They kicked some serious ass up on that stage, they upstaged Baz, he didn't get the same crowd response that Papa Roach received.   The crowd was waaaaay more into them and were going crazy.   Don't knock em till you've seen them live.

Same at our concert. Papa Roach was well received and they played great.

Just about everyday, there is at least one GNR song played in our house. My kids love GNR as well, so they play their songs often.

Scarlett, just show up right before Poison's set starts. When I went to the Treasure Island festival last year, M.I.A. was the only artist I cared about seeing. I did other things in Frisco that day, and about an hour before her set was gonna start, we headed on over to Treasure Island. The band before her was playing, so we went to various booths and bought tshirts and shit until their set was over.

That's what we would probably end up doing, as our ears couldn't handle another shrieking and non-stop swearing Baz. I'm no prude, and neither is my husband by any means, but too much of something can be a bad thing, if you catch my drift. Every other word out of his mouth is "fucking". One guy at the GNR concert screamed out "enough, Baz!", as he couldn't stand it anymore. 14 On stage, when he's singing, you can barely understand a word he's singing, it all blends together. My family did love Papa Roach, though, and thought they were second best to GNR that night. 9

You know what makes this funny?  And maybe Backslash, Neemo or Bono will remember this or have heard about this.  Back in 99, 2000 or 2001 can't remember the exact year.  Baz did an interview with George Strombopopoulous or whatever is name in MuchMusic and when that George dude asked Baz a question relating to Skid Row being of the same style of music as Poison, Baz threw a tantrum saying Skid Row were good and Poison sucked, ended the interview and I think he even threatened the interviewer.  Fast forward to 2008 and he is opening for that very same band that he said sucked and got mad cause someone thought they were like Skid Row and even went and called them the a big band.  Way to go Baz.  This guy will kiss up to just about anybody.

I can't stand Baz. I was going to go and see Poison this summer, but I just might have to pass. I don't think my family or I could handle another Baz opening.

James, shame on you!!!!!

DJT, kindergarten is the start of several years that will go by in a blurr. Once they start school, the time just flies by.

My oldest daughter and I have been looking around to see what college she's interested in going in a couple of years. Every time she discusses college, I have to look away, as the tears are about to flow. I ask myself daily, "where did the time go?". I was never one of those Moms that was glad summer vacation was over- I enjoyed just about every moment of those days. Now, she's looking at several colleges out of state- talk about nerve wracking. This summer, she'll be gone for three weeks training so that next year, she can be a counselor at the summer camp she has attended the last four years. This will probably be the last year she goes on vacation with us in the summer months, as she'll be a full time counselor next year. sad

Ouch. I hope they can fix it right away for you, hun.

I had a cavity filled recently that went all the way into the root. It killed like a mother bleeper when the dentist drilled, and he told me if the pain didn't go away within two weeks, I'd either need a root canal or have it pulled. He said the root canal probably wasn't the best option, as the decay is on the root. This tooth has had so many damn cavities in it and it's been filled and refilled about 8 times over my lifetime. I probably should have it pulled, but I hate the thoughts of losing one of my teeth so young. sad It's been a month since it's been filled (the cavity was on the side of the tooth), and it only hurts when I try to chew on it. Otherwise, it's ok.

Mind you, I brush several times a day and floss most days.

Congratulations! I hope everything goes smoothely for you from here on out.

It's been awhile since I had a wee little one (almost 12 years). Enjoy every moment, next thing you know, you'll be planning college for your oldest.

Scarlett, what's going on with Boston's defense/goaltending?  They're getting slaughtered again tonight and this time it's against the Laffs.

I don't know if you know this, but Tim Thomas' mother is battling cancer, and his grandfather is very ill. He hasn't been the same since his grandfather became sick. I truly believe he needs a week off to visit with loved ones and spend time with them- he's a bit down because his Mom always came to every home game to cheer him on. So, I think for him, he is just not focused right now on the game with all the worry in his personal life, as he's been flopping all over the place, leaving out juicy rebounds and has blown a gasket several times the last few games with players and refs. He desperately needs time off. He's a warrior, though, and I expect him to dust himself off and get back into form soon. I just hope it won't be too late before we see him making decent saves again, as we can't afford too many more losses, especially like tonight's and the game against Washington.

Ward is currently injured, and Allen should really be back in the AHL. Hnidy is what he is, a 6/7 defenseman being expected to do too much above his capabilities. Our offense also needs to step it up- can't win hockey games when your first and second lines are completely shut down.

All in all, we've had a great season, considering Bergeron, Fernandez, and Albert's have been out for a good chunk of the season due to injuries (thanks, Philly, for helping us lose two key players out of three for a huge part of the season, you farking morons). We have a lot of kids on the team, and they're playing fantastic. I just hope Chiarelli doesn't trade our youth away, they all look promising and will be frightening to play against as they mature.

#29 Re: The Sunset Strip » Van Halen tour canceled? » 902 weeks ago

If that is what happened, I feel bad for his son. It's very hard for kids to watch their parents be controlled by this disease and many times, it's broken hearts for all until the person who is sick from it seeks help on their own and succeeds at battling this disease. Detoxing is a temporary fix to the problem, all it takes is one drink, and you're right back at it. He needs more help than detoxing it appears.

Best of luck to him.

#30 Re: The Sunset Strip » Patrick Swayze has Pancreatic Cancer :( » 902 weeks ago

This news broke my heart today. Pancreatic cancer is one of the worst to be diagnosed with, as there is no help for it, and most people die within 6 months. sad So heart breaking........
