yeah i'm really starting to think sorry is about slash too. i was skeptical at first, but i definitely think it is possible. that "just shut up and sing" line is great.
regardless though, that song is awesome. the more i listen to it the more i love it. that seems to be a trend for me with regard to this record. there are quite a few songs on here that i kinda liked to begin with, but now love. sorry is one of them.

like i said in an earlier post, the new catcher is growing on me. i'm still not sold on the intro, but i am really digging the solo at the end. one of my criticisms of the original demo was that it seemed to just fizzle out. i never really felt like there was much of a conclusion. with the solo, i'm finally getting that. i think it adds a sense of drama at the end that was really needed.

scraped sounds fantastic. i can finally hear the guitars in the verses and they sound MEAN.

speaking of scraped.. apparently a clean(ish) one has surfaced... no aim.. no fuzz
have you actually heard it, or is that just a rumor that's going around? i can't wait to finally hear a clean version of that song with no interference!
#48 Re: Guns N' Roses » Which is single worthy? » 883 weeks ago
miss out the intro and , maybe.. the intro is hideous and doesnt do the song any favours
there is no need for it, it adds nothing, its embarrasing as watchin axl at the vmas doin that wttj whine
is it bad that i love the intro? i feel kinda guilty about it.
don't get me wrong, i think it is funny and i wouldn't cry if it were taken off of the track. but i have no problem with it staying on. to me it is an "axl moment" that if it were anybody else i would hate it. for some reason, axl can get away with it...in my view at least.

my vote is for sorry. i could see it as a 4th single. i think it would fit in with some of the stuff on mainstream rock radio right now. it doubt it would be a huge hit, but it would likely get some decent airplay. i love scraped and this i love, but i really can't see either of them as singles. MAYBE this i love, but i really doubt it. the only way i see that song getting released as a single is if the record is selling like crazy and they can afford to take a chance. scraped is just a good rockin album track in my opinion (its actually my favorite of the three as well).

Here is the single review from Billboard since I don't think anyone saw my prior post.......
http://www.billboard.com/bbcom/content_ … 393b87fba8Against all odds, Axl Rose is at last releasing "Chinese Democracy," the first album of new Guns N' Roses material since 1991 (it will be an exclusive at Best Buy). The opening track is a hard-rocking cyberpunk drama, complete with an action-movie intro, neurotic multitrack vocals and plenty of spaced-out guitar solos (Buckethead?) designed to make up for Slash's absence. Over an industrial riff with shades of the Scorpions' "Rock You Like a Hurricane," Axl wails about "Real time visionaries sitting in a Chinese stew"—and he must be the first rock star to name-check "Falun Gong" and "masturbation" in the same song. This is not a typical radio hit, as it's not built around an obvious melody or hook like so many Guns N' Roses classics. But that hasn't hindered massive early airplay at several rock formats, and fans are clearly responding favorably to their first (authorized) taste of new GNR music in nearly a decade. —Sven Philipp
yeah thanks for the post! i think that's a pretty solid description of the song. enthusiasm for the song didn't drop off in its second week. it actually increased, which is better than a lot of folks thought it would do. good news all around.
