#2761 Re: Guns N' Roses » Scott Says GNR Were Supposed to tour in 2008 » 825 weeks ago
If Axl played even only one conert, he would negate all he had done for the last 15 years with Guns N' Roses. People would say "if that (classic reunion) is Guns N' Roses, what's that(actual Guns N' Roses)?
I'm glad it didn't happened.
I kind of agree. I'd rather see one or the other. Not Axl touring with the new band (or latest revolving door) and then reunite with the original. I can accept this as the new band (begrudgingly at this point) but can't accept two GnR's, that seems ridiculous. The whole thing is a shame really. After years of supporting the new incarnation, I have swayed back to the old band. I see potential lost and it's a shame.

The irony is, once again, like I said about the Senate, they were the exact people in the mid-2000's screaming about "we need to get people into homes, RIGHT NOW, NO QUESTIONS, WE HAVE TO DO THIS"... so they rushed it. What did they get? Massive foreclosures which destroyed the economy, and we still haven't recovered.
And by the way - Democrats were pushing that one, with Barney Frank leading the brigade.
The minority party was unable to "push" anything at that time. Bush was president and had a GOP Congress. If they didn't like something all they had to do was say no to it.

This story is outrageous, totally inexcusable. However I've seen multiple stories like this in my lifetime. These fucking prosecutors and judges simply won't come back and admit they were wrong. In this case, the same judge won't allow a new trial. I couldn't imagine having an ego so big, that it kept three innocent people in jail, one of which faced the death penalty.

Crazy stuff, i never knew about this story. Or at the very least don't remember it.

I usually skip it 90% of the time. Robin's guitar work on it's fantastic though.

Thanks buzz, for saving me the embarrassment! It's very obvious to everyone that you held back "the big guns"...
When I go see GNR for two shows in Norway in a few weeks, I'll try to upload some videos for you, since you haven't seen the band perform yet. And you can live vicariously through me and tell me what the shows were like and how much it sucked even though the people who attended the shows thought it ROCKED!!
Maybe Noway's standards aren't very high. I've seen the videos. They are unimpressive. I've also read the reports of lukewarm reaction to the new songs and people enjoying the old stuff, though I imagine you'll leave that out of your report.
Enjoy the shows. Why exactly do you care what I think about it anyway? Even if everybody else hates it, isn't all that matters that you enjoyed it?
You keep throwing out the word "everyone" like everyone agrees with you. I don't see people lining up to back you. Even if some people did line up to back you, they certainly wouldn't be doing it because you made a good case. You completely embarrassed yourself dude. You can never win an argument with someone when your side of the argument is telling the other person that the experiences that they had didn't really happen and they imagined them. You are fighting an impossible battle, yet you refuse to give up.
Let me make this as simple as possible so you can go away: you are free to think whatever you want. I know what I have experienced, so no matter what you think is true, you are never going to be able to change my mind on the issue.
My factual experiences are going to trump your desired reality every day of the week. Nothing you can say will EVER change that. No amount of people that you can convince to support you will ever change that. Like I said, maybe I am the luckiest son of a bitch when it came to attending concerts, but I know what happened at the shows I've been to, and the sample size isn't small. Perhaps that is because I haven't gone and seen a lot of washed up bands or bands that are touring well past their prime. Whatever the reason, the facts of what I have seen are the facts. You cannot change them.
You lose. Good day sir.
Anecdotal evidence does not trump anecdotal evidence....just sayin'.

Right now there is nobody in the GOP that can beat this guy. Romney is their best bet, but the far right is already got him on their attack list. A lot of TARP has been paid back with interest, GM just paid the loan back with interest, housing is stabilizing in many areas, and for the first time in a couple of years there is optimism about the economy again. Historically speaking employment is last to come around and will improve over the next 18 months I'd imagine. As health care is phased in and touches more American families the approval will continue to go up. The DOW, at 7500 when Bush left, is not back up to 11.1. The DOW represents international companies, so it's not a true barometer for the economy, however it is a fairly accurate portrayal of our retirement funds.
The right have been very busy calling names and misrepresenting facts. It's going to be difficult to call him a "Socialist" in 2012. All he'll have to do is explain how TARP has been paid back and made the tax payer millions. When they claim government "Took over the auto industry" he can point to GM payback and say the same thing. The old tired arguments of the fringe right simply won't hold water at this point as they've all been proven, and will continue to be proven, false.
The GOP lost 08 mainly because of Bush's dismal lead in, it was simply time for a Democratic President. What sealed the deal was McCain was weak and Palin was a carbon copy of Bush. I don't think the GOP understands that they need to reel in the Neo Cons if they want a chance at beating Obama. Putting somebody up like Palin won't be good enough. They need a moderate who can appeal to Indies and bring something more than bumper sticker talk to the table. Right now the heroes of the right are Beck and Palin, and that's fucking disastrous for their party imo. That kind of rhetoric will guarantee Obama keeps his place for another 4 years.

That shit is up top is just nasty. It reminds me of that scene in "My Cousin Vinny" where Pesci says "I don't know if you're aware of the ongoing cholesterol problem in this country."
