This pretty much ends my support of VR. There's no way I can bother thinking about buying tickets to shows & making plans when Weiland is continuously dragging this band down. Isn't this the 2nd time they've recently cancelled on Australia? Slash is so huge right now, he really needs to find another creative partner to make music with to capitalize on his fame. Time for Slash to wash his hands of Weiland.

Couldn't agree more.

And yes, they originally postponed from the dates they were supposed to come in December.

Get to work on that solo album Slash! 21

Sorry for doubling up threads, but there wasn't one here when I typed up mine.

I'm pretty pissed off right now. The band should tour here anyway without him.
I'd be happy with Duff on vocals and them playing a bunch of covers. I was so looking forward to seeing Slash again...

CANCELLATION:

Velvet Revolver regret to announce they're unable to perform their upcoming concert dates in Australia that were scheduled for:

Brisbane Convention Centre Fri 15 Feb 2008 (previously Tue 4 Dec 2007)
Sydney Enmore Theatre Sat 16 Feb 2008 (previously Wed 5 Dec 2007)
Sydney Enmore Theatre Sun 17 Feb 2008 (previously Thu 6 Dec 2007)

The cancellation of these shows will allow lead singer Scott Weiland to continue treatment at a rehab facility which he voluntarily entered after the band's February 6 performance in Los Angeles.

Velvet Revolver deeply apologise to their fans in Australia and thank them for sticking by the group when various members have relapsed during the last year and a half.

Tickets purchased on the internet or over the phone will be automatically refunded back to the credit card used for the booking.

Customers who purchased tickets at an outlet should return to the point of purchase for a refund.

This is fucked. 17

Oh, and I'd recommend getting Music Bank, it's a very cool collection.

#4055 Re: Dust N' Bones & Cyborg Slunks » VELVET REVOLVER's Australian Tour Going Ahead? » 925 weeks ago

I hope these shows happen cause I just wanna see Slash, Duff, Matt and even Dave rip it up again, it's a shame that seeing them lies on Scott Weiland keeping his shit together...

#4056 Re: The Sunset Strip » Alice in Chains » 925 weeks ago

I love Alice in Chains. Haven't listened to them in a while, but they were up there with GN'R and Metallica as my all time favourite bands.

Jerry wrote most of the songs in AIC anyway, and his last solo album Degradation Trip had stuff on there easily on par with the best AIC stuff in my opinion. So I have no doubt they'll come up with the goods again. But without Layne in there, it definitely won't be the same.

There is a rumour going around L.A. that there's pre-production for new STP-material going on at Eric Kretz' Bombshelter Studios in Los Angeles. There's no word if the DeLeo brothers are involved, but according to the reports, Eric is laying down basis drum tracks for material that will be worked on once Scott wraps up the current Velvet Revolver tour on April 1st in Amsterdam.

Just a rumor of course, but if that's the case... holy shit.

Holy shit indeed. Hope it's true, I reckon Scott's place is in STP rather than VR.

I find myself less and less interested in this album ever coming out.

I was really looking forward to it after the awesome shows in Australia that I saw last year, but I'm feeling a bit 'meh' about it all these days.

#4060 Re: The Sunset Strip » Slash: Weiland Playing With STP This Summer » 927 weeks ago

I really hope Scott goes back to STP and stays there, because to me that's where he's much more suited, plus that means I'll get to hopefully see STP live, which is something I missed.

Of course, all this can happen AFTER they play their rescheduled VR dates in Sydney next month!
