yea. bar twat it was patience i missed most from the set when i saw them in belfast. after the whole albany rant i'm surprised it was ever dropped.
i know it gets a lot of hate on here but i quite like shacklers. it's a fun little number, not amazing like their most awesome tunes but some neat goings on lyrically & on the axe.
#3452 Re: Guns N' Roses » Chinese Democracy Alternative Art and Covers. » 841 weeks ago
yea it is legit. i think there were a limited edition set of them went out to people like sasha volkova maybe.
the SOD cover is from the promo single that was sent out to radio stations & really does look like crap but the other stuff is legit & was probably meant to be officially released to the general public but got tossed aside & forgotten in the fuck-up. the general public'll maybe get their hands on it on the 30th edition of CD or some kinda bizarre anniversary edition in the future. or not.
#3453 Re: Guns N' Roses » Axl Rose - A-hole or hero? » 841 weeks ago
imo axl's both asshole & hero & some of the reasons why he's an asshole are the reasons why he's a hero but i don't really agree w/thqt article.
his behaviour is predictable & maybe boring but at least he tries to do things on his own terms & when he gets it right & delivers he is a hero more valuable 2 me than any rock star/performer since lennon/dylan..
i agree w/aussie in that one soln 4 axl would be 2 be more productive. but it's obv easier said than done 4 whatever reasons..

Being a Tool fan, I can handle the setlist if they nail it. Some of the vids confirm that they are nailing it.
u know, i had real issues with the set until i saw them live & fk me they really do put on performances that are worthy of the GnR name. they sound FANTASTIC when they're actually on stage. the band & singer are really really excellent. for those 2 hours in belfast i was real emoshunal & just the happiest fking GnR fan in the world.
it's just a drag the rest of life can't be like those 2 hours..
now i WOULD have seen the exact same show the night after in dublin if i'd had hung around & maybe then my attitude would be slightly different.
i'm seriously considering heading over to england for one of the shows in october..
as it is, i'm still bemused by a lack of Twat. axl's voice would be perfect for it these days. ITW i can understand him skipping cause his voice is so raspy atm, but a lot of the average punters would dig Twat..

I have to agree... Rules is rules... axl is not above the law.. pay up and learn a fucking lesson
the rules r stupid. don't pay.
#3456 Re: Guns N' Roses » GNR Gamble on the tour Game » 842 weeks ago
haha, great thread.
1. true
2. under
3. under(??) (i dont think they'll be on time or under 30mins late for 3 shows of this tour)
4. false. they'll get bottled on their return to the UK if not a couple of stops along the way.
5. false. tho i wouldn't be shocked if i were wrong.
6. false. tho i wouldn't be shocked if i were wrong.
7. hmm... under
8. false. unless it's axl tinkling the keys like he did with prostitute but that doesn't really count.

No doubt he still likes to talk about Axl any chance he gets.
mick wall likes to talk about himself any chance he gets.
If you think about it, very little from the whole saga makes sense. The wait for the album, the way band members have gone, the silences, the dramas. All of us 'armchair quaterbacks' can identify how unusual the band is, and how many 'mistakes' they could be said to have made, and most of us arn't even in the industry. The sum of all this 'evidence' to me - goes beyond just "Axl must be a fuckhead" - it just doesn't make sense that way - it has to be that the same brain that gives him amazing artistic and musical talents - also makes him sensitve and he just isn't able to peform for us on tap. I think his skills came at a price, and that price is that he needs to do things his own way in his own time in order to have enough piece of mind to function.
So I guess while I agree that half of what goes on is fucked up, I also think Axl's amazing on a musical level, and to cope with what goes on in his world, and so no matter how much gets fucked, I'll always be supporting the band, and if that means waiting around for a few hours at a show, I'm good for it.
i tend to agree with a lot of what you're saying.
BUT the guy is nearly 50. he's been top dog in GnR for over 20 years now.
he's obviously blown a lot of money on yoda & other attempts at getting his shit together, and blown a lot of money on not being able to keep his shit together. @ some stage you have to wonder why he can't function on a relatively sedate, mundane level, no matter how irreparable his psychological make-up might be - i think a lot of it is due to the people he's surrounded himself with, their ineptitude, & there's also a point that courting such controversy does garner a lot of attention. obv it is also a lot to do with how fucked up his head is.
but by this stage he oughta have figured if the system he has in place isn't working for him he should change it - but since he hasn't changed it he must figure it is working for him. & these incidents are merely collateral damage on the way to keeping him functioning on whatever basic or normal level he lives on.
ftr i wouldn't have minded waiting in dublin except that axl & then two stewards told me to go home.
the fact he came on afterwards i think was the bigger let down than having him leave the show in the first place.
in terms of defeats it's a relatively minor one, but in the grand scheme of things i think it's very unlike axl & i don't know how well he will reconcile himself to such an incident. maybe he'll just brush it off, but my reading of his lyrics & history would suggest that he would be extremely uncomfortable at having been coaxed back on stage if he really wanted to leave.
in a sense he lost a lot of face & maybe even surrendered a bit of power to the rest of the band if they were a reason for his return to the stage in dublin. (i don't think it's quite that important an incident mind, & didn't he used to say he was willing to go back onstage in st louis? so my guess is he actually did go back on stage relatively happily as a means to Get Paid)
edit: but this is the 2nd gig in close proximity where a bandmember has been "having a go" at the management - bumble walked off at sturgis remember?
maybe things are changing.. tho with all the chances of changes before i seriously doubt it.

3 bad nights, 1 good night. but when they are actually on stage playing, they've sounded really good.. things'll calm down but the pressure when they return to the uk will be intense.
#3459 Re: Guns N' Roses » Stinson Vents at Del James During Dublin Concert » 842 weeks ago
The guitarists regularly hung over the crowd and not once did they get anything throw at them, why would they.
they got fairly pelted during CD & the start of Jungle. i was standing below Bumble & he moved into the middle of the stage pretty early, ashba & 4tus made trips over & got a similar reaction - tho most of the crowd were trying to get off & have a good time. i think even some of the morons throwing bottles thought they were having a good time. but there definitely were some bitter prats throwing stuff at anyone in their line of fire, axl & the band.
the rest of your report is pretty accurate, times especially..
