i think the day-to-day operations of the band are revealed in the locations of the band members & a few times Ron & others have said they communicate constantly via txt/email. they aren't getting together everyday, the 6 or 7 guys, to jam rehearse or write or record. they are all sitting in their own homes focusing on their own projects until one day Axl decides he wants to do something other than kickboxing or watching loony tunes with fernando then the other guys drop their wives/families/work & rush out to malibu asap..

they couldn't fit the porn files on the memory stick..

I could imagine Axl walking away forever if this turns out to be genuine. The guy goes out his way to keep his privacy and live quietly probably resenting the exposure and attempts by others, even fans, to get a peice of him.
After having books written about him without his consent, the years of negative spin he gets in the media, the resentment towards him by some GNR fans, and after having his most personal album leaked after all that was invested in it... and now having his personal privacy invaded and soiled like that, it could well be be the last straw.

I guess I could see it that way.  I don't think it'd be over because this would paint Axl and GNR in a negative light.  That's already been done to death, so I don't see this as damaging in that way.  But as you pointed out, Axl could just say "F it". Enough is enough.  Right now he's not doing what he's doing to make the most money.  If he was, he'd call 21 and make up or just suck it up and smile for the camera.  So he's either doing if for the fans, the dwindling few that remain, or just because it's all he knows.  And now that some "fans" are turning against him in the worst way.  What would be the point of him going on?  I wouldn't blame him if he called it quits, but in a way it'd be like saying, "you win."  I'd hate for the leakers and hackers to get a sense of entitlement and that they accomplished their mission.

this is why this won't be the end of him.. he, or anyone for that matter, is capable of recovering from some leaked personal & professional shit - i'm sure those in the business have known exactly how crazy he is for years, i'm sure bumble/dj/etc were well aware of his business conduct when they signed up.. like has been noted, none of this stuff is all that surprising to us let alone industry insiders. so in a sense it's really not THAT big a deal, y'know??
& i'm sure he's strong enough not to have his career thwarted by some relative nobody when he's withstood lawsuits from ex-bandmembers & wives.
my point is he's fried bigger fish than this fuck up & always found his way back.
he's not going to throw in the towel just because MSL pulled a fast one and blew a load of embarrassing GnR jizz over the internet..
worst case scenario imo is two or three bandmembers leave & some in-house reorganisation.. as long as mother goose stays everyone else is replaceable (tho obv preferrably bumble & tommy stay 2!!)

i will say this tho... his laundry could use washin 'fore hangin' up all over town..

i think "April 2010 Axl email dissolving GNR and insisting DJ Ashba be sued" is p self-explanatory.. it was around the time Dj was being a dick trashing hotel rooms & bragging about getting a waiter fired or something on his twitter???

would love to read Axl's thoughts on VR!

#3265 Re: Guns N' Roses » 101 Document Titles From Axls Laptop (No Actual Documents Tho) » 818 weeks ago

it has been very quiet on the twitter front from GnR members today..

i'm sure if you hacked into beta's email account today you'd have another fucking field day..

regarding you Nancies, i don't think this is big enough to send axl into hiding forever. he's survived worse shit than this, and so have GnR - or rather the GnR name, this is without doubt the biggest hiccup the new band have encountered.. as a result i think it's enough to maybe see a few changes in personel.. but i'm even beginning to doubt that now. it is possible this shit might help solidify the line-up & unite them in a way.
but i don't think that will happen. i wouldn't be at all surprised to see Axl touring with at least a new guitarist & a different bassist next world tour.
i think Axl's thing of never giving in will probs see him through. & if needs-be he might be lucky enough to find some more talented people who are desperate enough to subjugate themselves to his rule for a couple of years (in the hope of maybe getting a paycheck one day)..

[MSL's] obviously on a huge ego trip.  He is known in the GNR world and he can't let go of that.  He's easily as sick and twisted as Axl could ever dream of being.
“We are feeding their egos and all the while, they are laughing at both you and I, whilst their sites get attention and they claim "kudos" in hacker forums, as creativity grinds to an anxiety-ridden halt.”[/b]

obv, & i think the same could well apply to GnR.
but what would you have us do? chase this unscrupulous fellow from our doors?? if it's not him it'd be someone else.. ignore him?? "maybe if GnR/Axl would actually release or do something then" this MSL leak wouldn't hold quite so much attn..

