This guy is in the same book with Mick Wall as far as I'm concerned. He's always been up Metallica's ass and anti-GNR, you only have to watch Metallicas Behind The Music to know that.

Also, he doesn't have the complete album.

I don't know about that, up until recently he's always said how much he hates Metallica, but apparently him and Lars are friends again. And I don't know about him being anti-GN'R either, he's said good stuff about Slash, and VR. Maybe it's just Axl he doesn't like.

Thanks for typing that up, it was a great read, and I'll be buying Slash's book soon myself too.

I'm glad Tommy is there playing drums, but I still think they should get John Corabi back in on vocals again. Vince just can't sing anymore...

Toe'n The Line is my favourite Zakk solo song. I'd love him to record some more stuff like that again.

I'll believe it when I hear it. They said the same thing about St. Anger.

Um no, actually they didn't.

The only people who talked up Metallica returning to the sound of the 80's on St Anger were the ones hopeful of it actually happening.

As a pretty big fan myself, I can assure you the band never said they were going back to their old style. I read that they claimed St Anger to be an ugly, in-yer-face, punk metal album with some of the speed of their earlier material, which was their own response to the polished-production of their previous 3 studio albums. Which it pretty much was.

So the fact that they are actually saying their new stuff does reflect their 80's albums this time, maybe it will. 9

Yeah, I do see the irony there, as we get treated pretty much the same way being GN'R fans.

It's just fucked that the guys in VR who seem completely against all that shit (Slash, Duff, Matt, Dave) have to subject their fans to it because of their singer again.

#4048 Re: Dust N' Bones & Cyborg Slunks » Are/Were you a Scott Weiland/STP Fan? » 924 weeks ago

I admit I didn't own any STP albums until Scott joined VR, but since then I went back and bought all the albums and I'd say I'm a big fan of Scott for his work in STP rather than VR. Their last album is my favourite. The band really found their groove and there's a great mix of trippy rockers and ballads.

But after the recent VR Aussie tour cancellation my patience for Scott Weiland is wearing thin.
It's hard to support a guy who doesn't seem to care too much about himself or his fans.

#4049 Re: Dust N' Bones & Cyborg Slunks » How often do you listen to Guns? » 924 weeks ago

I go through phases of my music listening, and I'll listen to a band for a week before getting sick of them and start listening to something else.

That said, I probably listen to Appetite the most in my general music listening, but sometimes the Illusions or TSI will get a fair bit of playing as well. I probably listen to Lies the least.

I suppose if there's any good news to cheer me up a little from the "Scott-just-fucked-over-the-Aussie-VR-fans", then STP getting back together might be it.
