#4011 Re: Dust N' Bones & Cyborg Slunks » Slash: Velvet Revolver Building Web Site To Audition Singers » 915 weeks ago

I think they should go with a well-known singer, or come up with some absolutely shit-hot new music if they choose an unknown.
Because let's face it, no-one will be interested in a sub-par album fronted by a nobody.

I don't know what that will be but I don't want to wait until may.

I guess it's a website to promote the new album.

The use of the old logo on there is a promising start! 9

Wow, Slash sounds really bitter about this. Especially when he's been apologetic about how he dissed Axl after leaving GN'R. Now he's dissing Scott.

It just sounds like they were really over ending up having to go through with Scott what they'd already been through with Axl.

#4014 Re: The Sunset Strip » Motley Crue Discussion » 916 weeks ago

I think I might need to give it a few more listens.

The Crue style I was hoping for was the one that pushed their musical boundaries over the 1994 album, and Generation Swine. This just sounds a little to, um... straight forward.

I dunno, after hearing the full version, it sounds pretty bland to me. Doesn't sound uninspired, but doesn't sound overly inspired either. Just sounds like they're retreading the style of their 80's, but without really making anything new of it.

Hopefully the rest of the album sounds better.

I agree with Scott, Shangri-La Dee Da is the best STP album released. It's a great mix of trippy rockers and laidback tunes. The band sound confident and content in their style and I think you can really hear it on that album, more than the others.

I'm glad Scott is back in STP, and hopefully they'll tour Australia as well.

I doubt Baz would be the singer. There's just too many things going against it for it to happen.

- he just released his new solo album with his own band and is gonna be touring in support of it
- he is too close with Axl to go front a band with his former bandmates
- Baz was dismissed the first time, so I doubt VR would pick him only after it didn't work out with Scott

It would have been interesting though. And Baz more than has the pipes for VR to play out more Guns songs live.

I just hope they get someone good. The last thing VR need is an uninteresting no-name.
I already thought they were kinda getting a bit dull on Libertad.

I think Linda Perry could actually work. And she's a proven hit writer too (that can be seen as a good or bad thing), look at all the hits she's written for Pink!

#4019 Re: Dust N' Bones & Cyborg Slunks » Other singers who auditioned for VR » 918 weeks ago

I don't think any of them (aside from the big names) seem interesting enough to work with.

Maybe an unknown talent is the answer, but with the struggles they had last time getting someone, I don't like their chances of going through that again.

I suppose the big difference is they actually have albums out as VR, whereas before people wouldn't have had any idea what they sounded like, aside from being ex-Guns members.

I didn't read what Matt posted as slandering Scott at all. He just said that being on the road takes it's toll in some people ie. Scott, but they were still forging on anyway.

Scott's response to Matt was completely childish, and only made him look like a a bigger tool than he already was.
