What exactly did he warn him? You might die if you play the Joker? Knobhead.

If you read the wikipedia page about Dark Knight Nicholson made some very bitter comments when he wasn't asked either to play or advise on who to cast as Joker. I hope Ledger absolutley dicks on Nicholsons performance now, might shut the arrogant prick up a bit.

The ironic thing about it was both Chris Nolan and Heath Ledger have a better understanding of the character than Jack Nicholson. Nicholson has never read the comics, etc. and didn't bother researching for the role. Ledger most certainly researched the hell out of it, and obviously Nolan did as well. Burton and Nicholson were clueless regarding the source material to begin with, so why does Jack think he's some kind of expert on the character? Talk about having an ego.

I officially fucking hate Jack Nicholson. He can go to hell for all I care.

DTJ, accidental overdose of drugs is different from intentional suicide. The news media were reporting it as a suicide early on and they should be ashamed of themselves for that in my opinion.

This is complete shock and a big bummer.

I wonder how Michelle Williams is taking the news.

She was devastated by it. It was reported that she was given a sedative and flew from L.A. to New York when she found out about it.

Found the answer to your question. Ledger is finished with his post-production work. No over-dubs will be needed. It appears he finished his work in order to start with the Terry Gilliam film that he was filming at the time of his death.

Yeah, you should check out Gangs of New York at some point. It's from 2002 so you can rent it from the video store or download it if you wish. Here's Mr. Day-Lewis in the role:

He was snubbed at the Oscars that year. A lot of people consider it one of the best performances ever. And his performance in There Will Be Blood is also getting huge praise as well.

Here's an interview with him where you can see how different he is from the characters he portrays:

Actually James, I just thought of two performances that are incredible (both by the same guy). Bill the Butcher and Daniel Plainview. I have seen the first one, but have not been able to see There Will Be Blood yet because it has not reached my town yet. Word is that Daniel Day-Lewis' performance is off the charts, just like it was in Gangs of New York. Now, his role in TWBB is a leading role, so maybe it's best to say Bardem's performance is the best by a supporting actor in this decade.

As a supporting role, it will STEAL the show like Javier Bardem did with No Country For Old Men.

Off topic of course, but that's the best performance to come out of Hollywood this decade.

Trying to think of something that tops it and I don't think I can. So I agree. But I say wait for Ledger. Bardem completely disappeared into the role versus how he acts in real life. I think Ledger has done something similar. You can't tell it's him, which is a great thing compared to Nicholson.

The body count in the prologue is pretty high and it's only 5 minutes long. And the disturbing part is he uses his own hired goons to take EACH OTHER out by promising each of them a larger piece of the pie. I have no doubt that although the blood and language won't be offensive, the Joker's actual deeds will be just as evil as Bardem's in No Country.

Ledger said he was done with it in an interview, though "it" could only mean filming, I'm not sure. The interviewer did not specifically ask him. He brought it up on his own. Anyway, I figure they've got enough of it to finish the movie. The real challenge will be working on putting the footage and dialogue together from an emotional standpoint. I don't think I could work on something like that. I'd out-source it to another production company to finish it.
