Well the stooges are my 2nd favourite American band.. Possibly my first depending on my mood..
But I don't like the gnr version. (& besides the real stooges are on the first two albums with Ron Ashton on lead: the heavyweight riff champion of the world).
New Rose is just a better fit than the other two. For Duff & GnR.
+ the damned were a great band. & it was a proper hit record too.
Attitude's one I've always found a bit boring. Misfits, American punk, were never really my thing. A bit too cartoony & lacking ideas. American punk is very much The Monkees to the British punk's Beatles. Some hardcore is alright but I always found the Misfits were too cartoony and had no tunes.

100% correct, and well put. As much as I hate Erdogan and the damage he's doing to his country, he has the support of a large part of his people and is their democratically elected leader; the military should respect that. Selfishly, I would've preferred the coup to have been successful though. It's disconcerting to see him abusing this coup to push through even more authoritarian legislation.
There you. You can't have it both ways.
The line has been drawn for me.
Don't get me wrong, I believe in democracy, even tho I've been on the losing side of every vote I've taken part in bar 1! (I just don't think we see true democracy in action very often. More often you see an abuse of it).
But the line for me is pretty clear here.

I love DC but it's not even close or a tough decision. Patience.

On the otherhand had holiday resort Turkey destabilized and ended up like most of the middle east then well... it wouldn't have been good either.
It's already well on the road to that sort of state. I tell you it's a sympathetic caliphate where freedoms are being reversed at every cut and turn in the name of religion. The attitudes of its government and some of its people are insane and represent a danger to us. Well maybe not us stationed away over here but our continental cousins.

No military should ever take over control of their country. Civilian control of the military is crucial to any democracy.
That's a weird thing to say anyway. As in it's never right for a military to step in & protect its own people from an oppressive government/leader? Surely the fundamental point of a military is to protect its countries people, mine that from threats inside or out.

Turkey has a history of successful coups. They don't live under a military regime, they give the country back to the people. They shoulda grabbed erdogan first. Everyone knows this! If you're gonna carry out a coup cut off the head first..
The enemy of my enemy..

It's been such a horrible fuckin week that our problems seem insignificant in comparison. At least we're finally getting a bit of summer. Somehow managed to get my eyelids sunburned yesterday.

A good result woulda been for the coup to have succeeded and disposed this medieval motherfucker.
Turkey was a true secular democracy until recently. This guy appeals to the lowest common denominator and uses his bastardised religion as a vehicle to transform the country into some increasingly wicked & increasingly dangerous caliphate.

I still maintain Bucket and Slash are way more alike than most people want to admit for some reason. They can both sound like each other at will, it seems.
It's the soul of the men. They're a conduit, tapped into a shared subconscious able to communicate thru their playing n tone things we mortals can't communicate. They prob can communicate it either without an axe in their hand.
& yea I love that Sorry solo too. Not as much as twat mind. But it's one of the great bluesy, soulful moments in the guns catalogue, and definitely a true connection to Slash.
