Not to be a wise ass but....don't they still have to properly release CD I?
#4892 Re: Guns N' Roses » Axl Rose To Talk "Guns N Roses" on Jmmy Kimmel Live(Not Happening) » 506 weeks ago
ID's beliefs have changed many many times over the past few months. And he dismissed the reunion for a long time. But now he is on board. I think he is a lil sad it was Slash over Finck
My feelings have changed multiple times as well. I really gave up hope on this...
I had many times pitched the idea Axl leaving the band and contracting out all of the GnR positions...although almost no one ever saw the humor in that.
Let me pose a question....the only thing I feel is comparable to this scenario is the Van Halen reunion a few years back. I remember thinking - that seems to be a pure cash grab tour. Any thoughts on the parallels and non-parallels here?
#4893 Re: The Garden » Roddy Piper passes away » 508 weeks ago
I didn't see this thread when it happened.
I just wanted to say that I really enjoyed Piper's podcast. I spend a lot of time in the car so I had his podcasts set up to listen to all the time. He could tell stories (although he repeated some too often, I liked hearing them every time).
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=eGUJzFZR_Q0
This little clip is my tribute to him. It's a lost are these days. Here Piper makes it personal and creates an entertainment value that is of a high caliber. This is what they call in the wrestling world, a shoot. A blending of a 'fake' story line and real live feeling and events.

James Lofton wrote:TheMole wrote:Which is exactly why 'closing the borders for muslims' is the worst thing we can do right now.
I think the worst thing is allowing oceans of them to walk, swim, and fly into these EU countries. Have you watched any of the videos? The Autobahn looks like a slum, thousands invading once quiet towns demanding free checks, houses, playstations, list goes on. Muslim men freaking out on trains standing next to normal, everyday citizens. Girls have been attacked for wearing bikinis(it upsets Muslims) and they've even attacked grandmas for god knows what(maybe for not wearing a burqa). For some reason people act surprised that others are getting sick of this shit. I saw that video of the guy on the train yelling at those people for no reason and had I been there , I would have kicked the living shit out of him, just for the sake of the women standing there being forced to endure that psychosis.
Citizens anywhere are not supposed to adapt to a stream of refugees coming into their country. Its supposed to be the other way around. Instead of adapting to the culture they are in, they vent their rage and in the case of that girl, get attacked by a gang for the unforgivable sin of wearing a bikini while sunbathing. You want these people here? Make sure your daughters/nieces/sisters are covering their legs and send a memo to your grandma to wear a burqa .
IMO here in the US all the people supporting this flow of refugees need to sign up for a program where they will host one family(or if not a family, several people) in their own homes. Once the situation becomes real, the support for it will evaporate. The average supporter clicking 'Like' on Facebook might stop clicking it when five refugees are sitting in their house.
There are small outbreaks of violence/resistance to this right now. Just wait. We aint seen nothing yet. The imminent major backlash to this will only require one major incident to get things started. Its why for the sake of all sides this needs a quick solution because civil unrest across the West is just right around the corner.
There are thousands of homeless citizens in each of these countries. They aren't being helped. Refugees pouring in by the thousands(in total over a million) are getting free housing, unemployment checks, phones, the whole nine yards. Some have even been bitching because their homes don't have playstations. In what alternate universe does this make sense?
Its a tragedy that these refugees have seen suffering that most people cant even comprehend but that doesn't mean we have to ruin our own countries in an attempt to save them.
Have you noticed all the Americans in this thread feel like you, me, and Buzz and Pollux lived in Europe and he is warning us from what he is seeing, yet, the people saying we should let them in don't live here. And they think Obama is a great president.
It is scary out there. This is nothing like the refugees or immigrants from Mexico, Central America, and South America.
Elaborate....I don't think I understand. Are you saying the Mexican and Latin American immigrants are different than those European immigrants?

