I love their rendition of this song. Very stripped down with mostly orchestral and acoustic backing in the studio version. Immortalized is also a pretty solid album overall. I do want to see them live so badly.
Never listened to them much. They used to be blasting around an arcade I used to play pool in back in the early 2000s.
Disturbed, Linkin Park, Korn all that Nu-Metal movement. I remember their version of shout. Loved it. But this is better.
I remember hearing a couple Simon & Garfunkle marks shitting on it. Then I heard it... I think Disturbed's version is better
It's certainly the better rock single i've heard in awhile. Really follows and sticks with you. Not to mention Disturbed has been out of the game for awhile. This is a big comeback for them.
I agree. We all knew the Sound of Silence, it is a big and well known song. But I never understood what it as about or the meaning behind it until I heard Draiman singing the lines "Fool said I you do not know, Silence Like a Cancer grows".
And that Neon God line.
This is a cover on par with Johnny Cash's version of hurt.

Holy shit, I just saw a commercial for the GNR tour on CNN! That is quite the promotion. Never expected to see that.
Jesus. It almost feels like Axl was unhappy calling the non Slash/Duff lineups GNR. He's got no problem with promoting the band now that they are back.

i want me some Human Being if TSI is getting some more representation on this tour.

QFT.
I dunno, I think they did Sorum dirty. I mean, Frank? C'mon, they could have told him their passing on him & getting Sorum &/or Adler in. My guess is Axl would only give Slash & Duff equal share if he had final say in the rest of the lineup, or something like that.
It's not a game changer for me, but realistically GnR could've easily brought back in Sorum. I agree there's probably some personality clash or Axl didn't want it too much old UYI/VR back in.
As a guy who loved old guns but still enjoyed CD, I'd say better is my 3rd favourite GNR song, I like this lineup.
It honors what was great in both eras for me.
#66 Re: Guns N' Roses » This I Love (guitar solo debate) » 479 weeks ago
I prefer Slash as a guitarist but I really liked Robin's solo.
I expect Slash's to get better though.
Seems overstated at the moment.
Axl's vocals live get my vote for better performance than the album version though.
I'm going to wait to vote because I know I'll love Slash's solo when its taken more shape.

There is more than religion involved but nonetheless being the wrong religion on the wrong side of town can get you killed in some cases.
Sounds more mafia or gang related like Bloods vs Crypts.
The drugs guys keep to themselves.
This is full out sectarian violence:

Doesn't fill you with a lot of hope, does it? Vis a vis other conflicts of a similar type around the world. Here I was thinking that shit had joined the ranks of the German RAF in history because the news isn't reporting it anymore. Guess not.
It's chilling isn't it? People being killed over nothing. Really shows the power of the media too. Living in this country really gives you a weird perspective on the world. It's just so full of contradictions like this.

They still blow people up in NI, wow. That's really weird not to report here across the sea. How often does it happen?
Someone dies maybe every 2 or 3 years. Bomb scares and controlled detonations are monthly. It isn't as bad as it was back in the day but I avoid the North like a hole the head.
The actual numbers are very high 69 bombs found in public places in 2014 alone and 99 in 2010. I haven't seen any stats for the last 2 years but I've heard they are higher.
69 bombs in 2014.... If that was in any other Western country there would be outcry.

The guy from my last post who had supposedly "minor injuries" died a few weeks later. The press really plays this stuff down.

The shit is likely to hit the fan next week on the anniversary of the 1916 rising.
Northern Ireland is still quite messy.
