After news that The Weinstein Company had lost the rights, Trancas International Films has found a new home for Michael Myers to invade.
The next installment of Halloween will be a production between Blumhouse, Miramax, and Trancas International Films, with Blumhouse’s Jason Blum and Trancas’ Malek Akkad acting as producers.
The eyebrow raising news, however, is that franchise creator John Carpenter is set to executive produce the next sequel to his 1979 indie that launched the career of Jamie Lee Curtis, and introduced the world to the slasher icon known simply to horror fans as “The Shape.”
“38 years after the original Halloween. I’m going to help to try to make the 10th sequel the scariest of them all,” Carpenter stated.
Although unconfirmed, there are negotiations for Carpenter compose the film, which means we’ll hear his signature sounds gracing the screen while Michael goes on his new rampage!
Akkad, who has been a producer on the franchise since Halloween: The Curse of Michael Myers, added, “Trancas International is thrilled to be teaming up with Miramax on Halloween, one of the most enduring horror franchises in film. We are also very excited to be working with Jason Blum and the whole team at Blumhouse. Together, along with the return of legendary filmmaker John Carpenter, we are eager to make a film that will be a milestone in the franchise’s legacy and that will excite the fans, young and old.”
The filmmakers are targeting a Halloween 2017 release, although no writer or director has been announced as of this writing.
Alright, chime in below and tell us your thoughts on this MAJOR announcement!

It's nice to see the man that started it all involved in the next one, nobody has known what to do with this franchise for years. On a side note, I'd like to give a shout out to my old Gn'R/Halloween forum friends James Lofton, Double Talking Jive and Axlin16. I'm happy to say that I purchased tickets to the Guns n' Roses reunion this July in Philly!

Awesome, I hope it's better than the usual disappointing third sequel of superhero franchises. I have a feeling Anne Hathaway will be the weak link of the movie. Marion Cotillard looks hot in this movie. Nolan's take on Bane looks interesting. Summer can't come fast enough!

I don't think it looks that bad but that's probably why it's coming out during spring becasue that's usually when movies suck. I haven't watched the Scream movies in a while, I should dig them up.

I'm a fan of Ozzy, I did my High School senior project on him. My top favorite three albums are Blizzard of Ozz, Bark at the Moon and No More Tears. I think I like Ozzy with Black Sabbath a little more than Ozzy solo.

Very similar to Michael J. Fox's version but pretty interesting:

I bet Vlad the Impaler would go bat-shit insane if he found what his legacy ended up to be.

Rob Pattinson Related to the Real Dracula?! Say It's So!
Perhaps Robert Pattinson had blood-lust in his blood long before Twilight came along.
According to Ancestry.com, the 24-year-old Brit is related to the "real-life Dracula," brutal 15th-century Transylvanian leader Vlad III Dracula, aka Vlad the Impaler, the inspiration for Bram Stoker's Dracula.
"Without any myth or magic, we find royalty and vampires lurking in Pattinson's life'”making his story just as supernatural as the one he's playing on screen," said genealogist Anastasia Tyler.
The link was apparently made through both Pattinson's and ol' Vlad's relation to the British royal family: R.Pattz is distant cousins with Princes William and Harry, while Vlad is a distant uncle.
So it's not like Pattinson's fangs are real or anything, but...still pretty cool, right?
Coincidentally, Twilight Saga author Stephenie Meyer is also linked to the British royals, giving her a bit of Vlad blood, too.
And this isn't the first oddity Ancestry.com has brought to our attention: According to the site, Hermione Granger player Emma Watson is a relative of a woman convicted of witchcraft in 1592 England.

About the ending of RDR...
I HOPE they make more Red Dead games, maybe the next one should be set earlier in the Wild West since Redemption took place during the end of that era.
