I just think it's funny that the same head shots that Flyers fans cried foul over when Lindros was pummeled are the same ones that they're complaining about being penalized for.  You can't have it both ways.

Actually "most' people around here agree they have been dirty hits. As for Clarke, in years past yes. He recruited players like that (I think we were the last NHL team to eventually have a Russian. It was only a couple years ago, he refused to sign them & that style of play). But he was fired last season, and now is only part of the team in title only (VP of Operations or something). Paul Holmgren is GM & rebuilt this seasons team with alot of turnover.

As for penalties, I don't believe in fining teams or coaches. It doesn't do much. You'd have to fine a coach like several hundred grand or the team a few million for it to have an impact. Which they'd never do. $25,000 doesn't do anything. Withhold their draft picks. You're right though, they'd never do it, but I think it would have a better impact than a measely fine.

Yeah, that was a cheap shot on Lindros, but legal. Sucks that it basically ended his career.  He was never the same player again.

Oh I agree that it will come to the point where there will be a bounty on Brady's head. But if you dont want them running the score up, then stop them.

True, but it works both ways, if you don't want your QB to be a target for the rest of the league to take his head off, don't be an ass & run up the score. Nobody's going to be going after Jason Campbell this season, or Peyton, or Rothleisburger.. So I wonder why anybody would be licking their chops to get a good shot in on Brady. Gee, I wonder why?

Going for it on 4th down in the 4th quarter while they were up 42 points?!

whatever

Yeah and when Tom Brady throws his next interception, he's a free target. And allowed to get his ass clocked by a 260 lb linebacker. Just remember that. wink

That show got cancelled?! I remember hearing alot of hype behind it, and supposedly it was pretty good. I think what hurt it was it & 30 Rock have a similar concept (behind the scenes of a television series), and NBC chose to 'push' 30 Rock by placing it on Thursdays, leaving Studio 60 hanging out to dry on Mondays or Tuesdays or whatever.

Neemo I'd go with the Wii if I were you. Your daughter will love it, it comes with a few fun games like bowling, golf & tennis, and Axl S is right, it;'s great for social gatherings (her birthdays, friends etc). Just MHO.

I couldn't tell for sure, but it looked like Gibbs ran off the field without greeting Belicheck after the game.  I don't blame him.

It's funny you say that, I could have sworn that happened last week w/Miami. Belicheck came to mid-field & was looking around (for Miami's coach) and waited for a while, then he walked away & shook afew hands & spoke to a few people. Never saw Miami's coach at all then they cut to commercial. It wouldn't surprise me if Gibbs did the same.

Worst day of the year, Sunday after change back the clocks day. The best day is the Monday after Spring Forward, getting out of work & still having daylight again. Only the US moved it too far forward this year, it's like late-February now. Still cold & it sucks out.

They're not going to suspend the coach "for a few weeks"

I'm not a huge hockey  fan, but I agree this is out of hand. Something should be looked into. The weird thing is this is the first years in decades (pretty much ever) that the Flyers went away from the big muckers & grinders type players & went small & with speed. Finally giving in to the new style of hockey.

Once is an incident, twice is a trend, but three times is a pattern. I think the NHL should warn them & once more they lose a decent draft pick (2nd or 3rd rd).
