I think ppl just can't believe he's serious about it. Also, they 'why'... I mean, I know its about the Resources, but you can't just take over a country because you want their assets?! That's how wars begin.

It being a distractions a possibility. Either the epstein files, &/or the military bombing the VZ boats being a war crime. They could be covering something up with that. They've yet to release the video, and there was recent talk the planes were disguised as civilian planes. Could be guilty or war crimes. Also what was up with renaming The Department of Defense to The Department of War??

I think they're hiding something. The changing of the planes look could've been trumps idea and hegseth went along with it. 4+ years ago John Mathis, Kelly, Bolton & Tillerson were talking him out of crazy stuff like this. Now their amateurs in there doing as he says.

No…this is i don’t a fuck mode.

Trump’s career in politics is nearing the end.

The feckless Dems will lose if their messaging focuses on Greenland and Europe doesn’t do anything.

The Dems ain’t winning this game and it’ll only get worse. There’s no opposition.

I’ve said it before and I’ll say it again. Trump doesn’t care about the senate or congress because they’re feckless and they move like turtles. Why wait for that incompetence? Bc it is…it’s total incompetence by the two branches that allegedly hold equal powers.

But they don’t do shit. And their decisions will go to court and then another court and then another bc the judges are equally feckless and worthless.

They did this to themselves.

Trumps approval rating is way higher than the senate and congress that sits there and strokes itself off. Doing nothing. Saying nothing. But showing up for puff piece news interviews and social media posts.

If i were Trump I’d do the same thing while all these worthless individuals in power twiddle thumbs and line their own pockets.

Every matchup is killer...

Seahawks vs 49ers

I'm calling it now....this is the first huge upset in the playoffs. Darnold will collapse like he did last year against the Rams. Actually...I was hoping the Rams would have to go to Seattle instead of Chicago.

On the other hand, losing Kittle for the year is a huge blow to the 49ers. They were also dog shit against Seattle a couple weeks ago. McCaffrey will have to carry the load.

I just have a feeling. I also think it'll be low scoring... similar to the previous game.

Broncos vs Bills

Predicting another upset here... although not sure it would technically be an upset since this is probably the most inexperienced #1 seed ever.

Bills have to be hungrier for it than ever before...their usual adversaries not in the playoffs. Combine this with a completely untested Nix and the Bills sneak out of Denver with a win.

Bears vs Rams

I hate to say it and I hope I'm wrong....

Rams

Rams mean business and the Bears will have to essentially play mistake free the entire game. If we witness anything similar to the first half of the Packers game, it will be over quickly.

Hopefully the weather becomes a major factor. Instead of rain, I wish the football gods would give us another fog bowl.

Patriots vs Texans

This is my #1 most anticipated game. Yes...even more than the Bears game.

IMO....whoever wins this game is going to the Superbowl.

It's the biggest test of the season for both teams. Can the Patriots score on that dominant defense? Can Stroud get into a rhythm and live up to his potential? While not a perfect comparison, this year's Texans team is similar to the 2000 Ravens. The offense doesn't need to play shootouts to win. Just put up 20 points and you'll probably win...maybe 10 points if the defense gets red hot.

Win or lose...both teams had great seasons. Texans season was pretty much over right from jump street...a collapse similar to the Ravens and Redskins until their defense saved the season. That trajectory also similar to the 00 Ravens...crap until they went on that run.

I'm going with the upset....Texans in a low scoring game.

I also realize this batch of predictions probably off the mark....very low chance of 3 upsets.

We'll see....

Edit

Herbert...who gets comparisons to Josh Allen while Harbaugh claims he'll be a HOF caliber QB...was exposed as a QB who can't even read defenses.

This reminds me of Brady's criticisms of modern day QBs, their approach to the game, and how they are coached from high school, college, to the pros....and why he considers Mahomes light years above all the others.

Regarding the bears, I tend to disagree. Not because your rational is wrong. It's because they didn't just start doing 'this.'

It's not ideal, but Caleb seems to like the pressure. They can't go down 21-3 again by halftime. That much I agree with. He can't wait to turn it on until he feels pressure. Also, going for it less on 4th down and taking 2-3 more field goals in the first half (as the bears COULD have done) makes the score look a bit better. 21-9 at the half still sucks..but it's different no?

Herbert doesn't seem to have it. Deserves 1 or 2 more years, but he's seemingly mediocre at this point.

If I was Pittsburgh I wouldn't have moved on from Tomlin. Guy gets you in the playoffs most years, but they're taking a chance and moving on. I don't think giving him a 40 year old Aaron Rodgers was a fair shake for his final season.

Tomlin quit...he effectively resigned. Watch him get hired in a week.

John Harbarugh to Giants! Look how fast that happened!

Can I ask you this? How many of these people are let go, detained or arrested in your neighborhood? Are most just walking away after complying? Is there a fuck you attitude?

I'm not a huge fan of the police. But I also see the need for enforcement.

Really dude? Cause ICE is stopping people that look like me and you and asking for documentation right? Let's call a spade a spade. Most immigrants on the street aren't white, especially the ones they are looking for. One tactic of ICE besides running plates is random stops. And who do you think this targets? Not criminals mostly but just hard working people trying to make a life. This is the difference I guess between us, I don't mind law abiding people who work hard and try to better their life. Some are in the process of being legal, some aren't. There should be a path and not just detain and deport members of community cause they can't get their numbers up going after actual criminals. No American should be stopped on the street and asked for papers just cause they are a shade dark or Asian or black or whatever the fuck.

