Yeah it's a good list. Only problem I'd see with it is alot of those songs are 7-8 minutes long, especially on Disc 1, so you might have to cut even a few more off.

I like how the cd's switch at Sandman/Black Album. That was a real change for the band, and turning point. I'd like to see the GH reflect that.

^^ That's interesting how we perceive others by their posts. I'm sure it's partly accurate, partly innacurate.

Yeah, at times I can be painfully shy. Get me in a group of four or ten, I'd be the one who talks the least. One thing I could never do was ask a girl out. Uggghhhh so many missed opportunities there. Girls at work, bars, places I'd go while shopping for stuff.  Just this past Friday I was at the gym which was completely empty & I thought of asking the girl working there if she had plans afterwards (since it was a Friday night), anyway I didn't. I chickened out, went home & ate a pizza & a few beers. Such is life.

#6873 Re: The Garden » Self Esteem » 959 weeks ago

Honestly I have pretty low self-esteem. I don't really want to get into exactly why & all that, it just is, and always has been. Sure there's times I feel like the man, but it's just weak & shallow & doesn't last. I always second guess myself & things I say. I'm actually pretty shy, but in the last few years I sometimes just choose to not talk to people. It comes off better that way for me to intentionally not talk to people, than be shy.

Did it affect my relationships, yes. I'm perenially single, feel awkward when I'm out on dates, and not sure I have the confidence to maintain a long, healthy, serious relationship.

I love that song. I thought it was a song by Sarah Mclachlan for years, and I could never find it. I heard it on a Halle Berry movie awhile back and made sure to watch the credits. Found out it was from Dido so I went and downloaded it.

Oddly enough that's pretty much how Eminem came into contact with that song. I remember seeing something on TV about a hip-hop prducer was watching a movie (probably same movie) and heard that song during the credits. He felt it would be a great backdrop to a hip-hop beat & created a sample using it. I think Eminems producer or Dre or someone heard the sample & liked it. The rest is history. Or "Stan".

#6875 Re: The Garden » Looking for attractive people? Don't go to Philly » 959 weeks ago

Wahhhhhhhhhh Philadelphia was ranked last. Wahhhhhhhhhhh San Diego & Miami people are prettier than us, wahhhhhhhhhhhhhh!!!

These surveys are useless, and only self effacing people from higher ranked cities care about it ('Yeahhh, we're the most attractive'). The Most Overweight City survey did become a little bit of a big deal here, mainly because I'm not very surprised,  there are some obese people around on a daily basis. But most/least attractive, that's just stupid & ignorant.  I'd like to see how those cities rank in "shopping, food, culture, and cityscape".  Aside from cubans there is no culture or cityscape in Miami. There's not really an economy, it's just old people  & ex-New Yorkers who move down for the nicer weather.

I stay here not for the "unattractive" people (It's Philly, we love the underdog) but for the reasons it ranked high, affordability (7th, next big city, Chicago at 13) dining (5th) & mostly my friends & family are here. It's a hard working, blue collar, democratic city. You want nice resturants, a house for 200k or rent for $800, move here. You want to eat at Applebee's or Houlihans for a night out, or spend astromical amounts to live in San Diego with the pretty people, by all means do so. Enjoy your Pizza Hut.

Besides, I can eat one of these any time I feel like it.

Yeah 5 in a row is nothing to sneeze at.

I'm sick of the whole NE thing. I seriously think Washington could pull an upset if too much talk is made about NE facing the Colts undefeated in two weeks. It happened back in 90 with SF & NYG facing each other in week 11. They both lost in week 10 & were 10-1 instead of 11-0 or something.

#6877 Re: The Garden » The NFL 2007-08 Season thread » 959 weeks ago

I think the Bengals had some late 4th qtr comeback rally. Yeah, I could've sworn they lost but after the Eagels Bears game I saw they won. I haven't watched the Rams, but if they're worse than Miami that's really bad.

I agree with you this playoff system is flawed. 4 division winners ?? and only 2 wildcard teams. That's fucked up. They should think about revising it or going back to 3 divisions, not 4.

Eagles blew it. Seasons all but over for them, which sucks this early in the season but at 2-4 with 2 games against the Cowboys & 1 against NE and others (Seatlle, Minn, NYG, Wash etc) it isn't looking good.

Wow did I f*$& up this week!! I bet I only got about 30 points right. Indy has to win tonight. Regardless, I took a nosedive this week I'm sure.

#6879 Re: Guns N' Roses » If "Chinese Democracy" Was A Slash Thing...? » 959 weeks ago

^^ Lay off him. I have no problem mentioning Slash with Hendrix. ESPECIALLY since he was comparing him in terms of sloppiness. If anything, I'd say Page & Hendrix were sloppier than Slash. I'm sure part of it was the times they played & improvement on production quality & the recording processes, but still it's a fair analogy. No "line" was crossed.

As to the question, I don't think so, mainly because who would be the singer?? Unless he had been working with a top notch singer like Layne Staley or Anthony Kiedis on this project or something, no label would have given him very much of an advance.

#6880 Re: Dust N' Bones & Cyborg Slunks » A.X.L. » 959 weeks ago

I guess it's the high school version of the band he was in. Then, in 1983 he moved to LA & formed the new version of the band (w/Tracii Guns & Chris Weber). I suppose fans back then called them Nu-A.X.L (j/k)
