"Charlie's probably one of the best examples of rock & roll that I know, because he does what he does, doesn't give a fuck what anybody has to say, and from an integrity point of view he's really great at what he does," he said. "And he's got this extracurricular lifestyle, which he makes no bones about. He does what he does and he doesn't take shit from anybody, and I love him for that."
But if it's Axl doing what he does and not giving a fuck it's bad?
There IS a little difference.
I think that Axl's saying what he has to say isn't the heart of the problem. If he he had been more productive, blamed less the entire world for his own faults, if he had less paranoia, maniac dictatorship and shit like that nobody would have too much problem with him.
I hate though that Charlie hijacked Slash's celebration and made it into a Slash/Sheen vs. Axl thing.
Are we talking about the same Charlie Sheen? The guy who thinks 9/11 was a conspiracy, that Chuck Lorre was out to get him, that vaccines were created by the government to poison us and AA wants to keep people from enjoying life....this guy isn't super paranoid? He also threw away the best job he had in years due his refusal to get help for addictions and didn't care if he cost an entire production team their jobs.
And of course the whole breakdown and almost slitting his wife's throat while their kids slept in the next room.
I don't see where being Rock N Roll can be used as an excuse for his insane behavior anymore than it can be for Axl. He's a 47 years old man with 5 kids. Being wasted in public and acting stupid aren't funny anymore.

The one time I was able to speak to Slash, I asked him about that first draft. He told me it was harsher on many people and he changed it because he didn't want his personal feelings about people to mess up his book (or something of that nature). He thought it would sound too bitter.
And I'm sure he knows he will always have to talk about Axl and GNR. Steven tried it for like two months and now he's back talking on it.

You are pretty much PAYING to have the star, as long as you have a background in entertainment.
So the people arguing the semantics over it, are wasting their breath. The Walk of Fame is a tourist attraction, and although it's can be "symbolic" for some, the bottom line anyone in the business could buy one. A board still has to approve it, but it's rare they deny anyone that has the $15,000 retainer (if I remember correctly).
I'm sure there's been tons of people denied. You've gotta be somebody to get one. yeah you may have to pay for it but they aren't gonna give it to any Tom, Dick and Harry who has a background in entertainment. Fred Savage could get one but the dude who played his friend Paul in Wonder Years isn't getting one. Slash could get one but the guitar player from Creed isn't getting one. You've gotta have some merrit to it. I walked the Walk of Fame and I recognized probably 98% of the names on it.
They are giving one to New Kids on the Block next year, no joke.

Yeah I would be very curious to read a book by Axl. It would be interesting to get a further insight into his warped mind.
Agree it would be self serving just like the other guy's books. But his perception of stuff I'm sure would be entertaining. It would probably help to piece together some of the stories and events that we only have one sides take on.
I actually wish that Slash hadn't written his book until now - after the HOF. I think it would have a slightly different tone about it. Yeah you could argue that Slash didn't paint Axl too good in his book, but shit I'm sure he held back a lot and could have really gone to town on him, but dind't for diplomatic reasons. I don't think he would be so diplomatic if he wrote it now. JMO.
I think he would, simply because Slash is smart to know that if he let's loose on Axl, Axl will let loose on him right back. I don't think it had anything to do with the hall. I'm sure Slash has quite a few skeletons in his closet that he doesn't want made public either

You don't need to be a rocket scientist to understand that Axl can't stand an ounce of criticism. He only wants slaves and his puppets around him. And on the world.
You don't need to be a rocket scientist either to understand that people on forums attack him over the stupidest things on a daily basis. It has more to do with being bored with their lives and needing to feel better by watching someone else fail.
I see it quite often on wrestling boards.

Sounds like forum wars have got pretty dirty in the past. This is the first time I have ever heard of the Lori Lepper saga. Anyone else hear of this before. The poor girl was eventually murdered:
If I remember correctly, she was a big GNR fan whom Duff hired to run his website. There was some kind of conflict between her and Eric/Madison. People said Eric copied her site html code and Madison told her off at NEWGNR. But she was like one of many, many people they upset over the years.
Anyhow, she was robbed and murdered in 2002 and they never found the killer. Police said it was someone she knew, as she let them into her house. Duff went on TV asking for people to come forward with information.

Wow. These people need to turn off the computer and go outside for a while.
So who "bought" the forum anyhow? They never said. Or did they? Way too long to read all that. My guess is no one.
#38 Re: Management » MyGNR closing for business » 739 weeks ago
Knowing Axl as long as we have, do you honestly think he'd respond to Eric's rant about him like "Oh I'm so sorry, Eric. You were right. Here's some money. Just please don't close that site and please keep being the mod. We'll be nice to you in the future. You sure told me."
I think if Axl had a choice between buying MYGNR and letting it shut down, he'd pick letting it shut down any day. Then he's done with those people forever. If he wants a board, he can start one on his offical site. Run it the way he wants to. He's not going to pay money for a site full of people that diss him daily, that's run by a guy that just told him off publicly.
#39 Re: Management » MyGNR closing for business » 739 weeks ago
I REALLY do not believe GNR gave Eric any money or ever will. If they do, well color me shocked. But I highly doubt they had any involvement in this.
What's the benefit for them in keeping the board alive after Eric just publicly told them off? What's the benefit in keeping him around? Or running things the same way they had been run?
I can't think of any celebrity that would pay money for a fansite's message board, let alone one where people have been attacking them for years. If Axl was willing to support a site with money, he'd have done this for HTGTH a long time ago. Or he'd have his own board on his own site. I really don't think he has as much interest in controlling a board as people think.

I wouldn't consider putting the no-promotion blame on Irv, if it wasn't for the fact that he did this with his other clients. It's odd.
Take a look at Christina Aguilera, one of his longtime clients. She delays her album Bionic almost 4 years (a lifetime in the pop world), spends a ton of cash on it, promises fans it will be huge and then what happens? It comes out to almost no promotion and both she and Irv basically threw it under the bus to move onto other things (like Burlesque, which they were so convinced would win her an Oscar).
