touring and releasing albums dont' have to have anything to do with each other. i go to a GnR show to enjoy seeing the band live, and that is 100% independent off whether or not there is an album.
All you nu era diehards say this bs. Seriously, how many more years will you keep buying into that ?
its chemistry. they put on the best shows i've ever seen.
That's your opinion, and you are most certainly entitled to it. I enjoy their shows, but I would prefer the real deal.
i wish they would release it, someday it will get released, but yes its cool that they make music together because they are great musicans and they've made great music so far.
I wish that they would release it someday too.
i dont give a fuck who created the songs. that has nothing to do with how they sound live and seeing the band live.
Again, that's your opinion and you are most certainly entitled to it. Me personally, I prefer the real thing over coverbands.
i dont give a fuck what their reasoning was for signing their rights away, they still did it. then they walked out. their own fault, i dont care..
I know you don't care about the reasoning. That would mean you would have to admit Axl's fault.
its pretty stupid to come to a board everyday for a band you dont' like and to troll for something thats been gone for so many years and has almost zero chance of happening in the forseeable future. maybe you should start your own 'gnr reunion fantasy' board where you can live in your alternate reality. some people have too much free time on their hands.
Stay out of the VR & Reunion section at htgth. Quit opening account after account at mygnr, and then come back and talk to me about having too much time on my hands.

any tour is for money. thats how bands make money and earn a living.
the difference is, a reunion would be a bunch of guys who don't like each other, sucking it up and touring for the money. with GnR, these guys have amazing chemistry, Axl gets along with them, they are making music together (whether or not its released, they've been making music together), and there is no need to break that up to let guys back in the band who either fucked up and don't deserve to be in the band, or choose to sign their rights away and abandon the band.
1.) The current lineup is a revolving door of guys who go on tour and cover another band's material for the money. They most certainly can't be touring because of all the music they are releasing.
2.) Is it chemistry these new guys have or a contract ?
3.) So, you think it's cool that these guys make music together but don't release it ? Uh ?
4.) There's no reason to break up a revolving door of musicians who go on tour to play 90% cover songs, vice hearing the band that actually created those songs ?
5.) Last time I heard, they signed their rights away in order to keep the band togther. Not sure what you heard.

Also, as has been previously said, if they get together just to tour, it's clearly for the money, and I don't respect that. And before you say that's what Axl is doing now, we know he is creating music by the leaks, so don't go there.
I respect your opinion, bigbri.
But, this logic makes absolutely no sense.
The leaks prove that Axl has went into a studio and did some recording in the past 15 years. It proves absolutely NOTHING else.
The only thing that we do know for certain is that Axl and his band have done 3 separate tours in the past 6 years, and still no album release. So, as of right now, all we know is that they are definitely touring, and it's most certainly for the money. Now, do you respect that ?

Once Axl intends to not release albums I'd like a re-union.
So, basically a reunion sounded good for the past 15 years then ?

lol you're such a troll dude. you always give the neg rep first. anyone who doubts that, look at his log and notice the times. in fact you are the only member here who is constantly giving people bad reps, the ones you get are just people responding to it.
banned from here today AND mygnr. Why do you think that is?
How many times haves you been banned from mygnr ? Jim Bob, Beaver Bob, Dr Bob.
And those are just off the top of my head. You want to keep talking, trollboy ?

Attacking is using words like, "I don't get you people", your answer of wanting one is noted and respected however it's all in the way you type it and the words you use that you know are going to put people on the defensive. Also, when I say defend, I mean the constant bringing up of the old band.
This is a reunion thread. You permitted it to be in this section. I think it makes sense that I would bring up the old band in this thread. I mentioned Slash in the Fortus thread because someone took a shot at him.
Take a look at my reputation level. Look at how many people are giving me negative rep because they disagree with me. I have some that say "fuck off" and "you're a dick". Is that ok for others to do that shit ?

bringbackadler wrote:I don't get you people who say you have no interest in seeing a reunion.
I'm sorry, but to me that means that you are an Axl Rose fan ... not a GN'R fan. This project of Axl's has had no solid lineup and no album releases. How in the hell can you say that you prefer that to the real deal ? Don't you people like bands who are able to maintain the same band members and release music ?I agree with what James said yesterday about respecting other's opinions, and it makes the forum a more interesting place, but I honestly don't understand how anyone can say that they prefer this nu era when they really haven't done much of anything. I'm definitely interested in hearing Axl's album, but at the same time, I'm pro reunion all the way.
For all of you guys that said that you'd rather see Axl and his guys on payroll, ask yourself this question ...
Do you normally prefer coverbands to the real thing ?

That Axl Rose sentence cracks me up. I am an Axl Rose fan and I am a GNR fan. See thing is BBA you can say that this current band hasn't done anything but the old band is NO MORE. And your sentence about bands maintaining the same band members...uhhh again, the old GNR is no more.
So to keep going on about the old like this and attacking people, like myself who enjoy what we have of the new band is really a dead arguement because the old band isn't together and there is no hint insight of them getting back together. So people who are GNR fans, who are Axl Rose fans, who are fans of both incarnates and even fans like you who only like the memory of the old band, are all within rights of what they choose and but to constantly question it is getting tiresome and I see from you all the time. People like what the like and don't need to constantly defend themselves to you.
Who's attacking you ?
I gave my opinion, and you gave yours. I respect your opinion. Hell, I even respect JB's. I just don't understand it or agree with it.
You said that you enjoy what we have ??? I'm not being smart, but what exactly is it that we have ? Do you enjoy no albums being released ? The cancelled tours ? The never ending rotating lineups ? The months and years of silence ? A new guitar player every tour ? A band that plays a setlist that is 90% cover songs ?
Why do you feel as though you need to "defend yourself" to me ? Because I said that I don't understand the logic ? It seems like you're personally attacking me just for disagreeing with what you say. Like James said yesterday, differences of opinion are what make this forum interesting. I realize that there is "no hint" of the original lineup getting back together. But, there's "no hint" of this album getting released anytime soon, if ever, for that matter.
I'll say it again just to make it clear,... I look forward to hearing Axl's album. He's my fav frontman of all time. But that doesn't mean that I am going to be naive enough to believe everything that he says or worship everything that he does. I hope that you don't feel like you need to defend yourself against this post. I thought this thread was asking someone's opinion on how they would feel about a reunion. Was the correct answer supposed to be that I don't want one ?

Has anybody seen a promo copy available on ebay lately. If so, let me know. I'd like to get it.
'You Can't Put Your Arms Around A Memory' is my favorite TSI song.

I always laugh at nuGNR fans who call Slash a sell-out...
To be fair, I don't think it's fair to call anyone a sell-out. They're all in the business to make money/art and they can do that with whomever they please. I just think it's funny when the same people who consider Slash a sell-out who wants his hands in every pie are calling Fortus a hero. That's like a person who uses a black pot deciding not to use a black kettle because it's black.
+ 1 Completely agree, Backslash.
Slash is supposedly a sellout, yet we should worship guys like Finck and Fortus who make their living off playing riffs that he created. What kind of backwards logic is that ?
