If M.I.A. wasn't getting sick of touring, I would say you would most likely get to see her there. Not as a headliner of course, but somewhere on the bill.
If my shows weren't so soon, I would actually start worrying about cancellations. She recently said how she was getting tired of touring, and thats not words of encouragement to fans. There's still many places she hasn't performed yet(Africa included).
Hopefully you'll get some major act like U2 or Metallica to headline the event. You deserve it after the clusterfuck this year.
If CD ever gets launched, GNR should definitely head over there.
MIA hasn't been promoted or marketed here at all....sticking her on the bill for a rock festival would be wrong....its not her market....no one here knows who she is....
Metallica headlined two years ago, U2 can pack a stadium on their own, so i doubt either of the two....
my guess would be that they would try for the Chilli Peppers, Radiohead, Coldplay, or something similar....again, each and every one of those can pack a venue by themselves, so why should they play at a festival, but one never knows....
let's see....gnr won't...its better that they don't....they left a sour taste in our mouths last time.....so its better that they stay away for a while....

another thing, "someone" is leaking the others in 8 second increments all over the forums.....does this ring a bell of bizzare familiarity anyone...?
#483 Re: Guns N' Roses » Stuck Inside » 921 weeks ago
can you give me an example of a modern rock act that has taken rock to a "new" level?
The White Stripes..
anyway, back on topic....i think the song is nothing special, some good guitar work....but its great to hear Axl at full throttle....he does feel out of place....

I have no clue in which section to post this, because its kind of GNR related, because of their cancellation this year, and organisers are beginning to announce new acts for next year at the moment:
here is the current press release, they are still to announce a headliner.....my guess is that it won't be GNR, the promoters and Coca Cola are little more than just pissed with gnr and their ways, costing them in the region of 1 million US this year....so they won't give them another chance.....VR and RHCP are a possibility, although RHCP could fill a stadium here on their own, so i doubt them too....lets wait and see...

Here's what I don't get. Is it really so hard for people to understand that there are alot (maybe not a ton, but alot) of people out there who are fans of Sebastian Bach? I
of course there are, otherwise he wouldn't be recording albums still....
i am more interested in Axl's strategic approach, and his frame of mind with regards to this....why would he guest on Bach's album, and not once on any BH recordings? Or Tommy, like mentioned above? Or on anything of Izzy's?
That's the weird bit for me....he brought Bach into the "fold" literally out of nowhere, and the guy's now a fucking inner circle confidante....unbelievable...i know they have history together and everything...but its just weird....

i like to know how i got cut out of the whole saga, but whatever thats cool
oh...if you're referring to my post above, i left your name out completely unintentionally.....no hard feelings man, i was merely referring to the most "vocal" of the bunch during the whole saga....sorry....
also, don't get me wrong, nobody is more pissed off with this than i am....skinning an SMF forum is no small task...a good few days' worth of work.....for someone who is self-employed, every hour of the day spent doing pro bono work is that hourly fee taken away....it impacts my bills at the end of the month, my everything....
so to see it go down the tubes just like that, over an admin (no pun intended) error is very much an amateur mistake....
i also made an attempt to get hold of Brody during the downtime....like everyone else...i did establish contact with him recently, and ROV as we used to know it will relaunch....that much i can tell you....
will it be good?
not sure.
will the original status quo with regards to staff, members, management be restored?
i have no clue....i didn't ask, frankly not my place....i merely wanted to know if the reason for it was negligence or something more serious.....one thing these gnr forums taught me was to never assume or believe roumors until someone clears or confirms them.....so i waited until he resurfaced again....
only suggestion i have for the management of this board is to try and get rid of anything which connects it to the old site..(other than the members of course)....by that i mean name, domain, section and category names...and colour scheme.....only then will you be out in the open and clear of any bullshit which this saga is now attracting....
and of course, needless to say, if i am needed for anything, don't be scared to shout out....:mosh:

i like to know how i got cut out of the whole saga, but whatever thats cool
...even the logos Elmir....who made them? and the sound bytes for the intro....i mean cmon, even when dealing with brody to launch the skin you had to turn to DTJ and myself cuz brody again was M.I.A. (and not the singer James always talks about)
i know.
i was there....
#489 Re: Guns N' Roses » Bach talks about Axl on Angel Down » 921 weeks ago
i side with James on this one.....have no intention on buying this album, supporting it, or even remotely getting excited about it....unless its really a good record, and is worth having....but time will tell....from what i've heard so far.....i didn't like it....of course, i'll pay attention to those Axl songs, keen to hear what he sounds like....
what's interesting about this is that Axl mentioned numerous times how one of the reasons he kept quiet all these years is that he didn't want to indirectly help the "other" guys with their solo careers, by talking about them, thus generating public interest in their own projects....we've seen it with many current and ex members....and pretty much anyone associated with Axl.....he made a lot of people decently rich....
anyway, this is exactly what he is doing....he is going to ensure that Baz receives more attention than this album probably deserves, and then when no one gets excited about it.....he'll get all upset with the "fans" and the world....
#490 Re: Management » Ok, I'm a little confused guys... » 921 weeks ago
guys....let me clear whatever i can with regards to a few things....i see my name being mentioned at a few places.....I helped ROV out with a theme some time back....this is common knowledge....it was a colab effort between myself, Brody, and the admin staff of the forum....i worked, they commented, i made changes, and so on....so the word "colab" couldn't be more apt to describe the situation.....
with regards to ownership of anything.....i don't own shit....it was a bit of design work which was done for the community as a whole, the minute it went public, it was no longer mine.....i got a nice credit for it....and that's all i ever wanted from it....
does Brody own the actual files?
yes, one could debate that point till the cows come home, as he was the registered owner of the original domain, so one would presume that everything which belonged and resided on that server fell under his jurisdiction...
then again, considering it was a group effort - some staff support for funding (james and dtj), member support for design and coding (myself and dreamline)...the fact who owns what is soooo much in that undesireable "grey" area that it can be talked about forever, but one will never reach a conclusion which is satisfactory....
so, to answer...downliner....you did a great job with this portal, there are certain elements which you tried to keep as close as possible, but this is an original design of its own, based on the previous interface, not a direct copy of it.....so you have nothing to worry about when it comes to copyright....
at the same time, i would really like to have old ROV back, there was lots of good info on there, so if we could have Axl, Slash and Duff...I mean Brody, DTJ and James.....to kiss and make up for the sake of the community.....it would be great....
if not....fuck it...we motor on as is....