In my limited experience: a recount of the people of Laos coming to northern Wisconsin after the Vietnam War. I'm not exactly sure of the definition of refugee, but I'm confident in saying that the Hmong (pronounced Mung) people from Laos fit the criteria.
The Hmong people arrived in Wisconsin toward the end of and after The Vietnam war in the mid to late 70s. The primarily white, German and Norweigen residents of Wisconsin have varying opinions about the positive and negative impact of their arrival and subsequent stay to this day.
I would agree with the observation someone else made in this thread that they mostly stick to themselves (immigrants, that is) but have been a hard working and contributing people to the state. Many of them were farmers which seems to fit right in with the state's lineage and culture.
Here's how it kind of looks to me:
1st generation in America: Largely stick to the culture they came from. Keep to themselves.
2nd generation: probably the first true generation to "assimilate." By that I mean, they are born and raised here. They likely go through the public school system and are immersed in the American culture while still feeling the strong pull of influence by their parents to homelands traditions and culture.
3rd generation: By now, the American culture has likely and completely infiltrated and you see for the first time a unique American subculture. The extremely unique combination of cultures melding into something new and uniquely American.
You can fight it all you want but the US has constantly been influenced by other cultures contributing and assimilating into what was here already.

Some of these examples are completely absurd.....did I see someone saying that people making a living off the government eat lobster? Psssshhh....I lived in neighborhood with a bunch of single-parent households. EVERYONE in my neighborhood worked....and NOBODY was eating lobster or steak.
I think these types of stereotypes are dangerous. Sometimes it seems like you're just being angry and need someone to point your finger at....
I also worked in a grocery store from about 16-22. I absolutely hated that job. I didn't get a raise once. The work was shit, the pay was shit, and I was supposed to be ever so grateful to the owner (this wasn't a giant chain) for the opportunity to wash his dishes, slice meats, check people, and otherwise look at the look at the clock and wait for it all to be over. Only, I had to go back there the next day.
This was my typical schedule as a college student.
Wake up at 8 or 9 AM....go to class (ok I missed a few, but I still made it through).
At school from about 9 AM to 2 PM.
I'd go to work from about 3 PM to 9 PM at the damn deli at the grocery store.
Then, drive directly to the library to start my studies. I'd typically be there from about 9:30 to 1 or 2 AM. THEN....I did it all over again in graduate school, although that was only a 2 year program.
You know what though? I'm not even proud of it. I'm disgusted. I completely and utterly disgusted that that's what it took to get ahead in this country. It's complete fucking bullshit. All the while, racking up debt because what I was paid almost never allowed my bank account to get into the 3 digits (yes...I mean the days that I had $100 in my account was a good god damn day). The money came in as quickly as it went out.
It was a lot of Old English High Gravities and frozen pizzas. A few Colt 45s made it in there too. Driving around cars that were unsafe, and neglecting my health and my sleep sometimes. I am so glad I did it then, because I couldn't do it now.
In fact, I am experiencing some significant health problems now as a result of that time in my life. It took me 5 years to complete a 4 year degree. Now, I have almost uncontrollable anxiety. My back kills me on a daily basis. I'll be 34 in 3 weeks and I feel like a 60 year old man. I can't relate to most of my 30-something members of my generation. I have a beautiful girl, and we both are raising her daughter....she had an inside track. She is smart, and beautiful...and had both parents to pave the path for her. I envy her everyday....because she doesn't have to be an old broken down piece of meat in her mid 30s.
Finally, my success with my company has completely alienated me from my family. What used to come so natural and easy is now awkward and forced. The typical signs of jealousy are the undertone of most of my family and friend interactions these days. I've had to learn to deal with the shame that they made me feel for leaving that whole life behind.
Anyway....I'm sure it seems like bragging or that I'm being unappreciative when I share my genuine thoughts on my journey to success. But the honest to god truth is that sometimes I really do wonder if it was worth it. I go back and forth every week. Ah hell...I probably spend too much time thinking about it. It effects me in a very real way though....and I am supposedly the winner of this game called America.

