Aussie, Aye mate' you pulling some wool down unda?!  You're girls cute as well.

PS. Who are the Hooters looking chicks?

That was in Amsterdam - they were just some chicks working in a bar there where we called in for a drink and something to eat right in the middle of the city. - I suppose it was like a hooters sort of place. It was kinda funny coz we sat at a table outside on the street and they would bring your drinks out to you but instead of carrying the beers they - well - carried them in their cleavage out to you.

We were laughing coz there was a table next to us with 2 older couples sitting down for lunch and their drinks came out to them like that too.  I don't think they realised before they sat down for lunch, but it just looked like a normal bar/restaurant to me anyhow, we were there with a couple of girls too.  One of them got a photo like me with them too 14

Here's how they served the drinks:

Supa, it is actually five guitar players and 3 drummers-Freese, Brain, Frank. I don't know if Freese will play on the album, but he may get some writing credits.

Is it just me, or does this sound ridiculous - we have 5 guitar players (more if you wanna count Paul Huge and Brian May), 3 drummers, 2 keyboard players, 3 french hens, 2 turtle doves.....

When I listen to a CD I like to know who I'm listening to playing which part - how the fuck am I ever gonna work it out with this lot?  You know when you hear a song or a few songs and you go "I really love how so and so plays that solo or does this on that song" etc.  That way you build up a respect and like for individual members abilities and techniques and sounds.  It ain't gonna happen for me with a large part of CD though at this rate.

But looking at it another way, I suppose this way it ensures that no one persons shines out and is a bigger star than the main man.

there is no way in hell a lame ass reunion is going to happen.   axl is not going to sell out the band just to bring in a bunch of guys who abandoned it a long time ago and don't deserve to be in the band.

JB, its passed being in "lame ass" mode and "selling out" or "abandonment".

Pandora's Box has just been opened, and NO ONE knows how its gonna turn out.

Axl hires new management, VR implodes with Weiland ranting that the VR bandmates were "covering up the truth", and Finck all of a sudden decides to do a world tour with NIN.

All this happened in the span of about a week regarding people who go YEARS without doing or saying anything.

Coincidence?

I think not.

JB, you've known me quite a long time and I have always wanted CD and a followup album over a reunion any day of the week.

But its time for everyone to look at the reality of the situation. We may be seeing the implosion of the CD era right before our  very eyes.

I have wondered what Azoff's long term strategic goal is with this whole thing.

We don't know exactly how long he has been Axl's manager for.  Whilst officially it was only announced recently he could have been for sometime.

I believe Azoff still acts on behalf of Weiland (or at least someone in his stable works with Weiland).  Now Weailand has been conveniently steered down the STP track which clears the decks for VR to slowly die one way or another.

Next object for Azoff is to get CD out of the way - i.e. most likely releasing it.

Now for the conspiracy theory bit, it may be in the best intersts of Azoff if CD doesn't sell too well.  Get the monkey off the back by getting it out, but then if it doesn't sell too well.....

Enter the reunion into the equation and the mega $$'s - not just for the band but for the management.

I'm wondering if Azoff was hired because the CD was being shopped around with labels and nobody would touch it.  Enter Azoff with a carrot to say he can get it released exclusively through Walmart (like he did for The Eagles).  He gets the gig and now the various strings and strategic moves start being pulled.

#2624 Re: The Garden » How did people meet their partners? » 898 weeks ago

I  met my current girlfriend at the pub.  I have to say that generally pubs (2 in particular for me) have been a happy hunting ground.  But that said, it really depends on the individual bar because there are some pubs where I couldn't pick up no matter what I tried.  Whereas 2 of my regular haunts were highly successful.  Maybe that was due to the fact I was more relaxed at them (familir sourroudings, more condfident or relaxed, less concerned about meeting someone or something - I dunno).

I do know that chicks seem to be able to smell desperation.  It's weird.  If I was single for a bit and trying really hard to cut one from the herd, I would find that the girls seemed to have an uncanny sixth sense that would alert them.  Consequently, I found I met most girls when I really wasn't trying (either I was just out with my mates having a good time, or I was out with another girl).

