Think there's an underestimation at how popular RHCP's are. They appeal to music fans, not just rock music fans. Anything album post "Calfornication" and "Blood Sugar Sex Magik" got massive air play and still does... in the UK.

Exactly. Not only in the UK, in the whole world I would say.
I love when it rhymes...
I wish I could do that all the time!

They were just told that they can't stream it!
Seriously, they were going to.

This is the biggest crowd GNR ever played to, right?

I mean, not in a festival.

That's very prejudiced. I'm form Brazil and I love our music. Stop trying to find reasons for Guns N' Roses to be doing so well.

From MisterSaintLaurent on February:
http://mistersaintlaurent.proboards.com … thread=346

A full North American arena tour and Best Buy exclusive reissue of Chinese Democracy would both launch on March 29. The tour would run through May 17 and hit 30 markets, including NY, LA, Vegas, Ft. Lauderdale, Boston, Detroit, Toronto, Indianapolis, Phoenix, Minneapolis, Atlanta, Tampa, Philly, DC, Denver, San Jose, Calgary, Winnipeg, Omaha and Houston.

30 dates. Yep. All announced dates so far are on that list.

But why is Doc McGhee having so much trouble finalizing a North American tour? Multiple sponsors have already signed on, including John Varvatos, Bloomingdales and Deleon Tequila. Companies such as Monster Energy and Harley-Davidson have had discussions with GNR as well about sponsoring a tour.

Monster Energy Drink, yep. John Varvatos, yep. They have Guns N' Roses t-shirts on their new collection, the ones with the tour logo.

From his video:

Atlas
Cuban Skies
Going Down
Jackie Chan
Light My Fire
Monstrosity
Silk Worms
Soul Monster
The General
Thyme
Tonto

Going Down. Big yep!

Well, we've all seen that Guns N' Roses has being testing new stage set on South America. Maybe they wanna get in US with full power. With Axl rehearsaled and the stage tested.

And don't forget: Chinese Democracy has being vanished from US for sometime now. Like if it had never been released.

The setlist was published by Rock in Rio on their official website.

The tracklist was mentioned by MisterSaintLaurent on his video.

Wow.  Whatever you were smoking before/during/after the concert must be shared with the rest of us.

Agreed. If that was the best concert of his life, he must go to horrendously shitty concerts on a regular basis.

In the past two years I've seen live:
Scorpions (2x)
AC/DC (DVD recording)
Sepultura
Metallica
Bon Jovi
Queens Of The Stone Age
Pixies
Avenged Sevenfold
Linkin Park
Sebastian Bach
System Of A Down
Evanescence
Guns 'N Roses (2x)

And yeah, most of them were great. Bon Jovi had been the best, but my second GNR concert was much better.

Damage control. I knew that after this disaster that there will be people who'll try to convince us that we didn't see what we did see.

Anyway, I hope that the tour will get better. A lot better.

You can't erase what we witnessed, albeit through a live stream and not in person.  I have no doubt it wasn't as bad at the venue, but still.  It was not a great performance to say the least.

But, as you said, all we can do is hope it was just one bad night and things get better going forward.  They seem to be on the right track after last night.

Not that bad? Are you kidding me? It was the best concert of my life! In the past 2 years I have been to many concerts, including concerts and tour that the media please, like Bon Jovi, Metallica, and even the recording of the latest AC/DC dvd, on Buenos Aires, I was there.

And it's impossible to describe how the concert was to me. Or to anyone around me. I didn't see any person that didn't love. I later compared the stream with crowd recording. The mix of the stream is terrible.

I'm not justifying anything, I know Axl didn't sound not even close as he was last year, and it's unbeliavable that he can't remember his own lyrics, but still... It was the best concert of my life, I couldn't stop cheering the band. Watch it agian, the band is cheered all concert long.

You can say what you want, but the 100,000 people who were there loved it. And this is way more important than satisfying fans that are just watching the stream. With all due respect, of course, I know we're all fans equally, but you know what I mean.

I was also very impressed how everyone knew the lyrics of the new songs!
Well, the thing is, the band sounded amazing, and Axl didn't sound bad. Best concert of my life. I would trade all the concerts I have already been to, just to live that again.
