#42 Guns N' Roses » DJ ASHBA Hopes STEVEN ADLER And IZZY STRADLIN Will Be Part Of GUNS N' » 487 weeks ago

Former GUNS N' ROSES and current SIXX: A.M. guitarist DJ Ashba says that he "loves" the fact that that a partial reunion of GN'R's classic lineup is finally coming together, but hopes that Steven Adler and Izzy Stradlin will also be involved in the band's return.

Ashba, who joined GUNS N' ROSES in March 2009 following the departure of Robin Finck and stayed in the band until last July, was asked during a question-and-answer session on SIXX: A.M.'s Facebook page how he feels about GNR's reunion and guitarist Slash. Ashba responded: "I love it for the fans. However, I hope they bring in Steven, Izzy and even Matt [Sorum] and Gilby [Clarke]!" He added: "I've always been a fan of Slash's playing; that was a big reason why I took the gig!"

GUNS N' ROSES has so far announced six headlining performances in April, including two in Las Vegas and two at California's Coachella Valley Music and Arts Festival, with singer Axl Rose, guitarist Slash and bassist Duff McKagan slated to perform together again for the first time in 22 years.

The rest of the band's lineup for the shows — and a potential tour later in the year — remains unclear, although keyboardist Dizzy Reed, guitarist Richard Fortus, keyboard player Chris Pitman and drummer Frank Ferrer are all believed to be involved.

According to Alternative Nation, there is an "oversight management committee" handling GN'R's affair, with Slash, Axl and Duff each having a representative and a fourth person representing the other members.

Fan speculation around the involvement of original members Izzy Stradlin (guitar) and Steven Adler (drums) has been heavy, with Stradlin reportedly not interested in doing extensive touring and the band members not sure whether Adler, who has a longer history of drug problems than any of the other members, can hold it together on the road.

Ashba issued a statement in July 2015 saying that he was leaving GUNS N' ROSES. His statement read in part: "It is with a very heavy heart and yet great pride that I announce that I've decided to close this chapter of my life and encapsulate the wonderful times that I've shared with GUNS N' ROSES into fond memories. I have reached a point in my life where I feel its time to dedicate myself to my band SIXX: A.M., my adoring wife and family, and to the many new adventures that the future holds for me."

Ashba added: "I want to take a moment to thank Axl from the bottom of my heart for not only the most incredible experience of my life, but for truly believing in me. You are a true friend and a champion of mine and I am forever grateful. And even as I move on to pursue other endeavors, I will always remain one of your biggest fans. I also would like to thank each and every one of you fans for your love and support throughout the years."

Ashba said earlier in his statement that working with GUNS N' ROSES was "the most incredible journey I could have possibly imagined."

#43 Guns N' Roses » Former GUNS N' ROSES Manager Denies Pressuring AXL ROSE To Reunite Cla » 488 weeks ago

Former GUNS N' ROSES manager Irving Azoff has denied that he tried to pressure the band's lead singer, Axl Rose, into reuniting the original lineup of the group, explaining that "nobody tells Axl to do anything."

Rose was sued by Front Line Management in March 2010 for nearly $2 million dollars in unpaid commissions. The company filed a lawsuit in Los Angeles, claiming that Rose owed the company $1.9 million, or 15 percent of the more than $12 million that Rose had earned from performances in Europe, Canada and South America, based on an oral agreement.

Rose responded by filing a countersuit that claimed Azoff tried to bully Rose into doing a reunion tour with the original GUNS lineup. According to The Pulse of Radio, Rose claimed in his suit that Azoff did everything he could to sabotage the most recent version of GUNS after Rose said no to the reunion idea, alleging that Azoff tried "devising and implementing a secret plan to set up Rose and the band for failure so that Rose would have no choice but to reunite with the original GUNS N' ROSES members."

Rose's suit added, "Upon realizing that he couldn't bully Rose and accomplish his scheme, Azoff resigned and abandoned GUNS N' ROSES on the eve of a major tour, filing suit for commissions he didn't earn and had no right to receive."

In a brand new interview with The New York Times, Azoff was asked about Axl's claim that that the manager had tried to pressure the singer into reuniting the original GN'R lineup. Azoff responded: "I would never go to an artist and say, 'I want you to reunite.' If he had asked me if I thought it was a good idea, I would have said yes. But by the way, nobody tells Axl to do anything. He does what he wants to do."

Azoff also commented on the recent announcement that Rose was reuniting with GUNS N' ROSES guitarist Slash and bassist Duff McKagan to play a number of shows later this year, including two at California's Coachella Valley Music and Arts Festival in April. He said: "Slash and Duff McKagan are terrific people. Axl is a complicated individual that I wish nothing but success for. I think this is a good historical moment that the public deserves to see. I hope it happens."

Rose and Azoff settled their lawsuits in June 2011 concerning commissions and concert touring.

