I half think this cloning business is a sham... What's stopping them from finding an animal that looks like the dead one and then attributing its temperamental differences to the way it was raised?

Last time my mac crashed? Maybe a year ago. Can't remember.
I'm on a 5 year old PC desktop that's been running XP since day one and I've only formatted once (by choice, too, I might add). I've never had any issues with it. Sometimes it doesn't reboot properly, but other than that it's solid.
My laptop's almost a year old and it runs Vista. I haven't had any problems with that either, and I even let automatic updates run through and everything. I don't know if I'm lucky when it comes to computers but I'm a bit of a nerd so when I say I haven't had problems it's likely because I take my time and try to solve them before things get out of hand.
Meanwhile, I don't think any of the hardware issues listed above have anything to do with operating systems.

People will realize that although genes are very important, they'll never get the same pet or human being they miss, because not only genes but life forms who and what we are.
That's a good point. It would be very cool to observe which traits are different in the end though, so we can see exactly what is caused by nature and what is caused by nurture.

It's time to start cloning people already. Until they clone people, I don't believe cloning technology exists.
