I agree Russ. I think the newer songs that haven't been played yet would have to be Stay Frosty, Blood and Fire, Big River, and maybe Outta Space. Those sound like they could pulled off pretty well in a live show. I'm happy with the balance of songs from this tour and only a month to go till the VH adventure for me. @-D- : Yeah i know right? xD It's a pretty fast song. I got to give the band props for pulling out China Town a few times live. I saw that on Youtube and it looked pretty tough. China has to be in my top 3 favorites on the album.

I thought this kind of discussion would of ended back in 06. In my personal opinion this current version of the band has redeemed the GNR name from obscurity and giving the stuff that fans want to hear. This is just my personal opinion. I've seen solo bands before and these guys play like a rock n' roll band even though everything won't be the same as the classic or UYI lineup. That's life.   Axl said that if he did go solo and not use the name, it would be completely different from this and he probably wouldn't do some of these songs if it wasn't for some of the band members encouraging him. (I still love that joke he did that if he didn't continue performing, he would make a Guns N' Roses themed restaurant) Even though that plan would suck; it would look pretty bad ass in a dream of munching on a burger listening to It's so Easy playing on the GNR jukebox. lol xD  Of course I'm like all of you that want new music or something else to happen to fill the void; but I would like this version of the band to carry on. A reunion right now just would seem desperate. I think Axl is singing great and kicking ass for his age. 50 years...! Most singers can't pull that shit off anymore at that age. I would like for all the drama between the different alumni camps to end and for world peace to be throughout the world; but that's just not an option for the time being. I'm sure one of these days Tommy, DJ, or Ron will finally tell him it's time to make a album and release some of the cuts. xD I'm hoping to catch a show when they come back to do arenas. The problem is putting the blame on Axl and everybody involved isn't going to make anything happen sooner. If you don't want to see the shows with the new band, then don't. There are plenty of other options to fill your appetite for destruction. I might catch a Slash show if Guns isn't in town on a day where I need to go somewhere with friends and rock out.

Russ, I enjoyed your Syd article. Syd Barrett was a huge influence in the change of music in general in the late 60s from his song writing to the way he played guitar. Only a few artists ever went out of their way to experiment with that kind of music. I actually listened to a bunch of his solo material that was on youtube and I was quite impressed. Still need to find a copy of some of that good music I get online for a decent price or some store. I was able to catch the VH1 Classic behind the scenes film on Wish You Were Here and there was alot of sadness you could see within some of the band alumni when they go back to the Syd appearance in '75.

That's a pretty good setlist. I love that Unchained is the opening. That's sure to get people having a fun time at the start!!

Only a few months away till I get to seem live in NC. Going to be amazing! Going to be a rocking time! From what I've seen on some of the youtube clips of the past few shows, I'm impressed!! I've been telling how amazing the album is to some of my friends who love Van Halen! So far China Town, The Trouble with Never, AS IS, and You & Your Blues are my top 4 favorites. Stay Frosty, Woman, Bullethead, and Outta Space are getting up there as well. Big River is starting to grow on me alot more too. Tattoo has definitely become an awesome song to sit back and chill too from the first time I heard it back in Jan. I really dig the song. ugh... I can't pick a favorite with this record unlike some of the other VH albums. Just pure, un-adulterated Rock N' Roll!!! That's what the music world needs.
