#61 Re: Guns N' Roses » Can anyone identify the source of this pic? (maybe CD cover related?) » 879 weeks ago
So we're certain it was something fan made? No worries if that's the case - like I said, I just wanted to get some insight as to its origins. Does anyone remember if, at the time, the image also had those same artifacts and plastic tabs at the bottom / top of it which imply placement in a CD case before being scanned?
Thanks!

I'd tell you more about it but I honestly don't know.. so, I'm relying on the help of others to see if anyone has any insight.
Please note the scan artifacts, light reflection in the upper right corner, and the little tabs that make it LOOK like its from the inside liner of a CD case. I do not know if that's the case - that's why I'm asking others for any additional info they have.

I've heard rumblings that its out there with a couple of people - but that's just from my offline conversations with a few people. At least one person supposedly played a guitarish intro with an Axl scream (over the phone to a potential trader) but who knows how accurate the description is - let alone if the track the person played is real. (The person who it was played for, on the other hand, I have no doubt about - if they say they heard 'x' then they heard 'x' - period)

I still say *IF* it shows up on iTunes (and that is in no way a guarantee) and on radio then it will show up at the EARLIEST the same day RB II is released. As a matter of fact - a true 'marketing blitz' at that time wouldn't surprise me in the least. I'd love to be able to actually hear some PR flunkie say "Chinese Democracy starts NOW!"

Why is it so hard? Some guy was offering all of that years ago. Did he delete his accounts at the forums?
Well, let me put it this way - at the time, I had stuff to offer that would be considered a 'coup' - and no one bit. I think the primary reason was the individual knew (not like its some big secret) that if I got my hands on it I'd have no issues ensuring the entire community had it - just not a couple people who felt 'special'. I can not STAND the hoarding mentality. The only time I've ever held onto something before releasing it 'to the masses' is when I used it as bait or leverage to get my hands on something else. Hoarders hate me because, well, I tend to F up their plans, a lot :-P

It is - My pre-order is paid in full and will be picked up on day one. (Fortunately, I already own RB for the 360 and have all the instruments). Besides, we want to get the Ion Premium drum set when it comes out so getting another 'bundle' would be kind of pointless, anyway. The first RB is hell of a lot of fun, so hopefully RB II follows suit.

As far as I can tell, as of this evening, the game is not delayed. The October date has always been for the 'special edition' (as in, the one with the instruments) and the September date has been for the 'game only'. If this has changed, it has changed very recently (as in, after about 1 PM today, which is when I last had confirmation of said date from someone who works within the game industry)
So - while a delay is possible, I don't believe its going to happen.
I do think there will be an iTunes / Radio release, too - but it would probably correspond with the day / date of RB II - or perhaps the following Tuesday? (September 14th as currently scheduled)

This is the link for the 'game only' which, as you can see, is still listed for a September 14th release.

Correct, in this instance, the term 'going gold' means going to production. My guess is we have a leak within two weeks or so?
Again - do not be at all surprised if it happens sooner than that.