The democrats have created a whole society that relies on hand outs and that locks up votes for generations. Generations of people that want free stuff. Free food, free housing, free college, free cell phones, free health care. Who pays for all that free shit? Only 47% of the USA pays taxes. Let that sink in. ONLY 47%. Now, the other 53% do pay sales tax and also property tax if they own anything. But no income tax. I am in that 47% and sick of paying more and more.
And yes, I know health care can go up, but not at these rates of increase. Pre Obama care I pay the same rate for 4 years straight. Post Obama shit is going up big time EACH YEAR. I soon wont be able to afford this kind of health insurance and will have to get a policy that has a $7,000 deductible. So unless I get hit by a train the shit is worthless.
I find your posts in this thread to be passionate and they contribute to the conversation. However, this description of democrats is absurd. I am a democrat and I own a small business that has employed as many as 40 people at a given time. I also grew up on food stamps and free hot lunch. I've think I've more than paid my debt to the public.

Here's the thing guys....slightly over half the federal budget goes to the Military. If we continue to spend that much money on our military, we just don't get to have much left over for what Republicans like to call, "entitlements" or anything else. Ironically, I find Republicans to be the most entitled of all in general....but I digress.
The problem with the Republican field is I cannot stand how ass backwards they are on all of the social issues. None of these people would I enjoy spending time with and I tend to avoid the ultra-religious on a daily basis. Scott Walker was the absolute worst. Donald Trump, Marco Rubio, Ben Carson, etc....they are all complete turds. At least, they way that they are portrayed publically.
I just don't see one thing that Republicans believe in that would help me financially, or align with my morals. I've seen the results of Republican economic policies by Governors in places like Wisconsin and Kansas where they have control of all branches of government. The results are disastrous. I believe I read somewhere that Kansas had to close their public schools early last summer due to budget issues. I would need to confirm that, but I am confident it's true.
I remember reading in college that when the French revolution occurred, one of the biggest reasons for it was that 97% of the wealth was controlled by 1% of the population. The wealth distribution is something like 80% of the wealth goes to the top to 1-2 percent of the population.
Let's take Trump for example...didn't he inherit most of his wealth? What has he done to contribute to anything? He's declared bankruptcy multiple times most likely as a way to avoid taxes. I want to know what about that decision qualifies him to lead anything.

Bernie Sanders is a nice man, but his socialist line of thinking would destroy our economy. I like him as a guy, but all this free free free shit means I have to pay pay pay...
Look at my health bill per month before Obama Care and after FOR THE SAME POLICY.
PRE Obama Care: $181 per month including dental
YEAR 1 Obama Care $265 per month plus $21 per month for dental
Year 2 Obama Care $295 per month plus $21 for dental
Next year $395 per month plus $21 for dental.I take no drugs and haven't been sick in 5 years. I am young, no married, no kids, and healthy. HOW IS THIS SUSTAINABLE. ALMOST $400 per month. Wtf?!?!
How do you know what your cost increases would have been before Obamacare...you do realize that these increases occur every year the older you get as a function of your age and cost of living adjustments. Does it account for all of your increases? I doubt it.
I'm right there with you though...currently I support a family of 3, the child in the family is not biologically mine (I love her just the same though). Everybody's healthcare jumped this coming year.

Neemo wrote:Thanks for the insight Splat. .. would be cool to see something materialize out of all these rumors
On the flip side ...I wonder how the fan base would react if the 2002 lineup showed up at the festival
just to throw a complete fucking monkey wrench in the reunion mix
As long as CD II was rolled out before the tour I would be perfectly fine with an 02 reunion but I feel the ship sailed on that era. Its been 13 years. You can sandwich TWO AFD-TSI eras into that time frame.
In addition to that, you'd have to be a real GnR need to even know what the 02 line up was....
I wouldn't pay big money as a promoter for that.
