Music Nation, the online home for independent artists, announces Slash's Ultimate Guitar Showdown, an online competition in search of the ultimate guitar solo. Guitarists will be judged by one of the most recognizable figures in modern music: Slash, current VELVET REVOLVER and former GUNS N' ROSES guitar god, and now the animated star of wildly popular video game Guitar Hero III. Looking to serve any and every guitar-wielding gearhead, Slash's Ultimate Guitar Showdown will award one competitor, courtesy of Gibson, Slash's favorite guitar '” a Gibson Les Paul guitar '” and the setup that brings it all together '” a Marshall stack.
Slash's Ultimate Guitar Showdown will empower bedroom guitar heroes and bands with killer guitarists to go head-to-head for bragging rights. Entrants can upload their videos and/or mp3s at showdown.musicnation.com to create an artist profile beginning today. Slash will not only be the sole judge of guitar craft, but guitarists can also browse the website for hidden interview footage of the iconic axeman himself.
Musicians can enter from today through December 4. Beginning November 19, musicians will gain valuable feedback from the public, who can rank competition entries via head-to-head voting before the best ten are judged by Slash beginning on December 5. The winner will be announced on the web site December 10 with four honorable mentions.

ED ZEPPELIN's JIMMY PAGE Says It's 'A Bit Selfish To Do Just One Show' - Nov. 13, 2007
Channel 4 reports that LED ZEPPELIN may embark on a full-scale tour after their reunion gig, according to guitarist Jimmy Page.
The band, who are gearing up for their one-off show at the O2 arena in honour of Atlantic Records founder Ahmet Ertegun, are considering doing a string of dates as Page thinks it would be selfish of the band to put all their energy into just one gig.
"It's a bit silly not to because there is such massive demand," said Jimmy, who is resting up his injured finger, to Guitar World magazine.
"It's a bit selfish to do just one show. If that's it, we probably shouldn't have taken the genie out of the bottle."
The band's rescheduled gig at the O2 Arena will take place on December 10.

RAW was pretty much boring. The hype between Orton and HBK could have been a hell of a lot better. Next week the numbers promos comes to an end and hopefully and most likely it's Jericho.

One of my mates at chopaway.com pointed this out to me.... Timo Kaltia who Izzy says helped co-write some of the songs on "fire, the acoustic album" originally surfaced on Use Your Illusion 1 with Izzy. He co-wrote "Right Next Door To Hell" with Izzy and Axl.............
That's pretty cool.. I wonder what the songs will sound like on this album with an old friend helping. Should be pretty good. I'm wanting this album more and more.
And yeah any new info would be cool.. Neemo can't wait much longer.

Yeah. I wonder if any type of BBF vocals will appear on Chinese Democracy. I wouldn't mind it at all.
These Talking Metal dudes can play though. I was impressed.
