I can't see putting any stock into anything that either of them have to say.
Axl doesn't mention the album, his bandmates aren't allowed to discuss it, no promotion whatsoever, and there is no indication that they are getting ready to tour again anytime soon. All very telling signs if you ask me.

Well at least the band aren't booking any more gigs. seems to me they're serious about getting it out.
But I still can't believe there's been all of this mixing and mastering going on somewhere and yet there's been no rumours, leaks or talk of where the project is.
Just because they aren't booking gigs doesn't mean that they're seriously about releasing this album. They weren't booking gigs in 2003, 2004, and 2005, and now here we are just a couple months from 2008, still with no release date. Hell, they even cancelled gigs a year ago just so they could get the album out. 
The fact that there has been no new leaks is a good indication that this album HAS NOT been mixed and mastered yet. I hate to say it, but I believe we are a looooong ways away from seeing this album surface.
Hope I'm wrong, but I doubt it.

Who is gonna know more about Axl? Someone who actually hangs out with him obviously, I completely believe BAZ and you wanna know why. Cuz if it weren't true, he wouldn't keep saying it. You don't think Axl would put the Kibash on Baz if it weren't true. He most certainly would.
I believe you thinking Baz wouldn't lie is just wishful thinking on your part. Let's face it, the guy is an attention seeker, and I think he is willing to do everything and anything possible to try and get any press that he can. No offense to the guy, but in most people's eyes he is a has-been. His new album sounds like it should have been released in 1989. Nothing fresh or relevant about it whatsoever. Anyone who's thinking that this thing won't flop is not being very logical. If VR's new album didn't sell very well in 2007, this dated sounding album of Baz's sure as hell won't.
I don't believe he's using Axl in a negative way. I'm sure deep-down he likes the guy, but I most certainly think he mentions him as much as he can in an attempt to maximize his own exposure. I'm sure deep down Baz knows most people could give a shit less about him anymore, so he'll do what he needs to do try and sell an album or 2.
Axl doesn't seem to mind telling lies about his own album, I doubt that he minds if Baz does either.

I'd rather buy Izzy's songs twice from itunes vice spending my money on Baz's album.

Didn't Baz say he knew when Chinese D was coming out last year ? 
I really don't bank a whole lot on anything Baz has to say, but assuming he's right and Axl does release "the third album in 2012", that means if Axl puts out 1 album per year for 4 consecutive years, the 1st one still won't come out until 2010.
Like I said, I don't count on this at all, especially since Axl has said himself that the album was coming out in 2002, 2006, and 2007. He doesn't even know if/when he's going to put his 1st one out so how in the hell does he know when he's going to release his third ?
Also, GN'R should be getting inducted into the rock n roll hall of fame in 2012 ...
I wonder if Axl plans on showing up for the induction, because I'm pretty sure Slash, Duff, Izzy, and Steve will be. Hopefully by then everybody will be on better terms.
