the album can come out while he is finishing up the nin tour

How would that work out PR wise uh? You release an album as a band but your main guitar player is busy playing for another band? To me that sounds like asking for trouble with the media in all aspects. And Axl needs all the positive PR he can get. It doesnt look good when your main guitar guy is off somewhere playing for Nince Inch Nails.

for those of us who like and respect Robin, we will get to see him do what he does best this year - perform.

Well yes, but I'm not here to see him in NIN or performing with NIN.

And I haven't even mentioned the moral dilemma of playing in two big bands at the same time. Maybe Axl is just nicer than what I am.

Robin Finck goes to tour with NIN for the rest of 2008. I think that's pretty much safe to say. Just what does that tell you people? You won't see the album this year at all. That's certainly NOT good as we all expected it would come out this year due to the previous rumours and halfway confirmations done.

So even if he IS in GNR but just tours with NIN to cover dead time then I would say that says a lot. For me it's a setback beyond most of what's been going on the past years. I thought with BH gone this band would be close to finished but they got that taken care of. If Stinson or Finck quits then that's just it. Then it's not a band but a parody.

If Finck just quit then I would say pretty much that that's it for this project. How can you go on tour without your two most important contributors to your albums in Finck and BH? You can replace people up to some point but you at least have to have them onstage when you promote your album.

So, best case, Finck is still in GNR and that means another year of nothing. And that is your BEST case scenario.

I think we all can agree that this is not a positive thing for Axl or Guns N Roses, Chinese Democracy-wise. It's a major setback.

Remember Tommy during the VGH tour? He kept saying he might on the road when CD comes out, which would've suited him just fine. After returning to the fold, he expected GNR to embark on a long tour to promote the album.

Goes to show how much they know about what's going on in this band. 16

Greeeeeat. This band is SO fucked. Good try though. Fun while it lasted. Give Slash a call. Robin was as important as Stinson in this band. He was a core member. When he leaves GNR to tour with a big band it tells me a few things about this band. If youre in a big band you dont leave for another big band and think it's ok. You have loyalty. If Robin discovered this band wouldnt release anything the next 2 years and felt it was about time to do something else then that's fine with me. Would do it myself. Why wait around for a band that doesn't even release an album? If he just left coz he got sick of waiting and couldnt give a rats ass if the album was coming out and now basiclaly cluster-fucked all of Axl's plans this year, then I have no support for Robin Finck and would be happy to see Slash back (and thats as likely as me doing Keira Knightley in the back of a limo)

I once played Catcher in The Rye on a local College radio station and my co-hostess was surprised that this could be Guns N Roses. I quote her; "it actually sounds good!"

The last VR album was hopeless. Doubt they'll go on for very long.

Welcome DCK! 5

IMO Zoot versoion is Zoots version nothing more nothing less...like you said everyone has their own story to tell..and ya cant just call someone a liar just cuz...from his recollectin thats what it was like working for GnR in 01-02...

Thank you and yes, that I can agree with you fully on. There's not lairs here or facts. Just interpretations from different human beings. Finding an objective truth is like looking for Santa.

I think the article is a bloody good read about PAST GNR doings. We're talking history here, BH era, 2002...that stuff. I've always found that era one of the most interesting GNR eras ever. And it's great how GNR people now frantically back paddle and try to keep as much distant from the article as possible. Zoot's version if probably not right, but I doubt GNR people's story is much more right. It's like this. I've dealt with the same stuff on another forum being admin. The parting singer and the guitarist have completely different views on how it all went down. The truth is somewhere inbetween, but being in the whole deal it's hopeless to see it anything different than "my side is right, fuck the rest". smile
