That was an amazing performance. It was great seeing Dave tearing up the set with McCartney wailing in front of him. That guy still has a great voice. And it worked so well. It was great to see the other 3 together on such a large venue.

Who else is hoping they release something as a group? If they can do that in a couple days I want to hear a whole album.

Seattle has withstood unlike any musical movement ever has in the past. I'm proud to call it one of my homes.

Yeah but wouldn't Audioslave be completely commercial compared to Rage Against The Machine as well?

SG and RATM weren't non-commercial bands anyway. So the discussion is just over degrees of commercialism, which isn't my original point.

Audioslave, RATM, and SG are all bands that are slightly weird in their own ways and to varying degrees. Audioslaves debut album is amazing. Cochise was a monster. And the beginning showcases Morellos non-standard approach to guitar well.

Huh? Audioslave was about as commercial and anti-SG origins as it gets.

Compared to SG, yes. Compared to their contemporaries on the radio, they were outside the norm. And Morello is not a normal guitarist. He takes a different approach to guitar than someone like Slash does.

For the record- I wouldn't want to see Cornell front VR. I don't think they would have meshed well for entire albums. Cornell thrives in bands that are outside the norm. Like SG. Or pair him with RATM, or even his first solo album. VR are a straight forward rock band, a very good one, but they aren't weird in anyway (outside of Weiland.)

I've always been an STP and Weiland fan, but that douchebag is making it harder and harder to listen to anything he's ever done. I have no idea the last time I listened to an STP song. I have listened to a couple VR songs. But Weiland has tainted all of that for me. He needs to get his shit together or just retire from music. He lost a lot of respect with that huge turd of a Christmas album he dropped. What a joke.

Too bad we can't see more of the Weilamd that performed Angie with VR. It's a shame we don't have a better quality of that.

I definitely don't think it's a 'bad song' per say. I just don't go to Chris Cornell for that kind of music.

I like my grunge world to stay un-interupted because it means something to me. There's a heart there and a message in there to live by. No different than children of the 60's, I was one of the 90's. That movement meant something more than just another thing to shovel to the masses.

I just like to keep the Soundgarden-vision of Cornell as my vision. I tread very lightly into Vedder's solo stuff as well.

Vedders Into the Wild soundtrack album is pure brilliance. Definitely worth checking out. It matches the tone of the story perfectly.

Cornell has a solo career for songs like Halfway There. When I listen to it I just can't hear Soundgarden.

At least we're on the 'correct' album. Smells Like Teen Spirit would just be hokey.

ANY of them would sound weird. Smells Like Teen Spirit should definitely be retired. MAYBE when they get inducted pull it out, but until then leave it alone.

I just had a thought- it would be INCREDIBLY weird to see McCartney singing Rape Me.

A new song? So who sings it, Dave?

Kurt wasn't Chris, or Layne, or Eddie, or even Andy... but... no way Dave can carry Kurt's vocals.

Call what's his face from the Melvins. He'd be good.

Regardless I will definitely be listening for it. It's been a great show so far.

It'll be interesting. My bet is a McCartney/Dave combo or just McCartney.

I hope they don't announce them as Nirvana though.

Their second encore is one song? Why not just add it to the regular encore.

No Kurt no Nirvana. PERIOD!

I don't see it as a nirvana reunion myself. And I don't think they'd brand it as such either. But the press certainly is. I see it more of a one-off supergroup. Unless they decide to do more. It could be awesome.

And yes, Courtney Love has taken to the twitters in a rage.