In October 2010, Azoff filed an official answer to Rose's charges by asserting 14 affirmative defenses to Rose's claims he breached fiduciary duty, committed constructive fraud and breached a contract. According to The Hollywood Reporter, Azoff stated in his response that Rose claims "are barred by statute of limitations; there was a waiver; There was an accord and satisfaction; that Rose consented to Azoff's actions; that Rose failed to take reasonable steps to mitigate the damage; and that any harm that came to Rose was due to the singer's own negligence, fraud or misconduct."

According to The Pulse Of Radio, the latest rumor emanating from MyGNRForum.com regarding the GUNS N' ROSES reunion says that founding guitarist Izzy Stradlin will participate "for sure" in what has been described as a "limited" capacity. Stradlin seems like he will at least perform with the group at its two early April shows in Las Vegas, although whether he will appear at other gigs remains to be seen.

The same sources at the fan forum also said that there was "still discussion" about original drummer Steven Adler participating in the reunion at some level, while the name of his replacement, Matt Sorum, did not come up in the conversation.

GUNS N' ROSES has so far announced five headlining performances in April, including two in Las Vegas and two at California's Coachella Valley Music and Arts Festival, with original members Axl Rose, Slash and Duff McKagan slated to perform together again for the first time in 22 years.

The rest of the band's lineup for the shows — and a potential tour later in the year — remains unclear, although keyboardist Dizzy Reed, guitarist Richard Fortus, keyboard player Chris Pitman and drummer Frank Ferrer are all believed to be involved.

#45 Guns N' Roses » ALICE COOPER Weighs In On GUNS N' ROSES Reunion: 'Why Isn't IZZY In Th » 489 weeks ago

Legendary rocker Alice Cooper has weighed in on the partial reunion of the classic lineup of GUNS N' ROSES, telling Rolling Stone magazine that the Axl Rose-fronted group "is always unpredictable, which makes them exciting."

GUNS N' ROSES — featuring Axl alongside guitarist Slash and bassist Duff McKagan — will play on April 8 and April 9 at the new T-Mobile Arena in Las Vegas before headlining California's Coachella Music And Arts Festival on April 16 and April 23.

Cooper, who took GUNS N' ROSES out on the road with him in 1987, shortly after the release of "Appetite For Destruction", told Rolling Stone: "I had a feeling [the GUNS N' ROSES reunion] was going to happen. GUNS N' ROSES is always unpredictable, which makes them exciting. I think those gigs will go through."

He added: "I'm just wondering why isn't Izzy [Stradlin, guitar] in there?" he says. "I don't know about drums, but certainly Izzy is viable. You'd think if Slash and Axl are working together — and Duff is one of those guys that gets along with everybody — then at least Izzy would be one of the guys who would be a shoo-in.

"And maybe he is, I don't know," Cooper continued. "I don't what their setup is with him. But it's like not having Brian Jones with THE ROLLING STONES, if he were available."

GUNS N' ROSES is reportedly negotiating with promoters to play as many as 25 stadiums in North America this summer. For the tour, GN'R is said to be asking as much as $3 million per show, with tickets topping out in the $250 to $275 range.

There is still no word on whether original Izzy, drummer Steven Adler will appear, along with any other past or current members of the group. Reports have suggested that current drummer Frank Ferrer, guitarist Richard Fortus, multi-instrumentalist Chris Pitman and keyboardist Dizzy Reed and will round out the lineup.

#47 Guns N' Roses » GUNS N' ROSES' 'Welcome To The Jungle' Featured In TACO BELL's SUPER B » 489 weeks ago

he GUNS N' ROSES classic "Welcome To The Jungle" is featured in the Super Bowl commercial for Taco Bell's newest menu item: the Quesalupa.

Originally tested at 36 restaurants in Ohio last year, the $2.99 taco, which goes on sale everywhere today, is made with a fried flour tortilla shell stuffed with melted pepper jack cheese. In the 30-second commercial, titled "Bigger Than…", a cast of characters compare the Quesalupa to big trends — hoverboards, Tinder, drones, aliens and man buns. The closing punch line: "The Quesalupa. It’s going to be bigger than everything."

GUNS N' ROSES singer Axl Rose referenced Taco Bell in a January 1 tweet while responding to then-rampant GN'R reunion rumors. He wrote: "The only thing I know 'confirmed' is my LOVE of Taco Bell! Mmmmm…. Taco Bell!! Happy New Years!!" Later that same day, Taco Bell replied to Axl in a tweet from the company's official account: "You're not the only one."

As previously reported, the reunited GUNS N' ROSES — featuring Axl Rose alongside guitarist Slash and bassist Duff McKagan — will play on April 8 and April 9 at the new T-Mobile Arena in Las Vegas before headlining California's Coachella Music And Arts Festival on April 16 and April 23.

Well, aside Mustaine, there's David Ellefson, who came back in 2010.

Their current drummer is a guy named Adler. Seriously.

It's funny really... 16
