crashmansion.com was a source? so the venue had it listed? when i checked it wasn't there. I thought about maybe trying to pose as a promoter trying to book a show that day to see if anything was there, but decided against it.

The VMA's the last couple of years have really sucked. It used to be an event, now it's just a joke. Not sure GNR would fit in anymore, nor am I sure I'd want them to. I could just see them playing between Lady Gaga and The Jonas Brothers. Rock on!
Serj whatshisname covering Dead Kennedys with the Foo Fighters a couple years ago was pretty awesome.

So anyone saying this Q&A was horse shit needs to go read some of the other Q&A's given over the years by these guys, and then come back and read this one.
To be fair, I never said the Q&A was horse shit, I was complaining about the state of the band and the state of Ron in it.
I give Ron all the props in the world, nice guy, good performer, whatever -- but the thesis of the post was in the last sentence.
He's as much a part of GnR as Richard is Rhianna.
That is horse shit.

Anyway, I do feel the international numbers are enough for the band to secure a release of future stuff.
I don't doubt that he can still get funding to release something -- but funding to flame message boards and watch cartoons in a studio for 17 years with no accountability or restraint?
Axl barely released the album under those circumstances, what makes you think that he'd release something other than the Chinese Democracy B sides in the future?
Believe me, a lot of the sales of the disc were to people who had been waiting for that album since puberty. Curiosity and mythos surrounding Taiwanese Sovereignty will be much, much less, and therefore, will not sell nearly as much.
And he'll be lucky to get Big Lots to buy 1.3 thousand copies, much less 1.3 million.
Axl played his hand, and he doesn't seem like the kind of guy to humble up and take a step backwards.

Exactly. I have nothing against any of the members of this "Nu GNR" except maybe Dick but that's a whole different story.

Maybe we should just freeze the board until further notice if we're only gonna focus on the positive.
There's plenty of positive to focus on. Like for example; Ron taking time out of his day to do this at all. Or him giving detailed, in depth answers when they questions could've been dodged or ignored. Hey look! There's two things right there!
