Dude, where did he ever beg for sympathy??! He never asked anyone to feel sorry for him, wtf. He even said he was dumb for doing it and the overblown fashion that he was arrested in was directly proportional to the overblown fashion he leaked them in.
You're just making shit up, dude. Stop trying to paint him as a wanna be martyr. He did the time, it was bullshit, he took it like a man, and he did an interview.

He did a dumb thing, then he got sentenced. What do you want him to do? Go into Axl recluse mode?

Did you ever read the "MSL transcripts" from when he dealt with the "Spanish Maffia"? If not, give them a read, and then you'll understand how much time, effort, etc. it takes to deal with the hoarders. I don't have a link for it now, but I'll see if I can find one. I know I read it on another board a few years back. It's a good read. Shows just how insane the whole situation was/is.

Have you guys seen this youtube vid featuring all things GNR both new and old? I think it's fantastic. Take the first 2 minutes or so and put it to one of the new songs and release that as a music video pronto. Done, finished, good.
My favorite part is how he dressed up as bumble, bucket, and cancer, erm, slash.
Although him playing the Better solo dressed as bucket is fail.

Ya'll were all too eager to listen to all 9 songs, they kept us tided until Nov 28 (maybe even forced Axl's hand somewhat), but due to a little too much exposure, or "self promotion," you discount things he says and think he's a prick?
Lay out your case, please. What has he said that is definitively not true? I've only seen him make tremendous valid points (in regards to fan sites) and leak songs that I built momentum and mystique around the album.

Well, there's a difference between songwriting credits and listing who played what solo, what instrument, etc.
Does the fact that all the AFD songs were credited to "GnR" diminish the quality of the album for you?

are you kidding me? your criticism isn't directed at solos, your criticism is leveled at songwriting credits in general.
I don't see how wanting credit for writing an integral part of the song is commercializing it. the solo to NR is as memorable as anything else in that song, my question is why slash isn't given credit whereas axl is. the song isn't the same without that solo, even bucket and bumble play the solo pretty much note for note.
the two solos i mentioned above are climaxes of the song, not just tacked on, anyway, so I don't see where you got half of the stuff you were saying.
So if someone writes new verses for a song, or adds a new section to it, they shouldn't get due credit, because it would amount to "commodotizing" it?

I don't get why solos don't get writing credits. This I love and November Rain wouldn't be the same songs without those solos, yet Finck and Slash don't get credits for them.