MSL's only the messenger. & tho he clearly loves the attn he actually could been a much bigger jerk about this whole thing than he has been..

by talkin about him you're just providing his ego with more fuel.. & it's much more fun to speculate on content of those documents.. or even daydream of a Betterday in GnRland than to waste your energy on MSL..

re: US tour.. i actually wouldn't be surprised if one did occur, almost as a reaction to these leaks.
by the same token i wouldn't be surprised the next time you see Axl on an American stage it's with a different cast than the last time he played..

Some people say he's a wonderful guy, others think he's a complete prick. You can find examples of him seeming like a relaxed, intelligent, funny and friendly guy (eg 2006 eddie trunk interview) or examples of him seeming emotional and violent (eg photographer incident). Is he either of those things, none of those things, or both of those things? I can't say - but they've always been associated with him.
Everyone has good and bad sides. Axl has amazing musical gifts, and, if what we hear is true, he has some flaws too - like his anger or whatever. That doesn't mean i think everything he's ever done is right, but it means that i know it's the price of admission to his musical genius party if you will. It's just how it's always been. In an ideal world, maybe those things wouldn't happen.

I mean the guy is ment to enjoy the band. He's releasing info that damages their reputation, may damage relationships within the band, harms their financial interests and future plans, and potentially interfers with Axl's relationship which seems to have been his one solace since his romantic problems of the past.
So as much as this absolutely interests me, i'm also finding the whole saga sort of disgusting in that fans of the band can seriously fuck them over like this.

If this was to cause Axl to retire, what then, would msl be proud?

it's defo an unfair judgement from where i'm sitting, but his volatile nature has wrecked more havoc and badness than his artistic output has been able to balance!

my prob is the price of admission does or shouldn't have to be so high, especially not these days.. it's 2011, for all his intelligence & money he is still the little kid from 1992.

it is sad that fans can do this to a band they love, but a lot of fans are fans of a GnR that doesn't exist anymore. what this GnR is is a different GnR from what they had. & given Axl's lies & deception towards the fans it's quite understandable something like this would occur.

What's shocking really is that someone leaked it to an outsider, not that it exists in the first place.

And for the record, for me this changes nothing, I've always been interested in Axl's music, and I've always known he gets into fights with people and that it's not a rosey happy world all the time in GNR land and that everything doesn't always come out as expected...for me I love the music and band despite all that, and I'm sure it's the same for most people. Anyone offended by this type of thing would surely have written them of decades ago right?

that is p damning & yet more evidence of the cancer consuming GnR. the documents leaked seem to be mainly negative, purile & petty. the person who leaked it obv wanted to show axl's meanness & strangeness. yet the person was held in enough confidence & was close enough to obtain these documents in the first place.

we can excuse axl's behaviour and explain it away as normal by comparison but at the end of the day he's been head honcho of this organisation now for 20years & rather than things improving from a professional well-oiled machine befitting one of the great rock band's and legacy's we've descended into a level of pettiness that's uncomfortable even for GnR fans. every band goes through it's peaks and troughs, it's just axl seems to consistantly lead GnR down the same dark paths no matter who his bandmates are.. eventually that shit sucks the life out of supporters.. the fact that nothing changes gets wearisome, no?? (of course we've had tours & one 14-track lp, but even with line-up changes the behaviour of axl remains depressingly predictable - from these documents you have to wonder where the loyalty of Tommy/Dizzy etc. steams from??)
eventually there will have to be a day of reckoning, a day of judgement on whether axl wins or he loses. he seems intent on never giving up so i imagine GnR will survive this easily enough (though we may see the line-up rotated in the not-too-distant-future). but he has to see that what he is keeping alive he has turned into an embarrassing & petty wreck rather than the inglorious monster he once fronted.

i think it's only fair to call into question the legitimacy of the band & axl's rule of GnRland when 'evidence' such as this comes to light. it defo is cause for re-evaluating the band & whatever output they manage.
