axl has a chance now to alienate the one continent that treats GnR like a massive band - i think i'll wait for confirmation from the horses mouth on this one/not getting my hopes up til Axl walks on stage..

a government has opened a war on it's people, yet this doesn't qualify as justification for intervention?!
i LOVE how the americans are saying it's about Oil when it was only a few years ago the rest of the world were saying that 'no, american intervention in Iraq isn't justified, it's merely to shore up their oil supply (& a personal vendetta).' yet when there is actual justification the americans suddenly think intervention is a bad idea. the hypocrisy of the american people & state over libya & gaddafi would be laughable if it wasn't so disgusting & evil.

i believe not even Axl has a clue what he/GnR are doing right now.
the choices are obv but he's just incapable of making that decision right now. he'll probably settle on a happy medium/compromise & the next album (IF there is a next album) will be a mix of old Bucket/Finck stuff & the new band. but it doesn't look like he's got a plan or is going to make a plan any time soon.
does anyone know what Axl's schedule is these days? before CD's release people could at least say he was working around the clock. but with a wealth of material sitting in the vault & no indication he's willing to write new material with the new guitarists all i can figure is he's sitting around shooting the shit with Del & Fernando, maybe playing a bit of Xbox/PS3, calling in some hookers n blow.. sounds like a nice enough life tbpfh..

I'm pretty sure I like every single Bon Jovi song I've ever heard better than every single Zeppelin or Queen song I've ever heard. I find Zeppelin boring..
I also like Bon Jovi much more than I do the Beatles so..... When you're one of the most consistent and top recording and touring acts of the last 30 years you should be in the RRHOF end of story. VERY FEW bands or artists from any genre have had as successful a career as Bon Jovi. If Madonna is in Bon Jovi fucking deserves to be in ten years ago.

if it is a festival perhaps PJ will play on one night & SG on the other
matt cameron is an awesome drummer but there is simply no way he'd be able to play two 2hr or 2&1/2hr sets back to back. we could be wrong & he maybe could play for 5 or even 6 hours (if Temple of a Dog gets an airing) but i'd doubt it.
Backspacer was just alright. completely oversold/overhyped. not better than Riot Act or Binaural & nowhere near as good as Yield or their first three albums.
No Code & self-titled are the only real stinkers in the PJ catalogue.

isn't there an unreleased backstage/tour documentary from around the time of the ISE video??
i disagree with Niven regarding it's release. in hindsight it would've only added to their sleazy reputation & proffered further ammo to those who think they made bad decisions - which is a good thing as it pisses people off & keeps the mainstream away from GnR a la nice boys don't play rock n roll! like i wouldn't want anyone to be a fan of the band if they hated on the ISE video the way people hate on Axl or OIAM or.. it woulda been more fuel to keep people AWAY while attracting the RIGHT crowd.
