I don't think it's possible for VR to go on with a new singer, I think solo projects are the only option left for the remaining guys.
I always liked Weiland's voice particularly in STP and some of the more ballad style tracks of VR, but I could never stand looking at the guy while he was signing.

Another possibility could be that he is using some substance, but wasn't at the time of the accident, but didn't want to take a test that might show traces of the previous days illegal usage.

Well from a purely selfish standpoint - I have always liked GN'R sites that have sections to discuss official collectibles - e.g. "Appetite for Collection" on HTGTH and "Memorabilia Trading" on Mygnr. The only problem with those sections is they seem to end up with a heap of threads about bootlegs and downloads and not much else about official collecting - which is fine coz I like that stuff too, but mainly I am a big collector of official GN'R stuff (much to my bank accounts disgust).
Anyhow, to fill this void I am actually in the process of engaging a web designer (coz I don't have the time nor the skill) to create a website to host my collection and various other things. Anyhow, whilst there is a couple of similar personal sites around that house GN'R collections, what will be different with mine is that I was intending to create a collectors forum purely dedicated to collecting offical stuff, a bit like this Metallica one I came accross:

Anyhow, I intend to go ahead with my project regardless, but as a thought my suggestion is that the collectors forum could link thru to a section on your website if you like?
Just a thought/offer for you to consider down the track. You may wanna have a look at it after it's up and running and you can get a better guage of its viability and whether you wish to blend it in.

he should be lucky if people feel that way, becuase that means that those fans still feel something towards gnr....and eventually they may just buy a ticket for a show or two....
sadly, i think the reaction will be more like "hey did you get the new gnr album? can i copy it? i couldn't be bothered to download, but if you have it, i'll take it"

Unfortunately, as I think someone else said, those 300,000+ myspace friends are probably just going to illegally download CD when it comes out.
The music industry is struggling badly at the moment, and IMHO a lot of people nowadays (particularly younger people) seem to think it's their right to just illegally download stuff and never pay for it. Throw into the mix the fact that GN'R/Axl has screwed the fans around royally for a number of years now - I'm sure many people will think "F you I'm just gonna illegally download this as payback".

It's a pretty big shame - it doesn't make things look too good (if they weren't troubled already) for VR.

Yeah it's kinda sad, the guy wants more than anything for there to be a GN'R reunion, yet he would be one of the major obstacles to one, due to his fried brain and continual apparent "in your face" drug use.

I definitely have to compare now.
Yeah I don't remember that bit either. I thought the same as you - "maybe it just looks different because I haven't watched it in a while". Until somebody else said the same thing to me.
There is also a live shot early in the beginning of the video, it's a wide angle shot of the whole band onstage taken from behind the audience - I don't recall seeing that angle before.

The video clip they showed for WTTJ appeared to be slightly different - a couple of the live shots looked like they were from different angles. Did anyone else think this?
I will have to drag out my Welcome to the Videos to do a direct comparisonm, in case I just imagined it.

That's interesting - I never noticed that tracklisting as "Estranged/Without You". (I have the original DAT's).
