I'm excited. It almost feels like we're gonna get 20 new GNR songs live. AV/dc will fit Axl perfectly. It's the only other great rock band I can see him fronting, except for
Led Zeppelin and Nazareth perhaps

I'm not saying matt's a saint, but I guess my thing is I see him as one of the least problematic in GNR!
If things like him not being into the other VR candidates bug you guys I can only imagine what you make of it when Axl eats a Parisian security guard, or is ruthlessly "held down by 5 fucking assholes when he's not even fighting", or goes off at someone who touches his car door or whatever
I think Axl only ate a security guard in Stockholm to be fair

I hated the original solo from the first day and that has never happened before with any other GNR song. I agree that it's carefully orchestrated to fit the rest of the music which makes it even worse. When I heard it I was like: "After all those hours in the studio that's all we got?!" It would probably sound better without the orchestra though 'cause there's just too much going on. I agree with James and I think the fan versions without the solo are better.
Slash's solo is all improvisation, but it's still better and has more feel. I was hoping it would be better though, so I guess it's true that he's lazy.
Needless to say, but I voted Slash
I don't have anything against Robin's playing in general. His soloing on Better is among my top ten GNR solos

It's been mentioned in other threads, but it's not only that Slash is a better player now than during the UYI tour, his tone is also way better. Thanks to both better playing technique and that he has found the perfect settings or something. I don't know..
