you're right...there is no difference...and to be honest...it's really low my list of things to worry about...
you're right...the media did blow it out of proportion...it really doesn't matter in the big picture...
I just completely disagree with anyone who believes this is okay to do to another person/group of people.

I'll garuntee you that the primary purpose of high school sports is not competition. It's ONE of the purposes...not the ONLY.
I really don't get how this is so hard for some of you to understand. You sound like people who would just walk over a man having a heart attack laying on the street and carry on with your day.
The winning and losing is not the issue...and don't try to make it the issue...it's the disrespect...you prove NOTHING by beating a lesser team by 100 points...absolutely NOTHING.

I personally have not seen anything this guy did that was overly wrong. At least not enough that I should care.
But the neo-cons on Fox News have sure had a field day with it. This poor guy was being called Blagsonofabitch and trashed, before anyone truely knew what he did wrong.

Why do you all assume that's the only reason...I believe the original poster admitted that there is probably more to the story...
Those names raise a flag and draw attention to the situation...more had to be occurring for these steps to be taken...no legal government agency would approve such a move based on names alone. I think you're all being naive to think that was the sole reason for the action that was taken.

And your point is? Naming their child that does not mean they are horrible and abusive parents and their children need to be taken away. Unless they had sound proof the children were being abused, they had no right to break up that family.
I'd find it offensive if someone named their child Paris Hilton Campbell, but that doesn't mean the child needs to be taken away just because the person he/she was named after is an awful excuse for a human being.
And i know it's a jump to compare Hitler and Paris, but the same principles apply. There will always be people in this world that hate other groups of people, by all accounts these parents fall in that category, but that doesn't make them unfit parents.
And what's your point? these people with good intentions go into the child welfare business...and they're damned if they do and damned if the don't.
Imagine six years from now when the parents are given this kid a swastika (sp?) tatoo...and you'd be saying...where was child services?
or...six years from now they're perfectly normal...with wonderful social skills and socially stigmatized names...
You all have the benefit of hindsight bias and arm-chair quarterbacking up difficult decisions...I think erring on the side of caution in this case was the way to go...

My thoughts are that Axl needs to stop beating a Dead Horse now with CD. For whatever reason they just couldn't get their act together with this damn thing and the ship has sailed. It's a shame coz I think it's a solid album when held against other shit on offer today.
I mean fuck people you have a video ready to release to coincide with the single when it's released. How long ago now was Better released as a single???
I'm sorry but I just really can't understand what is so fucking hard about this whole thing. Regardless of legal and other bullshit someone with a strong sense of leadership would get all this shit done irrespective of the obstacles thrown at them. He's not the first artist to have a lovers tiffs and legal arguements with old band members. I would love to be enlightened as to what is so bloody difficult and what is causing them so much trouble.
Axl is a fanstastic artist but he is not a managers fucken asshole. He needs to recognise this and bloody give up some control and delegate to some decent people, then most importantly listen to what these people tell him to do. I'm sure that may mean having to do some things that he may not entirely like or feel could be done a different way. Too bad - suck it up, the worlds not going to end.
My only thought with this Better video is if there is some truth in the rumour that after the 6 month best buy exclusive ends, he's gonna release HIS version of the album, artwork etc. Then he's going to actually promote with a video etc etc. Not saying it will work but perhaps that's what he's going to do. Although that would certainly screw over Azoff's relationship with BB - although some would argue that the CD fiasco has already done that.
Wow...I don't see this at all...releasing his own version of the album??? All this intricate plans...

no business sense? this album's release has been ALL business. that's the problem. we don't even know if axl wants super stardom any more or if he plans to go after it later and was content burrying cd. if that is the case, everybody involved got what they wanted as far as money goes and went on vacation. i'd be questioning best buy's business sense, myself. the question then becomes: how many people that bought cd at best buy bought anything else?

Here's another question I would hope someone would answer:
What is the deal with the WWE and Randy Savage? Vince has basically given everyone a second chance from Hogan to Nash to RVD. He brought in guys who were successful in WCW (except Sting) and gave them a run in WWE. He rehired Warrior in 1996 (for a short time). What exactly is the issue between Savage and Mchmahon? Apparently, people don't bring up Savage's name when Vince is around because they know it will piss him off. The only thing that I've read that makes some sense is that Vince thought Savage would return to WWE in 1996 at Survivor Series, but he chose instead to remain in WCW.
There has been a rumor around the internet for the past few years that Macho Man, sometime very late in in WWF career, had sexual relations with Stephanie McMahon...this would put Steph at somewhere around the age of 18 (1993-94).
There is no confirmation or denial of this rumor...and I doubt it will ever be acknowledged whether it's true or not. This would be incredibly stupid of the Macho Man...and would explain his rather abrupt and unmemorable departure from the WWF.
