Izzy
Marc CanterHe played with Izzy in 2006 and said they had rekindled their friendship. Marc Canter has steadfastly maintained that he is friends with both Axl and Slash.
maybe axl doesn't see it the same way as those guys anymore.. or maybe fernando doesn't.. or maybe they didn't on the particular day those emails were sent..
i know tho that in his book marc canter notes that his wife was axl's hairdresser until 2001 or so, so perhaps there is some distance to that relationship which would see him on an enemies list.
but i agree this is petty & embarrassing for gnr & msl. kinda funny tho, the list that is, whether real or not.

news broke here on sunday.. kinda put a cloud over the superbowl parties. gary moore is defo a legend, a godfather of hard rock if u will. his presence has for a long time hovered over irish (rock) music like phil lynott/rory g sorta like what everything needs to be judged against..
blasted After the War all day yesterday. he's actually got a really good solo discog most of his earlier stuff is super.

tho he was prob only Ireland's 2nd or 3rd greatest guitar player, he's still one of the best ever.
obv Rory G is the best Ever & not just from Ireland, & Viv Campbell's work on Holy Diver ensures his genius, so i'd prob put Gary #3.. p much woulda been hearlded as a rock god had he been born anywhere else.. i guess irish people, especially up north, aren't as malleable or fame-hungry to seek the recognition they deserve.. nonetheless nice of BF to recognise the man..

You know, the best thing about Axl's tweet is that it looks like he's moving on from CD. No relaunch. That's good news, imo. Restart with a new album.
while i don't read that faithfully into i'm defo in the camp supporting a NEW album.
i would like to hear all the CD tracks & remixes & shit, but defo don't want that stuff ahead of FRESH material.
imo leave CD & its baggage in the vaults & release that when everyone's dead or dying, or in 20 years, but now seize the moment & whatever momentum that this band has & make an album with them.. even a finck/bucket album would be preferable for me over a CD re-issue, but i really want material from the new guys - i feel like this new band has a synergy & chemistry, won through touring first, that the finck/bucket years never captured as they were a bunch of session players who took on an extended job..

ah. well i got the feelgood vibe from the HoB tracks, The Blues & CD (The Blues has never sounded better than '01) & then Maddy confirmed to me that Axl 'still had it' & as a result i kinda kept faith & as a result distanced myself from the leaks 'cause i knew i was gonna enjoy the [finished] album whenever it dropped.. but i can defo appreciate getting that happy feeling. like i said i've felt it towards Better this past wee while. classic track no doubt.

Future music was never promised to us...and who knows if it will ever come? Who knows if Axl will ever tour in the US again? Chinese Democracy was a rushed product (how can that be after over a decade?) with major flaws in production and mixing.
Part of me is regretting ever stumbling upon Appetite as a struggling teen in high school. How could I ever know that 12 years later, I'd be doing this shit? Why do things have to be so dysfunctional? We are Axl's fans, but also his ennemies. We are bitter because Axl treats us as such. When he dangles new music in front of our faces, we all come running back.
This things is so broke, it's ridiculous.
wtf
u have a choice u know.....

is Better really ur fave Guns song r were u being facetious in ur joy of it being re-issued?
we should do a poll r something.. something i don't have 2 count..
Better'd maybe be in my top5 off of CD, really fell in love with it last year (& before).. but doubt it'd make my top 10/15 Guns numbers.. know it's a colourful finck number but i agree it needs moar bucket!! most all CD does tho..

MSL I think what underwhelmed people was what you actually "released/said" on 2nd Feb. I am inclined to believe that you legitimately have documents, I also thought that 2nd Feb something a little more concrete or substantial would have been "released", Your original video had intimated that a truckload of stuff was going to be unloaded on that date if there had been silence from the GNR camp. Rightly or wrongly, with or without you fanning the flames, the 2nd Feb was built up to be something quite "interesting"
Now perhaps that was your original intention and things changed in your game plan between then and Feb 2nd which is your prerogative. But when the resulting disappointment from some forum peeps was directed back in the form of anger, abuse etc - whilst childish, puerile and unnecessary, it was not entirely surprising.
Right on Aussie.
what you did release on Feb. 2nd was absolutely nothing. Most fans picked it apart in seconds, and it seemed like something a GN'R geek would cook up by piecing together rumors of the last five years of the band.
You didn't say anything substantial. Nothing was shocking, and then afterwards... "Doc McGhee FIRED from GN'R"... umm, okay... like Azoff before him, Merck before Azoff, Doug Goldstein, etc.
You haven't said one thing yet that's a bombshell. But you want to be compensated for you and your people... I get that, and that's fine.
+1
even including quotes from emails/documents (lyrics even?!) would have gone someway to verifying the claims MSL made in his statement without revealing or damaging the respective parties any more than they already endured.
as it stands it's definitely, "oh well.. ok next order of business then." like the interest and momentum were drained.. not to mention exacerbating the illegitimacy of the whole affair.. to put it politely..
i guess when it comes out it comes out if there really is anything to come out.. like with most stuff that's actually legitimately GnR.. it was exciting, now it's kinda not but it might be fun again in the future..