A great example was at a wedding recently with my girlfriend and this really agressive girl came up to me on the dancefloor and bascailly kinda shoved my girlfriend out of the way to dance with me.  My girlfriend then stood next to my mates on the side and they all laughed at me fending off the maneater.  This bird then asked me if I wanted to go outside with her. 18  Same night I got the big come on from one of the waitreses there.

My mates and I were discussing this and we all agreed "why does this sort of thing never happen when your single"? - we could only conclude that it's because of what I said earlier - somehow we must act differently when single - look too keen or desperate or something - and they sense it.  Maybe they see me looking around like a Meercat and it gives the game away - lol

For me going out with a few mates was the easiest way to meet people.  Although I'm 33 now and most of my mates are either married or right under the thumb so, it would be hard if I was single and wanting to go out all the time to meet girls because I would struggle for a wingman week in week out.

A single mate of mine used to meet heaps of girls over the net.  He never did much good with the ladies, but since he started using the net he has chopped a heap of girls!!!  But he did seem to attract a high proportion of bunny boilers from that method.  But then on the flip side, my sister met her husband online and he's a top bloke.

I think I prefer the face to face meetings myself - like at a bar etc.  I gotta also say alcohol was a great help for me too because it gave me the balls to go up to girls that I might not normally.  After a while it kinda became habit forming and I didn't need to be smashed before I was confident enough to just go up to a random girl - no matter how much I once would have thought she was out of my league.  I got to the point where I didn't care if the girl I approached blew me off, coz I didn't take it to mean anything, I would just move on.  In fact my current girlfriend tried to ignore me when I first went up to her - but I won that game in the end wink

Pick up lines never worked for me either, I would just go up and talk to them about anything normal.  My current girlfriend I went up to her and simply said "It was a great win by the Dockers wasn't it" - then started talking footy (turns out she was a Freo fan too so that was a bonus).

#2625 Re: Dust N' Bones & Cyborg Slunks » Sorum Offers His Insight » 898 weeks ago

The way I see it, Scott just got in first.

His reunion happened before the other guys so I don't blame him for jumping - he could see the writing on the wall anyhow with VR and a poor showing with the second album.  STP comes along and it gave him something to jump to.

I have no doubt that if the shoe was on the other foot Scott would be left standing out in the cold in a second, in fact he would have to be careful he didn't get trampled during the hasty exodus back to uncle Axl.

So I don't blame him for jumping ship, however I do think he is a tool for the unprofessional manner in which he handled it.

According to a poster over at HTGTH Matt Sorum just did a radio interview on INDIE 103.1.

"Feel the Burn" posted this after listening to the interview:

HE'S ON! So it begins!! Matt confirms it that they are over and they want to find someone else. In the US tour Scott just said I'm gonna do stuff with STP and they have dates till next year. He didn't talk about it just did it "non chalant". He does bring up Libertad not selling well , he discussing GN'R reunion lmao. Backstage they argued on the Galsgow gig. Said his blog was 'damage control".

EDIT: Wonder what band they're talking about with no label etc..? It sounds pretty cool I think VR are gonna get some rock n roll riffs together. Its funny how they sound like teenagers in a band!

someone else asked if he mentioned anything in the interview about a new singer and another poster said:

Nothing on new singers. Said they're looking around, he even mentioned forum discussions about possible lead singers.

And he did hint at the fact that the band was contacted by a reality show, ala Rockstar INXS/Supernova, but I suppose they turned that down.

Ok since Backslash seems to be the only one posting pics, I thought I would post a few.

These are a couple of shots from my last European holiday.

That's a classic pic Acekicken!

See if you can spot the guy in the photo that's stuck in the 80's?

But jokes aside - I aactually don't think that Baz is all that bad.  I don't think he is the right move for VR but in the abscence of anybody else he would be workable.

#2629 Re: Guns N' Roses » Robin back in NIN. Temp or not is the question? » 899 weeks ago

Well I hear that Slash is looking for a new vocalist and it looks like Axl could be looking for a new guitarist.....  Maybe they could meet up at Canter's Deli and see if they hit it off together 16

#2630 Re: Guns N' Roses » Robin back in NIN. Temp or not is the question? » 899 weeks ago

It must be bad news from a GN'R perspective because the thread about it on HTGTH was deleted.

How lame!

Edit - that's strange now it's back???
