IRS is great. robin's crazy bends n ron n buckets sonic bullets hint at the overproduction which plagued the making of the album while axl's screeching his way thru his paranoid wreckage hurling whatever he finds while the tune rollercoasters along til it builds to a classic GnR climax. perfect snapshot of the story of CD.

I wish they'd just not use their Twitter account instead of making some vague post with a link to a past GNR reference every holiday.
i thought the UYI one was the most sardonic & witty reference yet
(& they did tweet about CD re-entering the billboard 200)
tho we - or twitterers - should bombard the GnR twitter account asking for a new album. the first reply to any non-music related GnR tweet should be variations on this question, "any word on the new album yet?"
if i were a twitterer i'd tweet along those lines.

enjoyed this. could soundtrack an episode of Sons of Anarchy. it's at its best on the full tilt rockers. it's fantastic then. only really one slower tempo number is there a mis-step. good stuff.

IRS woulda been the best lead single if they were planning on promoting the record. its characteristics, flawed & aspiring, & lyrics represent & explain CD & Axl's CD-era side of the story most explicitly & it's a rocker w/a great Axl scream.

Civil War is the last true GnR song
but would Steven have been able to put together that brilliant YCBM intro? or play Coma or Estranged?
tbh the drums are a nominal part of the picture on the early albums save for one or two nices touches such as the cowbell or the YCBM intro. it was only with CD GnR had drummers really having an influence in the songs.. Steven had much, much better hair than Matt.

yea dublin '06 axl was on stage @ 8pm sharp. i missed first 4 songs cause of not expecting him til later. you just cant win. out of five or six times seeing them that's been the only occasion he wasn't at least an hour late in starting.

I feel about the same about Slash performing with the Black Eyed Peas, the same butt hurt I felt when Axl said he was a BIG fan of Limp Bizkit in '99.
The Black Eyed Peas are The Rolling fucking Stones compared to Limp Bizkit.