I''ve seen people offer up documentation and they are still taken into a unmarked SUV. I've seen some agents let them on their way. Those who are taken, there's no reports, no agent saying hey this is where we are taking them. A man from my state ended up across the country and died in a detainement center. But that's okay right? Cause he didn't have the right papers? Life is worth less than?

Dont turn this into a we need police thing. Cause we do, but ICE is not a police force. By law they shouldn't be questioning or detaining any American citizen but here we are. No badge numbers, wearing masks, no names on the uniform. No fucking accountability. Dem or republican this shouldn't sit right with any American.

This is why I get so exhausted with this...what's true...what's not? We can't trust anyone to tell us the full truth anymore.

Did you know this happened? Did you know that happened? How can I when the people who are there to objectively inform us do not?

When someone gets taken into a black SUV, do you actually know why? Because I sure don't. When there is an ideology war going on to this level, it's nothing but propaganda be shared with us.

Over many years legal battles with ensue and maybe some truth comes out, maybe it doesn't.

That quite insane James since Trump seemed to want to end wars. But these aren't really wars. They are escalations though. That can lead to war of course.

Things are happening so fast I can't keep up. It is quite a dissonance to see him do this though given what he said he would do. Or maybe he did say it and I just missed it.

I guess it wouldn't be wise to announce a military movement like this well in advance.

Does Trump ever take a day off?

#28 Re: The Garden » Current Events... » 23 weeks ago

I just don't care any more and I think it makes me more objective. To pretend that they do not have at least some sort of clear mission when the go somewhere. I see one side say, 'all illegals need to go,' I see a more moderate position that 'only criminals who are here illegally need to go.'

I see another side saying hysterically, 'save the children, let everyone in, no one is illegal' and it's totally irrational. Why bother having borders at all then? Why even have laws. This side in particular says no one should be prosecuting anyone except Trump and other white men.'

Both sides are utterly putrid right now on this issue. But thing I won't do is respond to hysteria. Everyone embellishes what's going on to frame it the way that feeds the most outrage. The left is doing this now worse than the middlel or right. I don't believe anything that involves some one saying, posting on social media or reciting something they heard from Rachel Maddow.

What I was pointing out is that you expose your bias when you automatically side with one and not the other. This woman in Minnesota had kids and a family to raise. She took it upon herself to get involved wit this and look what good it did? None. She also lost her life and it didn't change anything. Do you really think that was wise? Do you think she actually achieved anything other than becoming the next martyr for hysterics? Because I don't. I'm so done with these protestors who accomplish nothing but posting selfies while patting their own back for their moral virtue yet accomplish nothing. I'm s done with the vigilantes who think they know anything. They put themselves in harms way and accomplish nothing and this woman paid a big price for it.

Now if you want to shift the focus to: where's the check and balance here? There really isn't one which means transparency is compromised.

So who do I believe?

#29 Re: The Garden » Current Events... » 23 weeks ago

I that's fair Pa but I think you're giving her the benefit of the doubt without giving it to ICE. People who are totally emotional and acting in vigilantly justice are not rational. They know nothing about who they're there to get or why. They  just don't care.

Let's put this in the Trump context. He has been put through the ringer by these same people. Legally, professionally, and many other ways they did this. The hypocrisy is astounding. Now they're showing up in their mini vans and SUVs to bowl people over they don't like. Who is right if everybody's wrong?

The corruption and insane taxes blue states are charging their own people is highway robbery. Then what do they do? The commit massive fraud and now their corruption is exposed. Tim Walz is a fucking moron. He's not in control. He's simply complicit. Why would you trust someone like this to have control over anything? He doesn't. Neither does Brandon Johnson or Gavin Newsome. Neither does the new mayor of New York. Their solutions are non-existent. But their supporters are hyper vigilant. And they all fuel the fire. Federal tax money comes from us. The federal government distributes its. The states that are under attack break all the rules and I'm supposed to get upset by some sob story about a woman who thought she was going to do something about it by being an hysterical jackass? Stay home and stay  out of it

She was just as much in the wrong as anyone. Did it need to escalate so quickly? Probably not. But giving her the benefit of the doubt while not giving ICE the same is not fair. Hysterical faces on MSNBC and CNN and FOX try to paint a narrative to keep you engaged. The View engages in the worst kind of hysteria. And why not? They're all disconnected billionaires.

The democrats brand is not good right now. That much i can tell you. I know we have elections coming up at the end of the year. But i don’t see or feel any momentum on their side and no amount of social media posts will change that. They’re stake and really offer nothing but outrage at no matter what Trump does. That’s not good enough.

Let’s face it…it’s hard to like Trump but the most likeable people have made for the worst politicians. I even question my support of Obama now. This very precise public image he’s created for himself doesn’t align with reality. Michelle Obama never has anything nice to say about him and openly criticizes him for a living.

I think the Dems would be well served by trying not to relive the good old days. Even his signature piece of legislation has been neutered and other than being the first black president his legacy is diminished. Yet the Dems can’t seem to turn the page.

Personally, i feel so tricked by them in the 2020 election that i have not forgiven them.
