it didn't take grunge/the 90's to make hair/pop/metal uncool. i'm p sure bon jovi were uncool from the moment jon did that stupid thing where he was suspended from a wire above the crowd. but they were uncool before that too, i just don't care to thik of it.
sambora is a good guitarist. but there are plenty of great guitarists who have made shite music.

Like I said, no way GN'R makes it past the fab four.

This is type of stuff I refuse to do to "help out". Like if Axl is going to completely ignore the fans' begging for a US tour, why would I waste time promoting his band in a bracket that doesn't matter in the long run just because Del & Jarmo asked me to via fb or twitter?

perfectly reasonable response. did del/gnr really put this up on fb/twitter? if so, p ghey..
htgth morons usually do flood these type of polls.. it embarrassing for everyone really..

they actually sound really great, it's the sound on the recording that is shit.

#3165 Re: Dust N' Bones & Cyborg Slunks » The original Guns N' Roses » 814 weeks ago

yea that song was like the perfect culmination of their rock sonwriting. one of my very favourite GnR & rock songs.
agree re: farm aid/91 really them being at their peak. i think that was them at the top of the mountain as Niven would put it

can completely empathise with Duff if that is the case. tho of course i'm lucky never to have been locked in a room with perry farrell, he still is an super annoying prat.

for me, the people who think dismiss the addition of the horns/backing singers/keyboards are kidding themselves. the 'original fire' of the AFD-5 was extinguished @ Donnington in '88, if not before. you can't replicate that intensity year after year after year anyway. if GnR hadn't mixed up their shit with Illusions then they really would have been the Sex Pistols of their time.
the additional elements into that raw material gave GnR an evolution & credibility they'd never have achieved keeping the same set-up. they had to spread their wings or become even more stale.
& if people think they are going to recapture the Ritz vibe in 2011/12 they are seriously delusional. the only one that remains anywhere as close to the '87/'88 level of madness is Axl, & that's only when he gets on stage, & he is not that streetwise skinny punk kid sinead o'connor wanted to bring home and give a bowl of soup to anymore, he's even less likeable..

I swear outside a few songs, I can't stand The Grateful Dead. I'd have to be "rrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrreally fuckin high on drugs" to enjoy that shit.

karma for whoever can name that quote 22

mate, Ripple is like the best song ever.
(bill hicks, innit?)
NiN are a p great band, but trent doesn't fucking come close to garcia, or for that matter robert hunter.

my problem with trash like this poll is that people actually get paid to think this stuff up. this actually one of the most stupid polls i've seen in a few years. whoever's responsible should be ashamed. & whoever is paying these goons should sack them & give that money to people who need it, or people with brains.

Roxette are fucking awesome "low end" my arse they've more hits  than the rest of the '86 nominee's combined! inc GnR.

& FWIW - KISS > Chicago >>>>>>>>>>>>>> Bon fucking Jovi
Chicago were really great.

also, tbpfh, i couldn't really give a fuck whether GnR get inducted. i'd almost prefer they didn't & remained outside the status quo.. but it's too late for that not Jungle & PC have become ubiquitous at sports shows or tv ad's for milk.. they've definitely lost their edge..
