'Very Digital.. math like..' - some guy called 'MYWORLD'.
Does this sound like Beltrami (& co.), anyone who is familiar with his work?
& Bri - me too, TBH. Still cool though.
Edit: Balderdash, it was just some guy playing a joke regarding the 'SKUs' leak. Tired tonight. Sorry 'bout that folks.:/
Might not be long to wait though anyway....

Just saw a post in the thread at mygnr saying a 'digital-sounding' song that the ever-mysterious 'they' believe is 'The General' is, err... joining the party.
Anyone?? This was like half-an-hour ago? Guys?

Yeah, 'Paper Planes' is starting to become massive here in the UK. First major hit for her here, I believe. Was number 10 in the Q chart a couple of weeks ago - and the first time she has been on a, IMHO, really good channel.
Top video too. Very catchy chorus.
M.I.A. 'breaking' the country where she is based (I believe?) will obviously be an important step for her. I personally think she will seize her moment; although the commercial 'promo' may now be already there for her anyway.
She's had a hit now. Artists who have hits get remembered, certainly over here. (Iglu & Hartly will be, for instance, due to a strong breakthrough single, if nothing else.)

I don't know why, but that album cover just screams The Cure to me.
I thought the same thing. First reminds me of something The Cure would do(not sure why as they don't have an album cover like that), and like you said the 2nd is like Justice.
First doesn't scream fake even though its a bit drab, and while the second COULD be fake, neither would surprise me as being legit.
If I was going to bet, I'd bet on the first one.
Funny you should say that: because the 'Spanish' are of 'informed' the view that, to from memory quote them, 'Axl's look in 2002 was meant as a tribute to Robert Smith, (of The Cure)'.
If these cover(s) are real - maybe a hint that the 2002-era may feature more prominently than first thought?
(Which again, BTW, just goes to show that is was obviously the best, main era of the 'new' GN'R.)
BTW: James, I'm sure the girl on your (first) album cover is Japanese, not Chinese (the clothes she is wearing seem more like they are Japanese than Chinese - which culturally seems to me to be generally plainer; no offence meant by that of course). Mind you, the 2002 'kamikaze' cover - was that official? - had a Japanese WWII-era kamikaze pilot on; just modified for the CD project. (As MSL would say: Things that make you go) hmmmmmmmm....

Ceefax in the UK was, to my surprise, I'll admit, as it's not yet confirmed, reporting it today. It was on page 506 or something. Said album would come out on November 25, and that the date was official, but in the US only.
UK I would imagine would of course be thereabouts.
Hard to fathom there may only be 6 weeks to go.
Article mentioned 'Shackler's Revenge' as well. Only certainly 'noticeable' IMHO '*promotion*' it's got in the UK thus far. What a waste.
(Ceefax BTW only carries occasional but noteworthy GN'R mentions and the last two were Cogill's arrest and before that Axl's arrest (in Sweden), IIRC. This got a mention in Teletext's international news summary section; last time they were probably in the *news* over here, IIRC.)

c) a DVD of behind the scenes footage
One of the things that the Spanish-speaking people are apparently hoarding is a behind-the-scenes interview with Axl I think after one of the Mexico shows in 2007. I think they said this was/*may* be being released with the album.
I wonder if I will soon be able to add this to the uncanny list of 'things they've got right'.
Anyway, it's been a slow news week.
Are you kidding.:haha:

Ditto.

The hip hop shit is SO 1998.
Ahh, yes... you were the guy who said that 'TWAT' sounds like 'a style of rap that went out of date in 1998' on I think it was mygnr when the song first leaked (by 'wes' - remember him? - in February 2006).
Top assessment. Those times rocked.

Drop the fake insider shtick. No one cares.
You seem to be able to post like a normal member. Do it, because no one here cares about that type of nonsense.
I'll never understand why these fakes were given so much power in the first place. Its obvious that no one knew what the hell was going on. EVER. The fake hoarders are even more pathetic. Only a couple people ever truly had involvement in that, and just the insinuation of anyone else doing so was a cosmic joke.
What 'fake insider'?
This guy told me about the Fernando *rumour* (because I still have yet to see proof of it and am an unbiased person); the CD release in November/December this year; the ANTIQUIET leaks; and various other things. MSL also confirmed that he was legit - or at least part legit. It's easy to forget these things in light of other, current events, but you also found out about these things months in advance of everyone else.
He's also told me the name of the next song that *may* leak and who has it....
So James, what 'fake insider' do you speak of?
My PM box needs a friend by the way.:( *Sniff*, *sniff*....
Also: I think that this is just a song - maybe for separate promo. - that they gave to the movie, and that 'Shackler' is still the first single. Just my two cents.

Oh, and the movie (I don't know if it's out yet) Death Racer or something is using 'WTTJ' as one of it's promo themes. How often can this track be used in films/TV shows/etc.? Just never loses it's appeal - and the only song on CD that comes close to this in my view is the song 'CD' itself.
AR with $13mill already invested its a commercial failure...there needs to be clever marketing in place to recoup that cost...but do we really need to rehash that old conversation again?
I'm not sure if I've seen it mentioned anywhere before. It certainly is an odd strategy - though kind of similar to the big-selling AFD when I think about it. Release; and let the buyers do the rest. Trouble is, today it's downloaders. Hmmm....
