Do you guys prefer Layne without AIC (Mad Season) or Jerry's solo stuff (Boggy Depot, Degradation Trip)?
I'm a guitar nut, so I prefer Jerry's stuff purely for the great guitar playing, but Mad Season is pretty damn good too.
Boggy Depot is a bit hit and miss, and a bit more poppier than AIC, but Degradation Trip is music to kill yourself to (in a good way, if that makes sense! hehe).
Apparently Jerry went through some really fucked up times during the making of that album, and you can really hear it on some tracks, with how sombre the tone is.
I think some of the better songs on there easily stand on par with the best AIC stuff too.

John Corabi would be my pick. They could go in a more heavier rock direction with him too, rather than the pop/alternative styles that were starting to come up on Libertad.
I think their potential could be awesome. Plus John plays guitar as well.
It's funny though, with all that has happened, no-one is really saying, "I hope they patch it up and continue on", everyone is more like 'who should the next singer be??" I guess that shows how much the fans don't really like Scott in VR.
If VR continue, I just want Slash, Duff & Matt to get someone great without the problems that Axl, and then Scott had. But after they spent two or so years auditioning singers before Scott, who's to say they would be willing to go through all that again?

So much for them returning to Australia to make up those cancelled dates then huh...?
I hope Scott goes back to STP for good. He's the one that's dragging the rest of VR down with his antics.

That's great to hear man, I'm seeing Ozzy in two days in Sydney and I'm really looking forward to it.
What was the set like? Did they play much stuff from Black Rain?
I haven't got that album, but have every album before that, so I'm hoping for alot of older stuff.

Well, they won't be on the record - at least not in that state.
Exactly, they mentioned that bits of those songs might end up in other new songs they were working on.

Regardless of the punk poseur thing, I still think her songs are crap. Her lyrics are lame and just seem to be whatever she can come up with that rhymes together.
Sorry, I'm not changing my mind on that.
I have to agree with Avril though, her fans are weird just from the fact that they even like her music to begin with! hahahaha

I can visualize you in my head pumping your fist when she performed Fuel back in 2003 during the MTV Icon: Metallica show.
Damn, that made me giggle.
I though she absolutely sucked at that show. Her band sounded pretty good, but she sounded half asleep when she was singing. I think they interviewed her for the show too, and she seemed like she had no idea about Metallica.
Her shit songs make my ears bleed, I don't care how good-looking some people think she supposedly is, I still want to punch her!

I can't stand Avril, her and her shitty music just makes me want to punch her.

That's a pretty cool clip, but seeing all that live footage makes me even more pissed that their Aussie tour was cancelled.

Good for him. Maybe now they can reschedule those Aussie tour dates...
