I'm with ya, Neemo! Fingers crossed.

I saw a TV commercial for it just last night. Around 8 o'clock (Prime Time). That ain't cheap!

I loved Contraband. I'm a fan of Weiland & STP, so between the ex-Gunners & Scott I was going to find something I liked. I never owne a copy of Libertad (I dunno why), and my wife brought one home for me today. I have no complaints about either album. They're both really good.

Is it time to call the game over for the album? I'm betting today racked up some numbers, the single will lure more buyers, and it could have a slow build/burn to platinum status. Stranger things have happened.

I would have said Scraped the other day, but now I love it. I'm not a drooling fanboy, I swear, but I wouldn't dump anything off the album.

#37 Re: Guns N' Roses » IF CD doesnt outdo Contraband » 864 weeks ago

Isn't 300,000 copies in four days considered successful? Hasn't even had a week yet, and I think the VR totals everyone's remembering are from a full week's sales. Tomorrow is Black Friday, after all. Lots of mall-hopping (Traditionally. Who knows these days?), and lots of Best-Buys in those malls. Tomorrow's sales could match or even out-do release day.

Maybe GnR are lying low for the Thanksgiving holidays...?

#39 Re: Guns N' Roses » Horrible timeing for CD release. Press already moving on? » 864 weeks ago

It really does seem like rock music...not emo, psuedo-punk, alternative...but rock music is hitting in a big way this year.

GNR's album has the dvantage of already achieving legendary status. But I wish radio in my area was behind it more. I have heard the title track once since 11/23, whereas I heard at least 2/3's of teh album all over the dial in the week leading up to the official release.
