Why be happy with some brand cola when you can have classic coke?
Dump fortus n Frank asap get the real deal in. Fortus shouldn't even be there Franks only in due to questions over Steven but he's shown he can cut it, shoulda been given a couple of shots at a full rehearsal before just sticking with Frank. If Steven had sailed thru those rehearsals then give him the gig. Maybe next year hopefully..

HDYS was Lennon's commentary on McCartney's post-Beatles career. He felt McCartney went too commercial with musical direction (an attitude shared by the music press at the time, despite the commercial success).

HDYS was in response to coded messages McCartney had in some of his lyrics on Ram.

I don't really see the connection between it & Citr.
I'm not saying it's not there. Another Day is a McCartney song & maybe one of those with lyrics aimed at John.

To me Citr has always, for the most part, been about the book & Holden caulfield & the personality traits we all have in common, and those we don't, & the connections we're unable to make or keep ahold of. Disillusionment and isolation. The "On and ordinary day.." verse is exceptional tho.
Obviously Chapman & Lennon are inextricably linked and cast a pall over the atmosphere of the song, with the only real reference reserved for the final verse.

Never been my cup of tea tbh. Too convoluted, overly complex, confused/confusing. I get the appeal tho, not every song can be a Think About You. People like to dig into these things over multiple listens and such. This track has never appealed to me in such a way.
I admire the ambition & the vision he's aiming for, aiming to express. Just doesn't make it for me.

Not that it's stopped me from adopting "you decide, cause I don't have to" as a annoying catchphrase (tho nowhere near as annoying as, "I'm sorry for you.. Not sorry for me" wink ).

Fwiw this is my favourite reference on CD

Or maybe I don't give him enough.

You're too cynical. Most fans are.

Axl is guilty of things, but people especially on the Internet make things up. Especially fans.

Izzy was on the last tour, he's on almost every tour and never seemed to care about who was or wasn't in the band. He'll probably show randomly for a show or two this tour whether he plans to currently or not.

Well I didn't say axl definitely did it, I just said I wouldn't be surprised if he did. You can't deny the possibility exists that he's responsible for it being pulled?

Axl is guilty of things. But fans are always willing to defend him without justification.
& this is history repeating itself.

Izzy was first brought on board to try & legitimise axls floundering Chinese project. You think he just rocked up randomly & knocked on the door asking if he could play? Him n axl catch up on old times on the mean streets of Lafayette? These things are decided well in advance, with a fee agreed upon.. He never seemed to care before who was in the band because slash & duff weren't there! & he was getting paid what he thought was fair..

I doubt Axl went backstage and told security to get the Izzy sign.

Izzy's been almost every tour with whatever line-up, including the last set of shows in 2014. I have difficulty believing Axl thought that much of it.

I agree I think he probably thought nothing more about it after he made the comment.  I don't think for a second he went backstage and told security to act on it.

Not sure why his people don't take a similar attitude tho??.

Yea p much agree with the consensus. Tbh that £100million is still mostly a mixture of big mouth hype from his agent & that elusive "potential". Tbh I think he's old enough now that he needed to start delivering on the promise of that potential, but it hasn't really happened.

This tournament has shown one thing, he is not a deep lying central midfielder. He is much more effective played further forward. He just doesn't have the brain or discipline to play the role that deschamps asked of him. But when further forward when he can rely on his instinctive skill he offers more.

Disappointed in him this tournament.
If you really must pay £100million spend it on griezmann. He dragged France to the final.

Hard to begrudge Portugal as a country, long overdue really they're a great football nation.
What an unlikable team they've done it with, bunch of wankers!

#608 Re: The Garden » EURO 2016 Thread » 537 weeks ago

Fuckin football. So many times had to flick over pissed off not able to watch celebrations - last time was real & cron winning champ league..

I'll watch tonight tho Portugal been better this extra time, France deserve it for their profligacy & bringing on shite like coman.

Portugal after all these years finally get a centre forward to deliver.. after losing their best player.

#609 Re: The Garden » EURO 2016 Thread » 537 weeks ago

Portugal have been shocking. Surely folk like polluxlm should reevaluate their thinking on this display. Boring boring bastards. France have done all the running, all the creating, all the attacking only their profligacy let them down. Portugal look like they don't want to try to score.

#610 Re: The Garden » EURO 2016 Thread » 537 weeks ago

Or unless you don't support England ^ wink

It's crap when you can't be on for the underdog, can't cheer for a side who has never won anything. But yea.. How could you support that shower?!

They're the fucking Greece of this years euro's. & I could call them worse. I have called them worse!
Portugal are a decent team don't get me wrong.. it's just they're such a bunch of cunts!
