I thought Superhuman was more like Alice in Chains heavy riffing, which I quite liked. Even Slither is quite a heavy riff rocker. And there was still plenty of soloing on there too, well, enough to keep me happy anyway. Contraband was a good step in that it was still rocking while giving them a modern edge, which I what I think works best for VR so they stay kinda relevant.

Libertad while having some moments here and there was very pop-sounding, and much more like an STP album.

I still have to check out The Saints Of Los Angeles CD, I thought I read someone compare it a bit to the self-titled album musically, but with Vince singing. Any truth to that?

The self titled album with Corabi is hands down the best material they every recorded. It's a crying shame that it wasn't as successful as it should have been.

Exactly, and unfortunately we'll never get to hear any of those songs played live ever again either. They completely ignore that album in their setlist.
I'd even welcome some Generation Swine tracks played live, but they ignore that album too.

I thought Contraband was pretty aggresive hard rock, but they really steered away from that on Libertad. Glad to hear they wanna get back on track in that style again!

I'll buy it, but here's the catch: they have to actually release the fucking thing for me to be able to buy it.

inspiring lyrics as well aye D-machine,

any respect i held for metallica was lost as soon as i heard that.

I think you miss the point of that line in the song. Did you even listen to the rest of the lyrics???

The song is about domestic violence or being in an abusive relationship, where "love" is an offensive word like a certain other offensive four letter word (f**k).

Just listened to a few tracks up on youtube - End of the Line and Judas Kiss, and one thing is certain, there is no shortage of riffs in these songs, and they sound awesome!

I'm gonna hold out to listen to anymore until the album is officially released, but I am VERY fucking impressed so far.

Apparently the album has leaked. I'm gonna hold out until it's actually released.

Studio version of Cyanide is now streaming on the official site.
I think it sounds allot better than the live version.

I think the only good thing about them re-recording the hits is to fatten up the guitars and production sound in general.
